38-Year-Old Man Pleads Guilty On Two Counts Of Attempted Kidnapping For Rape

38-year-old Matthew Caruso of Newark pleaded guilty to two felonies of attempted kidnapping for rape, and was sentenced to nine years in prison, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Last year, Caruso was charged with four felonies after an extensive investigation by the Walnut Creek Police Department. Caruso tried to abduct the unidentified victim outside of her apartment in the early morning of March 26, 2019, according to the D.A.’s Office. The attack and kidnapping failed, but Caruso tried to use a taser to subdue the victim. He then fled the scene wearing an elaborate disguise, the D.A.’s office said.

A witness noticed that the suspect dropped his phone in nearby bushes as the victim thwarted the attack. A few hours before this attack, Caruso drove by another victim’s residence but did not engage with this victim.

Caruso was arrested after a person found what authorities say were disturbing notes from Caruso explaining his desire to kidnap and rape multiple victims, zip ties, and a mask in a dumpster, according to the D.A.’s office.

The officers sifted through the garbage in the dumpster and located a receipt that they traced back to the defendant, which ultimately led to his arrest, authorities said.

9 years thats it?!!!!!???!!! People like this need to be locked away til they are 80 years old+, when they are too old and weak to hurt anybody. Sickening. Hopefully he gets k1lled in prison.

He will be out in 4 1/2 years tops. This is California, the felons sanctuary 😕

Boil Him !

Good police working digging that receipt out and connecting the perp to it.

Excellent work by both Law Enforcement and the brave woman who fought this turd off!

In California they must serve 80% of their sentence before they are eligible for parole. He has a desire to kidnap and rape victims, that desire isn’t going to go away in 7.2 years. When he is released, he will be a danger to society. Even if he is denied parole, that desire will still be with him in 9 years. People that prey upon other people with the intent to do harm should be locked up for life.

This guy has obviously never watched an episode of CSI or Criminal Minds
