Transportation officials are planning to close state Highway 4 in both directions at the junction with Interstate Highway 680 to work on part of a public safety improvement project, according to a statement from the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.
The closure will take place from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, Aug. 29.
More closures will take place Sept. 3 and 4.
Detours will be in place.
