BART Creates Online Portal For Requesting Public Records

BART announced a new online portal that is meant to make it easier to get public records from the transit agency.

The new portal is at https://bart.nextrequest.com/ and its creation is also aimed at making BART more transparent and efficient.

“We receive over 300 CPRA requests every year,” BART district secretary Patricia Williams said in a statement. “This solution modernizes our approach to those requests.”

BART did not have a way for people to request records online before the portal’s creation. Most of the time it was done via email. Now users can submit, track, receive and pay for documents online.

Users’ ability to track requests, which can be done each step of the way, may be the best feature of the new portal, BART spokesperson Anna Duckworth said.

Members of the public without a computer can still request records by phone at (510) 464-6080 or by fax at (510) 464-6011 or by standard mail addressed to Public Records, c/o District Secretary, BART, 300 Lakeside Drive, 23rd Floor, Oakland, CA 94612.

Where do I start with this one ?

What do you request? Maybe a train at your station at 4pm?

How much will this all cost?I t seems they are looking for places to spend the last fare increase that they didn’t need but for salary increases only.

clean bathrooms daily?

Oh, I misunderstood; I was gonna request “Green Tambourine” by The Lemon Pipers.

How stupid is this? They are in the transit business aren’t they?
Why can’t they run their trains on a timely basis, with a sense of security for their paying ridership, and not have passengers subject to the daily scum hassling them for handouts?
Not to mention the wonderful safe and secure parking structures $$$ they provide.
Thanks for the new “Portal’ BARF!

Some nasty 250 lb. transient just stripped himself naked in front of me to get me to leave my seat so he could RIP it out looking for money. BART service is getting unbearable. It was a mistake to vote for Measure RR. BART has no intention of making this a decent or dependable way to commute. It is no better than a drug infested homeless camp full of crazy drug addicts. Dissolve BART and create some decent transit. BART everything is utterly hopeless. All the same offenders.
