The Trump administration on Friday declared the coronavirus a public health emergency and ordered all US citizens returning from the center of the outbreak in China to be quarantined for two weeks, according to the New York Post.
“This is a significant global situation and it continues to evolve,” said Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
According to Redfield, there are six cases confirmed in the US and 191 possible cases under investigation. The most recent U.S. confirmed case was not a traveler but a close personal contact, the Post reported.
Should we all avoid the Chinese New Years parade in the city next week?
Why not avoid anything that gets shipped from China?
Yes. Please don’t come. Stay home.
Mika, heavens no!!! The PC Snowflakes will surely protest.
7th case confirmed today in Santa Clara. You can cut your risk dramatically by washing your hands and not touching your face. This works well for almost all communicable diseases such as the common cold, the flu, and even the coronavirus. If you sneeze or cough, turn away from people and cough into your elbow or shoulder. It seems like common sense, but I can’t tell you how many times I see people at the store cough into their hands and then touch the cart handles. Blech. If you feel unwell, mask up before heading to the clinic, please. Sharing is caring, but not with germs.
YIKES!! This freaks me out! I AM worried – it seems to be spreading like wildfire! Time to hunker down in our huts and stay away from everything and everyone else!!
Hmm, anytime the Administration takes proactive action to protect Americans, desaulnier issues a bonehead proclamation…where fore art thou?
Avoid all Chinese restaurants!
