The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
Today’s question:
QUESTION: What are you looking forward to doing most after all COVID-19 restrictions are lifted?
Talk about it….
Hanging out at my favorite wineries.
First, visit my MOM
Second, Visit my DAD
Third still continue to SIP even though thing are lifted so I can be extra caution. I will not go to the bars, meetings, no movies and list goes on until this is all over.
And how will you determine that it’s over?
Visiting friends and family, and watching the news and there is no mention of COVID-19 or Dr. Fauci.
A weekend getaway
Fill up my truck and drive.
I go for rides now
I never knew we couldn’t go for rides
Just think how healthy you would feel if you got out on your bicycle and rode around on one of the many trails we have available? A lot less smog too.
JoJo has brain damage from his bicycle seat hitting it.
Ironically, I was looking forward to getting clam chowder from Sweet Tomatoes. I believe they must put crack in it. I have tried and failed to replicate their recipe at home.
Not catching COVID 19
Speaking for everyone, “Get a haircut!”
Swim laps…why this is prohibited, I don’t know. No shared equipment or physical contact. Chlorine kills germs. It’s killing me not to be able to swim.
Going out to dinner.
I’m looking forward to my kids going back to school, gymnastics and kung fu. As for myself I am looking forward to getting my hair done and a pedicure.
Me and buddy discussed this the other day. When things open up, we’re gonna head over to SF and spend a couple of hours at the Mitchell Bros.
I’m ready for a mani/pedi spa day!!!
Same things I do now, but with traffic and crowds. Can most of you stay scared please. I really like getting to the beach in 20 minutes.
The same exact things I have been enjoying this whole time.
Hugging my loved ones, especially my two young grandchildren.
very sad….virtual hug for you 🙂
Hang out with friends and family. I’m not a fan of isolation.
Getting together with our kids and grandkids and traveling. A haircut is also on the agenda. We had three trips cancelled between March and July.
Besides my Hubby going back to work or a new job for 2 more years, would totally enjoy a visit to the Chiropractor, a mani/pedi. Hoping Alaska Ferry starts again & Canada Border opens soon so Daughter & her Hubby can come back from Alaska.
I’m with you Mrs. Roz. I don’t really need for myself as I am still working. I wish everyone’s first thing is to get back to work like your Hubby. I’m thinking our unemployment rate is going to get back to normal quickly. Everyone will need their employees back and will re-hire the very ones they were forced to lay off. Peace and loves!
I want to sit around the house. Great relaxation. It’s something different.
Go somewhere for a beer.
I am Going to Germany.
Again?
It’s not even October!
Ich gehe weil
Ich habe eine duetsche Freundin.
Me too! Unfortunately Octoberfest is cancelled. That was my target too. I’m sure I’ll be able to find 🍺 and brots somewhere though. 🤔
Going back to church.
Looking forward to a vaccine. Without it loosening restrictions is practically pointless. I have a cavity that needs fixing and other doctor appointments that need doing. Family and friends would be nice too.
Dynamite fishing
Road Trip!
Take a drive in the convertible up through Napa, drink wine, eat dinner outside and, most of all, HUG my loved ones.
No mask, having lunch at The Chinese Kitchen (if they ever re-open), having dinner in downtown Concord or Walnut Creek (birthday and anniversary approaching), having my mother over for dinner on Friday nights (locked down in assisted living) and taking the vacations we were going to take before corona-mania started.
Go to Golden Corral
ya know, that’s a good idea…. I haven’t gone to the fights in quite a while.
Methinks buffets are a thing of the past. Good luck!
Going back to work!
Return of sports.
Gas up my Cadillac add a little STP, it smokes a little and burn some ozone.
Summer Music & Market concerts, Concord Pavilion & Shoreline Amphitheater, Giants games (drive to SF – no Bart), and swimming in our community pool. Summer is usually so much fun. Hope next summer we will be back to normal.
“normal” won’t exist for all the events you mentioned. Concerts? Ha! Sporting events? Double ha! Sorry to burst your bubble but the only outdoor, music and sporting events you will participate in will be in your memories.
I sincerely doubt that we will ever be without draconian restrictions.
Once the government takes away our freedoms we’ll never get them back.
Newsom’s voter fraud executive order will ensure he remains gov. for as long as he wants.
And the good citizens of CA will suffer far worse and much longer than any illegal.
I am going out to breakfast. I miss that so much.
Sparring. I’m an instructor, I miss my students.
Working!
Gym, gym, and more gym!
That too, I miss the gym. Gravity is creeping up on me now.
Casa Orinda martinis & steak sandwich
Sipping chilled wine, snackin’ on ribs and dancing at the free outdoor concerts
4th of July celebration
3 day weekend in Tahoe (hiking, swimming, tubing)
The simple pleasure of going to a shopping mall and having lunch in a restaurant.
Hugging my parents and friends/family and having meals together… Not wearing these masks… Getting my kids back to their friends and activities like soccer and gymnastics… Camping…
Can’t lie though, I’m going to really miss light traffic and spending all this time with my kids! This SIP has had some perks
Oh, and getting back to the gym
Hug.
Camp.
Wear pants.
Going to the dentist. Then seeing my folks and their kitty menagerie. Then going on a whole-Bay shopping spree. Then a Sacto-area weekend bookstore tour.
Then get the heck out of dodge for a week or two so that home might feel like home again instead of a plush jail cell.
First thing I will do is go visit my mother and father to give them a big hug. Then I’ll be hooking up my 5th wheel trailer and heading to the mountains to kick back and do a little stream and river fishing. Then coming home and hooking up the boat to do a little salmon and halibut fishing along the Marin coast.
Things will not be the same. You who blame Gavin Newsom for taking away your freedoms are blind to reality. COVID19 took almost every privilege we have away. I do not expect anything I had in the past to resume 100%. It will be maybe at best 50%! Only if a vaccine is available and about a year after the vaccine! I want the Lafayette Reservoir to reopen. I will not go out to an indoor restaurant, nail salon or hair salon as much as I need both. I miss my thrift shop hunting most of all. The new normal means to live in my cocoon for at least five years. I am an artist so I will paint. I temporarily gave up riding my bike because the Iron Horse Trail is very crowded. So perhaps when people go back to work the trails will be less crowded. I do not need to work.yea!
“You who blame Gavin Newsom for taking away your freedoms are blind to reality.”
Those like you, who believe he has the authority to do so, are blind to reality. Go ahead and stay in your cocoon for five years. Someone willing to do that doesn’t have much to add to society anyway.
“Rights that are granted by a piece of paper can be taken away with a piece of paper. The only “rights” you really have are those you can defend yourself. And unfortunately viruses are not big on “rights” it seems. What to do….🤔
Sorry,
The ability to move about as a Free Man is a RIGHT.
You can take your “privilege” back to your Communistic land…..We don’t accept that talk here.
Communistic? I’m not sure that’s even a word. You’re not catching what I’m throwing. These “rights” you keep talking about were written by long dead men who didn’t know where the sun went at night. It’s a piece of paper(s). And papers get changed all the time. Your true rights are only those you can claim for yourself and hold against all comers. Everything else is essentially a social contract. And contracts are broken all the time. I’m not attacking America, only the myths that people with an agenda surrounded it with. Does more harm than good. Put it this way, self-determination is independent of any flag if you truly believe in self-determination. That’s truth. Inconvenient, but truth.
Our Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, grants no rights whatsoever. It merely acknowledges them.
@Cowellian,
You took the words right out of my mouth. Or keyboard, or whatever.
Yeah blow past the point and pick at the semantics. We just brushed against fate and got lucky. Our luck isn’t going to hold out forever. My advice is don’t rely on any piece of paper for anything if it does go south. I’m just getting a head start.
Hug and kiss my first great grandchild who was born on March 24th and I’ve only been able to gawk at her through her bedroom window. Go kayaking at Big Break. Get back to directing shows for community theatres. Eat at Tachi’s and Guadalajara Grill.
Getting a haircut from someone who knows what they are doing. My self cut was problematic at best. Also, interacting with friends and neighbors again.
Happy Hour with friends!!!
Rescheduling my mom’s cancelled memorial and family reunion…AFTER I get a vaccine. Also not getting on a plane until vaccinated.
I can’t wait to get a bikini wax.
How about doing what is right! Not believing we have to practice social distance, wearing a mask, and thinking we can do what we want because of our rights is pure bipartisan ignorance. Our idiotic obese 70 plus President needs to self quarantine! He a arrogant and is the worst example!
I’m going to need a camping trip.
