The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District on Saturday will host a Fire Prevention Open House in Concord that will feature a realistic fire escape trailer demonstration.
The event, which is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will use heat and theatrical smoke to simulate a real situation, according to the fire district.
The event will be held at the Con Fire Training Grounds at 2945 Treat Blvd.
The demonstration will also be held on Friday at 3 p.m. as a preview for members of the media.
The purpose of the demonstration is to teach the public about techniques to safely escape a fire.
