Starting Monday, the Contra Costa County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office will allow public visits by appointment only.
An appointment can be made by calling (925) 957-5280 during call center hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays, according to a release from the tax collector’s office.
Appointments can also be requested by emailing the office at taxinfo@tax.cccounty.us.
Appointments will be set at 15-minute intervals in order to maintain social distancing. A maximum of two people from the same household will be allowed during each visit.
Before arranging an appointment, residents should visit the tax collector’s website at www.cctax.us for online services and information.
We should form a human shield around their office and not let anyone in or out until this BS is over. The county wants tax revenue? Open for business 100% so people can earn a living and pay their taxes.
I like the idea, and we can claim that we are just trying to protect those poor County workers from the virus. BTW- How many county employees have been laid off or are on mandatory furlough? Don’t tell me all government workers are essential… I might bust a gut if you did.
Contra Costa County needs to lower our property taxes!
Tax Holiday!
Does anyone remember the letter that came out in late Feb/early March about how property taxes may go down (this was in Concord)? I wonder what happened to that.
By the way – Tax “people” (can’t use my sentence modifiers) – since my household income is down by 39.6%, it only makes sense that you shave that much off my tax bill…and yes I double checked my math.
Come on now, making me pay taxes is not an essential function. Going out to eat in a restaurant and get a haircut, on the other hand, are very essential.
Very true
Cook for yourself and shave your head. Problem solved.
