A 24-year-old Martinez man was arrested in Concord on Saturday on several charges, including theft and evading police, according to the Concord Police Dept.

Several callers on Saturday afternoon reported a black SUV driving recklessly while exiting southbound hwy.242 at Solano Way and Grant St.

Once the SUV reached the city streets of Concord it crashed into the center median, and the suspect fled with a backpack and a few boxes of tools, police said.

Police say he then ran into a nearby neighborhood where several callers witnessed him jumping fences into various backyards.

Concord Police dispatch then received information from Martinez Police that the SUV was involved in a hit-and-run collision in their city after the driver stole tools from the Martinez Home Depot, police said.

Minutes later, Concord dispatch received a call from a Concord resident wanting to report their SUV stolen, which was the same SUV involved in the crime spree, according to police.

The suspect in this case was identified by police as Antonio Neely. A records check revealed he is on felony probation for robbery and evading police.

why do they keep letting these crazy and dangerous steven cowell types out of jail?

sign from above April 21, 2020 - 8:29 AM - 8:29 AM

Simple answer Mev.

Because this is what the California voters want. They don’t want to incarcerate their criminals in those nasty overcrowded jails! It’s better to allow them to roam the streets and cause havoc to innocent citizens. Soft on crime politicians = more crime. And, the problem will get worse now that they have COVID-19 as an excuse to push even more out of jail! Again, it’s and easy answer. For slime like this, crime really does pay!

They need to make room for the fathers playing catch with their children in the empty parks. And the lone surfer. Can’t have that.

Large caliber weapon, short range would solve this problem forever. This person is obviously a lifetime criminal and a parasite on decent people of society.

On the flip side they want to fine us and threated us with arrest if we don’t obey the social distancing laws. But yet guys like this just keep getting arrested and let out.

Meanwhile, we’re all on lock down and this repeat offender doesn’t even get an Ankle bracelet. Why was he out making videos of hot rodding around town? Was it Essential?
Nice touch with his instagram, I especially liked the modified exhaust on the Denali so he could p!ss off his neighbors ……anything goes in Martinez when it comes to disturbing the peace.

The Professor April 21, 2020 - 2:07 PM - 2:07 PM
