Four F-15C Eagle Fighter Jets performed a flyover in the Bay Area today, but missed much of Contra Costa County.

This was in salute to health care workers, first responders, and everyone on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.

These photos were taken from Benicia State Park by “S”, who was nice enough to share them with us. Thanks for the pictures!

QUESTION: Did you see the F-15s? If so, where were you when you saw them?

Couldn’t hear it from the Creek. I heard a jet noise about the time they were to fly over but couldn’t tell if it was them or just a passenger jet. Noise was to faint.

WRONG. It’s social justice warriors and the left doing these applauds. Look at all of the videos on YT. Lots of people not happy with these medical workers……and especially all of the one doing their tik tok dancing videos.
Totally Unacceptable.

Ricardoh May 13, 2020 - 12:35 PM - 12:35 PM

Jojo this was the California National Guard so you will have to take your miserable problem up with Fig Newsom.
If you want to see real tax breaks look at the three trillion dollar catastrophe proposed by the Pelosi and her democrats. Time to get help with your TDS.

chuckie the troll May 13, 2020 - 1:35 PM - 1:35 PM

They probably wanted to avoid the same middle finders our Board of Supervisors and cities are giving the sheep they call citizens.

nytemuvr May 13, 2020 - 1:44 PM - 1:44 PM

Jojo Potato can’t help himself, his bicycle seat has given him a lobotomy.

Gittyup May 13, 2020 - 1:48 PM - 1:48 PM

Was that guy on the left freestylin’ or was that just some formation I haven’t seen before?

To Do List May 13, 2020 - 2:35 PM - 2:35 PM

They are flying the ‘missing man’ formation, meant to highlight that someone is missing as in died, in this case probably in honor of the health care workers who lost their lives.

Gittup May 13, 2020 - 6:03 PM - 6:03 PM

I’m familiar with “missing man” but that was the wobbliest “missing man” I’ve ever seen. He couldn’t seem to find an altitude he liked or which man he was missing. Maybe it was the camera angle, I don’t know. Somebody better check on that guy.

Kirkwood May 14, 2020 - 8:56 AM - 8:56 AM

Don’t forget that they are “weekend warriors”, not the Blue Angels.

Without those weapons of war and their predecessors, you would most likely be speaking a different language and living under a real dictatorship. You should be saluting them for giving you the freedom to exercise your civil right to sound clueless.

The Wizard May 13, 2020 - 2:50 PM - 2:50 PM

Was a grand site seeing our great military saluting our first responders.

Anon May 13, 2020 - 2:57 PM - 2:57 PM

Rzzz,
Give money to the health care workers to add to their Hazard pay…..so they can make some more Dancing Videos. Shame on all of them.

KSM May 13, 2020 - 3:11 PM - 3:11 PM

Yes i heard them and looked out my window at work and saw them here in Oakland.

Cyn May 13, 2020 - 3:29 PM - 3:29 PM

@Jojo

If your daughter thinks our President had anything to do with this, she’s wrong; and since you agree with her, you’re wrong also. Exercises have to be performed and skills kept, NO MATTER WHO THE PRESIDENT IS. If your daughter wants to be pissed about someone, it should be about the traitor president #44.

They flew over Crockett at 10:45 and it was awesome!

ClayDen May 13, 2020 - 7:23 PM - 7:23 PM

I didn’t see or hear them, as I was giving an online final exam. However, I think it’s a great way to get some stick time and a good use of carbon based fuel.

Antler May 14, 2020 - 9:01 AM - 9:01 AM

I know! That fighter jet fuel is practically kerosine, isn’t it?

Hope you are pleased with the way the virtual class instruction has been going. Can you tell whether a student has “dropped off” the class session? One of our granddaughters is a micro-biology major, and all her classmates are truly missing lab time, but she doesn’t mind doing the other classes online at all. She’s a junior…. almost all classmates are sheltering in their home towns now, so loneliness is a big factor.

Stay well!

Antler May 13, 2020 - 9:08 PM - 9:08 PM

What a shame we had such a heavy cloud cover for most of the day! I listened for them and think I heard at least a lead and one wingman go over Concord using VFR on their way toward Travis. Does anyone know from what base they actually operated?
Stellar idea and much appreciated!

Antler May 14, 2020 - 8:44 AM - 8:44 AM

I wrote VFR because they were flying at minimum legals (and often Bailey Pass/Road is used as a landmark.) …. only a guess….

Antler May 14, 2020 - 8:53 AM - 8:53 AM

Oh! And at least for Marine Corps/ Navy aviators, that is not the formal “missing man” formation. The last plane seems to be flying “chase” (generally it falls back and is at either a slightly higher or lower altitude).
It would be nice to know for sure, though, I agree.

Silva May 13, 2020 - 11:49 PM - 11:49 PM

Sweet! That’s gotta be a whole lot of fun. Especially around here.

Huh? May 14, 2020 - 9:45 AM - 9:45 AM

Amazing that the people who put this together could not arrange The flight pattern to fly over THE MOST POPULACE CITY in Contra Costa county?????

The Grant May 14, 2020 - 12:26 PM - 12:26 PM

Waste of money. I estimate $500,000 cost ($25,000 operating cost per hour per jet)

ghostryder May 14, 2020 - 2:34 PM - 2:34 PM

saw the planes way off in the distance (probably over crockett) from my vantage in pacheco, they didn’t come close to the diablo valley. what a bummer.

Original G May 14, 2020 - 3:16 PM - 3:16 PM

There are a few places in the world that civilians can go to see aircraft performing in close quarters. We are talking you can see into the cockpit as they fly by.
