Almost 3,600 PG&E customers are without power in Pleasant Hill this afternoon.

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time, but PG&E says they hope to have all power restored by 6:15 tonight.

Several traffic signals are out in the area, so please use caution and treat all intersections as a four-way stop.

The traffic control lights at the corner of Gregory and Pleasant Hill Road were running normally when I went through at 3:45pm and again at4:30pm.

It’s possible they were off earlier because at 3:45pm I was northbound on Pleasant Hill Road and was surprised the traffic was backed up nearly to Boyd. It took me a couple of light changes to get through the intersection. Normally there is no backup.

Depending on the system, traffic signals have a battery backup that can support the intersection for at least a couple hours.

I got stuck behind someone afraid to take their turn on to Pleasant Hill Road near the old TJ Max 🙄 Another light was out near Safeway, a couple blocks away.

Trying to get everyone that missed out in the last outages? We lost power in Concord yesterday evening. I think PG&E just wants to be “fair” to all.

I said the same thing.

It looked like a blown transformer on Boyd Road, near Mulberry Loop. There were 2 PG&E trucks with cherry pickers working on it when I drove by around 4:50pm.
