New Round Of Storms Heading To The Bay Area After Brief Pause

A new round of stormy weather will be heading into the Bay Area this weekend after a relatively dry Thanksgiving Day, according to the National Weather Service.

The new system, a so-called atmospheric river, will bring fresh rain to the region starting Saturday and is expected to dump most of its precipitation overnight and into Sunday before tapering off, said Weather Service Meteorologist Carolina Walbrun.

“There will be more rain than we had with this previous one but
we’re uncertain where that rain is going to fall,” Walbrun said. “It’s like a
fire hose that’s hard to control. We don’t know where it’s going to aim.”

The new storm should be less windy than the previous one.

Freezing temperatures are expected across the Bay Area.

Too bad they dont have a weather radar to tell where it’s going to rain…

Actually they’re getting very close to doing just that.
Go over to Talk About Whatever, November 27, 2019 at 2:43 PM post, has a bunch of useful URLs there.
An looking at it realize I left one off, that is a bit predictive.

This is the weather radar I’ve used for years (needs Adobe Flash):

I’m getting a kick out of these new names for a storm. Yesterday they were calling it a cyclone bomb, today it’s an atmospheric river. I guess I’m old fashioned, I still call it rain.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
