About time. I hope they add Newsom to their suit, since the CHP was following his orders.

This is why we have checks and balances built into the Constitution and right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The lawsuits are just beginning. In the end, the lawsuits may cost taxpayers more than the aid packages. The cops will never do anything to risk their pensions, so these kinds of things will increase and the police will continue to be at the beck and call of our so-called “leaders,” regardless of constitutional violations.

Good, I hope they win. I can remember a time when the CHP was a respected law enforcement agency. Whether you agree or disagree, protesting is a right. Protect the First Amendment.
During the Obama administration, conservatives were chanting “Blue Lives Matter”, and they said that criticizing the police was treacherous. During the Trump administration, conservatives have become far more antagonistic towards law enforcement.
The said thing is, conservatives are going to think that these protests were responsible for the first easement of restrictions next month, even though the easing of restrictions in May was being considered before these protests began.
Law enforcement is doing exactly as they have been told to do. You can imagine someone with a seriously weak ego like Newsom simply could not tolerate that kind of demonstrated criticism of his tyranny and would order the CHP to prohibit demonstrations. Conservative are opposed to the manner in which Newsom is running the state, not how the CHP and other law enforcement are carrying out his orders.
And during the 60-70’s, liberals questioned authority, protested the war and committed acts of civil disobedience for such weird ideas as civil rights, privacy and government overreach.
Now they willing give up their civil rights, call people who refuse to do so unpatriotic, sign up for apps that track their every movement for the Government and regurgitate every minutia of their daily life on Facebook and Twitter for anyone to view including the Government.
FYI – your last paragraph is exactly what my parents said about antiwar protests during Vietnam.
Natalie’s last paragraph embodies exactly WHY we ended up where we are in this nation. How telling it is that the primary concern about protesting is that, heaven forbid people protesting might feel, however brief, that by exercising their constitutionally granted rights, they have made a some kind of difference.
It’s along the same vein as those people who get upset when other people break the SIP and don’t get sick.
Please, let’s have more independent lawyers step up and fight for our rights. Because unless you’re an illegal immigrant, criminal or need an abortion, the ACLU isn’t going to do squat for you.

Clear the jails and close the gun stores. Thank you Contra Costa County. The people will not forget this offense against our human rights.
I will certainly pay more attention to local elections in the future.

Reminder: There is a pandemic happening and we are supposed to social distance to prevent spreading. That is why there is a ban on groups of protesters.
The Vietnam War protests were NOT during a pandemic. America was lied to about the war. The comparisons are like apples and anvils.

I wonder how people who live under actual tyranny might respond reading these posts. How many times do you have to confuse patriotism with selfishness before it sinks in? We’ve gone soft I tell ya. 🤷🏻

That’s just what tinpot tyrants do.
Good! Are freedoms are being taken away from us abuse of power!
ARE you sure? Or OUR are you unsure?
Right the hell on !
Am I the only one to see irony in have to ask permission to protest?
Didn’t ask for permission in the 60’s.

Please give an Exact, Precise, Clear Cut Example of a Conservative “being antagonistic towards Law Enforcement”.
