Two people were arrested for fraud at Nordstrom in Broadway Plaza on Tuesday, according to the Walnut Creek Police Department.

The suspects, identified by police as Aida Opaza and Juan Espinoza, were arrested on theft and fraud related charges, as well as involvement in an organized crime ring, police said.

They were in possession of approximately $20,000 worth of merchandise that was purchased fraudulently, according to police.

When was last time you were asked to show ID, when making a credit card purchase ?

It’s California’s redistribution of wealth program at work again.

Great Job WCPD! …. it’s too bad these 2 will be in jail for 2weeks then back out on the streets …. and guess who is going to pay their court costs and attorneys fees … the taxpayers. MCGA!

AND…. As a bonus: They pay No County Related Fees! I’m glad they decided to get caught just in time to take advantage of this incredible offer.

They will be out of jail later today, pay zero fines, do zero time, and get right back to the wash rinse repeat cycle first thing am.

Vote Democrat they said. It would be good for us they said.

gater daze

Great job WCPD and/or Nordstrom Security. It doesn’t look like this couple did too good a job of blending in with the other shoppers. Perhaps they should focus on the Highway 99 corridor next time.

Looks like $140 worth of crap to me, but I can’t zoom the picture.. There may be multiple parties stealing in this story.

@ Atticus Thraxx – I can’t see what is in the small boxes. But as a lover of everything Burberry, I see at least three Burberry items, including the quilted jackets. Expensive but will last a lifetime with proper care. So I can’t disagree with the estimated retail value considering the number of items.

Looks like multiple designer leather purses and leather backpacks, some jewelry, and many, many bottles of fragrances, plus the Burberry.

I’ll take your word for it Mary. I wouldn’t know a Burberry if it bit me on my rear end.

I’ll gladly process the inventory. You might never see it again.

Extra Police presence in the shopping center today. Just a reminder for all of us about the downside of Holiday shopping. 🙁

If I remember correctly… I believe this guys picture was also wanted by police a month ago, or so… for stealing someones wallet and charging up $17,000 on a their credit cards?

Great job WCPD and Nordstrom security!

I’m curious about their residency status – USA borne? US green cards? Illegal entry? Just asking.

They look like they’ve been around the cell block a time or two. Throw away the key. Really sickening that this what has become of the Bay Area.

HOW DARE YOU!!!!
Even though, you will do time with No Relief on “fees” if you do this in Mexico.
You’ll also do Ten years for trying to Vote in Mexico if you’re NOT a citizen.

Just lucky that 108RS did not get them.

108RS

With $20,000 worth they should get some time. I’m sure they will find out this isn’t their first rodeo.

Aida Opaza…… wasn’t she the chick in “The Hateful Eight”?
