More Californians than ever are concerned about climate change making wildfires more severe, according to the Public Policy Institute of California.
According to a new survey released Monday by PPIC, 71 percent of Californians say they are very concerned about wildfires becoming more severe as a result of global warming.
This view is most widely held in the San Francisco Bay Area with 75 percent very concerned, followed by the Inland Empire with 74 percent very concerned, Los Angeles with 72 percent very concerned, and the Central Valley and Orange/San Diego both at 69 percent of residents very concerned.
In addition to wildfires, 49 percent of Californians are very concerned about more severe heat waves as a result of climate change, and 42 percent of Californians are very concerned about rising sea levels.
Well yes as well they should be when entire cities are microwaved and disintegrated overnight that could cause quite the concern now couldn’t it? Yes entire cities disintegrated overnight it does seem a little shady and unrealistic wouldn’t you agree I’m really tired of people saying oh the wind the wind will spread the fire you’re all 5,000 homes will be disintegrated in one night that’s natural no people it’s not natural and it’s most likely only a matter of time when they pull this again on a different city so ask yourself is my city next? Elite arson
so I would like to see the questionnaire
that people signed as fear of global warming for fires
these fires have been started by humans not nature
way to dem it up with the sky is falling
when the media is spewing a one party agenda ….they can never be trusted again ….writers are now making stuff up because there is no one stopping them ….the fear monger tactics are commencing next will be laws to separated and divide and then laws to force you to work for the next reiche for free ……
you media folks must be mighty proud everytime you spin a story into a dem propaganda fueled rhetoric
cant wait for the dems to chime in with ….oh yeah yay stop global warming so we can stop the fires ……
Global warming isn’t going to start the fires….
Do you really think that’s how it works?
Random Task didn’t opine that global warming is going to start fires. As painful as it can be, read the comment again
Global warming creates the fuel for the fires. It’s science.
Global warming creates the conditions for worse fires. The cause isn’t the issue – it’s the increasingly poor conditions facilitating them.
Science has you beat, random web poster.
How about we build some more? That will keep everyone safe.
Kind of a sneaky way for a “charity” (PPC) to muddy the political waters, under the pretense of a question regarding forest fires.
I’m with Random Task. Show us the actual survey and the “people” they spoke with..
Most likely these are the same “people” who continue to vote taxes upon themselves and their fellow citizens.
Global warming. The Democrat hand in your other pocket.
Gee, I looked outside and the climate has already changed since this morning..
*Free Baltimore”
Fail. Let’s all cut and paste:
List of scientists who disagree with the scientific consensus on global warming: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scientists_who_disagree_with_the_scientific_consensus_on_global_warming
Global warming…created by the Chinese and swallowed by the Democrats because after the Cold War ended, they were left with nothing else to lie about.
What you should be worried about is what goes on in your kid’s classroom. Big problem there.
Some pretty sharp cookies posting here. My favorite is the one who discovered fires are caused by man. I guess they got rid of lightning.
Whole climate change thing is , of course, a Chinese plot.
And, yet, this is one of the mildest Summers I can ever remember.
Global Warming, Climate Change, Mother Nature, or Man Made Accident.
Lots of things can start a fire,…even Earthquakes in cities.
Can’t control or stop all the fires, but can put up some safe guards in populated areas to reduce damages. It depends where you live too.
I think the point was “These scientists have said that it is not possible to project global climate accurately enough to justify the ranges projected for temperature and sea-level rise over the 21st century. They may not conclude specifically that the current IPCC projections are either too high or too low, but that the projections are likely to be inaccurate due to inadequacies of current global climate modeling”.
In other words the egg heads are not quite as infallible as they think they are.
@Jelly – the “eggheads” release a report that concludes there are uncertainties in their models and then you accuse them of claiming to be infallible? No real scientist claimed to be infallible. Every study has limits, read the footnotes. Unless you are thinking about the “science” from Liberty University.
All PPIC Statewide Surveys include interviews with at least 1,700 California adults.
Right you are Jojo… you have a good point.
The “Scientists” gave themselves a little disclaimer, so let me rephrase
my statement to be more to the point:
“In other words the egg heads are not quite as infallible as every low info, sign waving, angry Liberal seems to think they are”.
OK?
