Matt Rinn is Pleasant Hill’s new mayor, and Sue Noack its vice mayor, as chosen by their Pleasant Hill City Council colleagues Monday night.
Rinn was first elected to the Pleasant Hill City Council in 2016. He had previously served on the Pleasant Hill Education Commission, and was the city’s Citizen of the Year in 2015.
Noack was elected to the Pleasant Hill City Council in 2014 and again in 2018, and served as mayor in 2016. She represents the city on Transportation Partnership and Cooperation (TRANSPAC), the regional transportation planning committee for central Contra Costa County. Noack founded the Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education, and is the current president of Pleasant Hill Rotary.
As do many cities, Pleasant Hill generally chooses a new mayor each December based on a rotation system, from among its five council members. Rinn was the city’s vice mayor in 2018, and Ken Carlson was mayor.
The Ref
Noack was one of many people who started the Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education. Is she claiming she did it herself?
I’d it me or can we please have an election instead of a rotation?
no, because it is a city manager form of govenment. mayors in this case are an honorary rotation… they just get to be the lead or forman. their council vote in same value as others…
