Pleasant Hill Police responded to a suspicious incident involving a gunshot victim at Chevron on Contra Costa Blvd.

At about 4:35 p.m., officers responded to the gas station regarding a vehicle seen driving recklessly. An investigation revealed that a vehicle with possible damage from bullet holes was seen in the area and the occupants were asking for help. The vehicle fled the area before police or other emergency personnel could arrive.

A short time later, a person arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Investigators have spoken with that person and determined that the incident occurred outside of the City of Pleasant Hill, although police would not say where the shooting occurred.

The shooting victim is expected to survive.

Getting shot in Pittsburg cant be very convenient with no hospital

Who said anything about Pittsburg? That’s generalization.

Is there a hospital in PH? Other than the animal hospital?

Gittyup September 26, 2019 - 9:43 PM - 9:43 PM

Well, neither does Pleasant Hill.

Gittyup September 26, 2019 - 9:54 PM - 9:54 PM

That does qualify as a suspicious incident. The police would not say, or don’t know?

What exactly was your point? That the police don’t attach their police reports to press releases? That investigations take time? That the police don’t share much information during an ongoing investigation? That it’s not PHPD’s investigation so it’s not their place to release information that might jeopardize another jurisdiction’s investigation? Or are you just trying to make yourself look smart?

You don’t know if he was shot in Pittsburg ….you’re just taking a shot in the dark.

There’s a lot of that going around.

Should be a video somewhere?

Too many guns out there used by too many people. What difference does it make where this person was shot? Very sad and scary.

Police won’t say because it happened on the FREEWAY.
CHP needs more presence (other than babysitting the new commute lane construction @ 680).
Also, HWY 4 is an absolute speedway ~ people always doing 100mph in their 20 year old vehicles with PAPER PLATES & Tinted WINDSHIELDS.

TOTALLY RIDICULOUS

to the average joe, it makes no difference other than curiosity. But… it does make a difference to know where to find evidence??

WC Resident September 27, 2019 - 9:29 AM - 9:29 AM

As PHPD put up “crime scene do not cross” tape at the Chevron station I’d guess that more happened there than a vehicle seen driving recklessly.

I obviously have no inside knowledge, but in P-hill, I’d guess tweakers and some sort of meth deal. What gunshot victim runs when someone calls the police? What was in their car?
