Spare The Air Alert Issued For Tuesday

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued a Spare the Air alert for Tuesday, the eighth of the summer season, because of unhealthy levels of smog in the region.

A high-pressure system over the Bay Area is expected to bring high temperatures and delay ocean breezes, causing an unhealthy amount of ozone, otherwise known as smog, to accumulate, according to the air district.

Ozone pollution can be particularly harmful for seniors, youth and those with respiratory or heart conditions. The air district advises people exercising outside to only do so in the early morning hours when the pollution levels are lower.

People are also encouraged to find alternatives to driving alone such as riding public transit or carpooling.

Ban Ozone!

Reminder … NO GAS LEAF BLOWING!

My electric leaf blower makes twice as much noise as a gas-powered one. But hey, at least it’s “green”.

time to toss a few racks in the smoker

That won’t pollute the air… it will only enhance it’s aroma.

So tired of “Spare the Air”. I think we need to call it “Cork those Cows” day.

It’s not the cattle’s fault.

LOL…….well 19% of the methane in the air in California is directly contributed by Cattle Flatulence….at least that’s what Gov Brown based his reason in 2013 for signing a statue based on reducing cow flatulence by 40% by the year 2030. Once again, cork those cows! lol

Time to put down some lacquer paint on the old Hotrod.

You are the boss of me Broadbent. I’ll do as I damn well please.

I’ll be driving. I have a doctor appointment. I can’t get there with public transit, and no one I know is going there. Most of us have no choice but to drive to do what we need to do. The Spare the Air alerts and rather useless.

The Flex Your Power alerts seem pretty useless, too. They come on days when it’s really hot, and that’s when we need the AC. We ended up buying a generator to keep our essentials running when PGE can’t keep up with demand.
