Oh, no! We were wondering what all the commotion was.😞 Thank you, Claycord.

Prayers for all of the families, fire fighters and animals ……

Got woken up at 5am by the emergency cellphone alert then heard a bunch of sirens and trucks go screaming by a little while later

You can hear Cal-Fire response on the free phone app with the Broadcastify

I have lots of questions about the outbreaks of fires of late. How are they being started? Suppose they are investigating….

It is not spontaneous combustion.

@ Ricardoh

Yes, spontaneous combustion is possible.
Hay piles and compost piles can ignite due to
the heat caused by bacterial fermentation.

Shoulda Coulda so are green men from Mars. We all know about SC. Likely hood zero.

A stray piece of glass in intense, hot sun can start a fire, as can the catalytic converter when pulling to the side of the road and stopping over dead, dry grass

@Ricardoh

Its called science. It’s never too late to educate yourself.

@Soulda it is called arson never to late to educate yourself.

I’ve seen compost combust spontaneously, in the rain even.

We live in Curry canyon rd Clayton we are here we can’t know going Know were until is open the morgan territory I hope soon

Huh?

Please seek medical attention. I think you might be having a stroke.

I second that… Huh?

There is very little smoke in the sky for it to be 500 acres.

Listening to the live scanner, they’ve ordered 4 air tankers in. Three are already on-site and dropping on the fire.

Any update on containment ?

Bragdon Branch 300 acres 50% contained
Deer Valley Branch 200 acres 50% contained
West side fire… Not sure branch name..150 acres

Thank you Will for keeping us updated

The SF Chron is reporting that the blaze started as 8 separate fires.

Fire Chief says 12 separate fires on Marsh Creek & Morgan Territory Rd all started around 3 am. Sounds like an arsonist trying to kill some people,

Yes multiple fire starts. A neighbor of family who live out there reported hearing a firecracker or similar sound. Smart money is on arson though it could be anything of course. Also, have heard on social media about people catching “youth from the city” at round valley parking lot trying to set of fireworks. We’ll see…

@Nate. ur smart money wins either way… CA 452PC makes reckless arson just that …arson. setting off firecrackers and such qualifies… enjoy ur big win… u can buy all lunch…

yeah last year same thing too many little fires along hwy4/pits/Antioch/ coincidence …there are none
definitely a fire bug ….seems to be back at it
hear nothing of investigations or even hinting that there is one
i’m not a global worming sky is falling follower just observant and maybe too much scanner watching heh

way too many little fires under suspicious circumstances

Having been in numerous Malibu brush fires and done specific patrol to catch arsonists, this was one stupid arsonist. He/She picked a cool evening, very little wind, a very poor choice.

ok, Randy. I’m sure Facebook is your authority.

I’ve said this before: I can’t count the times I’ve seen idiots throwing their cigarette buts out of their vehicles!

I heard (but did not witness) that some guy was seen throwing FIREWORKS out of a car while driving. Something like that would certainly explain the loud noises heard by folks in the area and the twelve nearly-simultaneous fires.

I hope they catch this guy quickly if they haven’t already.
