Walnut Creek Police have released more photos and videos of the two suspects who they say worked together to steal a wallet from an elderly woman inside Safeway.

Oh gosh, if I could only guess how the “conversation” would have gone if someone would’ve seen this and confronted these two jewels of humanity.
In my opinion those who prey on the elderly or disabled are just as despicable and disgusting as rapists and pedophiles. There’s got to be a special place in hell for people who target the most vulnerable in society. I really hope they throw the book at these cowards and make a humiliating example of them.
You said it!! Anyone who could assault an elderly person, a child, a disabled person, or an animal is a psycho. This poor lady is probably lucky that she didn’t turn around and confront them. They probably would’ve pushed her down, or worse. She lost her wallet but escaped without physical injury. WCPD: please find these lowlifes and get them off the streets.
They have made a vulnerable old woman fearful, now. Really hateful thing to do.

In the before theft video, the thieves were both blatantly acting shifty, and yet none of the people who walked passed them did anything to prevent this. Maybe people are afraid of speaking up. Or maybe their behavior looks stranger on video after the fact, than it did in real life as events occurred. It just looks like it was preventable.
I think it’s the video. When people are shopping they aren’t spending a lot of time watching what other people are doing. Probably didnt seem that odd if just noticed them but kept walking and looking at the shelves. If you stopped and took time to watch you would probably notice. But who stops and watches every single person while shopping?
Now with a better look at the accomplice, they do look like the two in the videos of a pair stealing wallets hung on the backs of chairs at a Walnut Creek restaurant a couple of years ago. The taller one had a very unusual hairstyle, a longer fancy sort of braid in back, as I recall. But, here she’s wearing a blond wig. I have one like it I got at the 99 cent store for Halloween except in white. But, I’d say it’s the same two wonen.
Much better pictures, and hopefully they are being well distributed. Be on the lookout for two females that do not appear to be Caucasian, Hispanic or Asian.
The video shows a lot of suspicious stalking activity poking their heads in and out of the aisle. That should have been spotted, especially with the blonde fright wig.

It is never a good idea for the general public to do or say anything in a situation like that, too volatile and dangerous.You contact a manager they will contact security. I work at Macy Stanford shopping center, security don’t wthen sales personal to do anything, we call security with a description of suspect and location, then they follow suspects on camera, and make an arrest when they have evidence. However sales associates might try to say somethimg like “Are you ready to pay” usually if they know someone is watching them they just leave.
If I saw that happen in front of me I would most definitely call it out and attract as much attention as possible. Obviously, one needs to assess the situation, but these two did not look dangerous.
But when you’re former law enforcement, you say “go ahead, make my day”.

So what is the theft category for this crime? Felony or misdemeanor? Will they be released within 24 hrs from CooCoo County jail. What’s the use?
Only reason to hunt and arrest is to make sure they don’t do it any more, and to compile multiple crime sprees to hopefully put them away for a longer time.
They might not look dangerous, but you never know, if they are willing to steal what else are willing to do, although I’m willing to almost bet my last dollar, if the victim had been a young strong guy, the would not have attempted to steal anything.
Having worked retail for a number of years I can tell you that the people that steal don’t always fit a certain profile, in terms of dress, demeanor etc. I work at Stanford Mall, very upscale, 10 minutes from Atherton, which is one of the wealthiest towns in the US, yet the people that steal, switch tickets (fraud) try to do fake returns, often looks like the can afford anything in the store (Macy’s) can’t always tell a book by it’s cover.
Since it is an elderly person, it’s a misdemeanor and a year in jail. If the woman had a significant amount of money in her wallet, or if they charged her credit cards for a high amount, it could be a felony with 4 years in jail. If they have priors, they will serve more time.

The souls of these thieves are empty, and I have no empathy for them. They each live a life of emptiness. Be grateful this is not the case for you or our society, and our country. The worth of a State, in the long run, is the worth of the individuals composing it. By stealing something, you are inducing suffering in other persons. A healthy society consists of the freedom to pursue a personal interest and do everything which injures no one else. Therefore, the souls of these two are unhealthy for a society and ought to be removed from that society.

Put a sizable reward out for the identity and conviction of these two douche bags. Some knows who they are and just might turn them in for a cash reward.
I would contribute to reward money, and probably a lot of people on this thread would also. People of their nature don’t have any real friends. One of their associates will gladly turn them in.
Compared to all the other videos we see on Claycord these are of much better quality than usual and there are several videos instead of just one.

Safeway has 2 other Walnut Creek locations. They have a store on Tice Vally Blvd. near Rossmoor (which is where many people believe this incident occurred at), and also in the Counrtywood Shopping Center at Bancroft Road and Treat Blvd.
I could be wrong but by the looks of it, this is the one off of Tice Valley Blvd by Rossmoor. I work two minutes away and go to that Safeway frequently. There are lots and lots of elderly there. If it was that Safeway, there could’ve been a number of possible victims. This woman was unfortunately the chose one :/

My guess is that these two scumbags exist in a social circle that will not only be highly entertained by this video, they will use it as a training aid.
Once they are located and if they are receiving Welfare benefits of any kind cut them off immediately and make them pay all they have received back into the system for starters. But again, our great liberal politicians that everyone keeps electing into office, have passed a bill that anything under $950 that is stolen is a freebie with no repercussions.

This quickly went viral even national news. That said little doubt they will be caught with so much media exposure. My hope is just as men in prison kill pedophiles, I hope women in prison beat the crap out of women who victimize elderly. Even prisoners have Mothers and Grandmothers.

In Safeway as well as just about anywhere it is easy enough to go find a checker or a manager or someone who looks responsible to discreetly alert as to what is so clearly very suspicious behavior. They know what to do. There’s often someone working in the office while monitoring cameras too, apparently not this time though. They actually do care about this stuff, it’s a lot easier to nip it in the bud than clean up afterward. I’m not saying I believe any one of the shoppers noticed, I was more focused on the criminals when I watched.
