Armando’s live music venue on Marina Vista in Downtown Martinez is closing after 14 years in business.

The owners posted the following message on their website:

We are sad to announce that the owner of the building where Armando’s is located has served a 30-day eviction notice. Accordingly, Armando’s will be closed indefinitely after February 9, 2020.

We have had a great time over the last 14+ years, and loved every minute! So much talent has graced our stage, and we have had tremendous love and support from the artists, the patrons and our team. Roy Jeans will be looking for an alternative location, and we are hopeful Armando’s will rise up again and continue to be a cherished part of the musical landscape in Martinez.

We hope to see as many of you as possible in the remaining shows – and be on the lookout for some fun surprises as we wrap up this remarkable, historic run.

This is so sad. Armando’s is such a staple in downtown Martinez and has such great live music. I’m looking forward to the new venue which will hopefully be larger to accomodate the masses.

I never went there but it is unfortunate that a a decent live music venue, that isn’t huge, is closing. Hopefully they will be able to find another decent facility for their entertainment venue. I have always preferred the club type venues over the stadium venues.

I’m very sorry to hear this. Saw Charlie Hunter here a couple of years back and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Thank you for the good times.

Love Armando’s and gonna miss it!

I’ll be there next Friday at 4:30 to see The Killbillies play! In this photo their singer, Joe V, is in the audience.

NEAUXXXXXXX! We LOVE Armando’s. So sad that SF Area doesn’t support live music. First Biscuits and Blues gets flooded out and closes indefinitely, the The Impulse Room in WC closes, and now Armando’s.

Are there any decent places in the area that still provide live music? And have at least a bar?

Thanks Armando’s for all the great shows and fun times. We will miss you!

I love this place! So very bummed it’s closing. I have met the most wonderful folks here, and seen amazing musicians. Dang! I hope Roy will be able to move his club to another spot.

Why are they being evicted?

Terrible news.

Armando’s is the hippest music venue in the Bay Area. It’s a huge plus for MTZ and CCC in general to have a place like Armando’s in existence.

I suspect it’s another weirdo Martinez property owner who will let the place sit vacant for years and years and years.
