The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
Today’s question:
QUESTION: Since you probably watched television this weekend, tell us, what’s your favorite tv show? (all time favorite and current favorite)
Talk about it.
All-time favorites: Happy Days & Married with Children
Current favorite: Forensic Files II
Animaniacs back in the eighties.
Currently, Carols Second Act.
Hellooooooooo Nurse
Thank You for Animaniacs, had forgotten about that. Then remembered Pinky and the Brain cartoons. Luckily the old stuff is available on YouTube these days. Did quick search and found two hundred videos of each.
Also on YT is 1985 series of 56 lectures ‘The Mechanical Universe’ series from Caltech. There’s also Charlie Chan, Boris Karloff Mr. Wong movies, Keye Luke movies, Peter Lorre Mr. Moto movies, Sherlock Holmes movies and even 1960s McHale’s Navy.
As for TV, everything is DVR time shifted so commercials can be skipped. Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, etc.
Don’t care for the way some TV shows these days care more about being PC correct than having a plot.
BREAKING NEWS:
“Six counties in the San Francisco Bay Area will be placed under a shelter-in-place directive by public health officials in a bid to slow the spread of the coronavirus, San Mateo Mayor Joe Goethals said Monday. It’s a move that will close virtually all businesses and direct residents to remain at home.
Goethals said he believed that the order, to be issued Monday afternoon, will put the six counties on perhaps the most restrictive public health footing anywhere in America, since the outbreak of the potentially deadly coronavirus.
Only police and fire departments, hospitals, grocery stores, pharmacies and a few other businesses will be allowed to remain open under the shelter-in-place order, said Goethals, who holds a master’s degree in public health.”
That TV show sucks!
NCIS is a favorite, plus some others.
Since it’s only on twice a year,…Survivor for now.
“Ancient Aliens” They have some far out theories but also some good ones. It also covers things that are out there in the world you have never heard of or thought about before.
Really? the logic on that show usually goes like this: “is it possible that these fantasies were correct and they prove everything”. Just annoying for me.
@JoJo Potato….much like the MSM!
Your fantasy, not mine
@JoJo Potato… I think you’ve bruised your brain with it bouncing on your bike seat.
Here is something the program got me thinking about. That is the concept of God. Everywhere on earth no matter how disconnected from each other every group had a God. I was thinking if I was living back then trying to eek out my next dinner and keeping warm would I have given a thought about a god. What or who put the concept of God on earth. Were there some superior beings on earth who gave the concept of god? I wouldn’t argue against it. Another thing is all of these Gods from all points of the disconnected earth had wings. They all came from the sky.
Blue Bloods! Best show on TV!
All time favorite has always been Leave it to Beaver, because it reflects a time of innocence that I can identify with. One reason the show was a success is because the writers wrote about their own true life experiences with their own children. Another favorite was The Untouchables, partly because I am Sicilian, and I love 1930’s gangster movies.
Although I watch some TV today, I do not have a favorite.
Have you watched The Irishman movie? Outstanding gangster style and the acting was incredible. Every major Italian-descended Hollywood actor in this era is in it.
SEAL team and Blue Bloods.
Gossip Girl is my favorite of all time!
I am currently re-addicted to Dark Shadows. All time faves – Seinfeld, Andy Griffith, Everybody Loves Raymond. Absolutely NOTHING current that I like.
Seinfeld. The original “show about nothing”.
The complete series box set remains the best $100 I’ve ever spent.
This would be a good time to watch some back in the day re-runs. Thanks for the reminder…
Breaking Bad
Game Of Thrones
Seinfeld
Lost (first 2 seasons only, went way downhill after that)
Sopranos
The Office (USA version)
Mad Men
I Love Lucy
I watch and have watched a lot of shows. Many excellent ones. One I really thought was excellent recently was “Zero Zero Zero” on Amazon. It’s based on a book about a family running a shipping company which is involved in smuggling cocaine.
This is us
The Walking Dead…. too soon?
Never too soon, Carnac.Thanks!
HUNTERS on Amazon Prime.
It’s inspired by true events from the 1970s NYC when Jews formed a secretive hit squad & began taking out Nazis who escaped Germany after the war. They kill them similar to how they killed Jews & others in the camps.
One lady worked the gas chamber in the camps so they installed gas to come out of her shower head & her shower door to lock so she couldn’t get out.
Hunters on Amazon is good, I’m all in on killing Nazi’s in any format.
Letterkenny re-runs on Hulu.
Have a couple of episodes recorded of Kojak from a channel I didn’t know I had. Haven’t watched them yet but love me some Kojak.
Seven Worlds, One Planet on BBC America is fantastic. Forget which continent I’m on. Asia I think.
And American Rifleman and Gun Stories on Outdoor Channel.
Hoarders
BaddaBing
Then & Now: Andy Griffith Show; but only the first 5 seasons.
The Wild Wild West. Specifically the episodes with Dr. Loveless……
Old Shows…Route 66…Mister Ed….
MASH, Seinfeld, Cheers old tv
All time favorite was “Dr. Who” up to last season, the new “Doctor” and new writers suck, right now favorite is “Better Call Saul”…. any F1 race works for me anytime.
Married with children
Miami Vice
Gotham
Jonny Quest
The Sopranos
The Wire
there was nothing left on television today that has any sort of beneficial value. Besides maybe BBC nature programs
Bewitched!
Technically it’s not a TV show, but right now I’m seriously into Kitboga’s YouTube channel.
He has a bunch of different characters he uses to waste the time of scammers (he uses a voice modulator to sound like them too).
Edna is my favorite character, especially when he wears the wig.
Greg Gutfeld Show
Monty Python
Mash, LA Law, Johnny Carson, Laugh in,
then in no particular order Barney Miller, Mod Squad, Medical Center, Mary Tyler Moore. Of the first 4 couldn’t say which l liked best, they were different, but still the best to this day
