Dos Coyotes in the Willows Shopping Center on Diamond Blvd. in Concord has permanently closed, according to a message on their website.

The company released the following message earlier this afternoon:

“After three years operating in the Willows Shopping Center, Dos Coyotes Concord has closed permanently effective today. We want to sincerely thank our customers and the Concord community for their generous support. Our greatest reward has always been serving delicious southwestern food to our fans and we are forever grateful to earn their business.

We will continue operating our locations throughout the Sacramento and Davis areas as well as our closest location in San Ramon, located at 3191 Crow Canyon Pl (next to Sprouts in the Crow Canyon Commons). We will continue to serve our catering customers via our San Ramon location and can be reached at DosCoyotesCatering@gmail.com or (925) 242-0404.

On behalf of our entire team, we want to thank the Willows Shopping Center, our customers, friends and family, and of course, our employees for all the support!

Best regards,
Dos Coyotes Concord”

all my fault… never heard of them.

WHO?

Awful food awful service. I’m not surprised that they closed. I am surprised that it took so long. 3 years.

I met my bf there and we just recently ended it too. The irony. 😢

Went to this location once and….. shocker, chain restaurants feel unoriginal and the service was lacking too

They’re breaking up with us?
They’ve probably met another city… a better looking place with a classier crowd and lots of money to spend!
That’s it isn’t ? !!!
Some shallow, self centered, show off strip mall I’ll bet!

Fine! Dos Doggies! ………GO!
But don’t come crawling back to Concord when they raise your rent or open a H00ters next door to you… you…… two timing &%$#!!!

Always excellent Food and service sad to see them go.

Wow, the food was really good and good service.

The food was decent. Wasn’t exciting enough for me to go back a second time though.

Went there once and even though their website proudly features a vegetarian menu, the actual staff at the restaurant were clueless about it and tried to give my wife the gluten free menu not understanding there was a difference.

In the end, she was able to find something vegetarian on the regular menu, but the disconnect between the messaging and the reality was annoying.

It didn’t help that the food, vegetarian or not, was typical white-washed “Mexican” food. (about as Mexican as Panda Express is Chinese)

Maybe it was just a bad day but we never had any urge to go back.

What?! Panda isn’t Chinese? 🤣

From the article; “Our greatest reward has always been serving delicious southwestern food to our fans..”

I never went there, but at least on this occasion they aren’t describing their chow as “Mexican food”.

Bummer! I really liked their food.

I really liked their food. Sadly the Willows Shopping Center is dying, only made worse by Concord approving that tacky Veranda development next door!

Yeah, sure, the nicest shopping center in Concord is tacky… I bet you love park n shop tho…

Veranda is awesome.

Our family of four love going there – Silverlake Ramen, Red Door Escape Room, Popbar, list goes on.

Also, a Brazilian steakhouse and Italian restaurant are moving in as well.

Only negative is the parking issue (valet services took over a large section of spots behind the buildings) – no worries, we use Willow Center for parking and walk over

What are you expecting for Concord? Rodeo Drive? Keep crying.

Very sad to see them close. The catering was always a crowd pleaser and their delivery people were ALWAYS on time. Glad to hear catering may still be an option.

I’d love any suggestions on other Mexican food in the area that offers tasty catering and reliable lunchtime delivery to downtown Concord.

I tried it once and wasn’t anything special.

Just ate there last night. Wow.

Never knew about this restaurant and didn’t know it was there. Sorry they could not stay in business. Very sad.

Beginning of the end for that entire shopping plaza…. It will be impossible to compete with The Veranda

what are you talking about? The Willows is just as striving as the Veranda. Just look around!
Dos coyotes was just in a very poor location. I personally did not like the service-style, made it feel like a fast food place with “restaurant” prices.

Guess I will get my Dos Coyote fix in Davis.

NO!! Guess I’ll have to wait for a trip to Davis.

Awful food awful service. I’m not surprised that they closed. I am surprised that it took so long. 3 years.

Aww. I loved that place. And they had amazing fundraisers for my kids school. Their food wasn’t authentic at all but that’s not why I went there. Food was great and so was the service. It was kid friendly as well. Sad to see them go.

Dos Coyotes was a weird throwback to the 90s and their menu and decor was like 40 years out of date. They really weren’t able to compete with the more modern offerings other places in Concord.

It seems to me that “authentic” applies mostly to the language spoken by the people who are dining around you.

Having eaten Chinese and Mexican food in other parts of the country, flavors varied by region. How do you tell if what you are eating is “authentic”?

Microwave Mexican “food” and lousy margaritas . not a loss. If their business wad thriving they would not be closing

Ate there once, got food poisoning. Never returned. Always sad to see a business have to close though.

Nooooooo! Excellent food for quick Tex-Mex. Unfortunately the portions were small and the prices were not.

I’m really gonna have to go all the way to Sacramento for another border burrito. :'( The food was good.

They started really good, few months later, service and food was awful.
Even my 12 years old son noticed how bad it was getting.
Whoever was managing that place did not handle it right. Each employee was running the show as they wish.
Hopefully they learned something from this experience.

Big bummer, I liked that place.

I ate lunch there, at least once per week. Went there on Tuesday, only to be greeted by one of the former employees picking up their last paycheck. I’m going to miss the Green Chile Stew, Ranchero Burritos, and Bruce’s Crispy Tacos. My belly is very, very sad.
