It’ll be another hot day in Contra Costa County today.

The National Weather Service says the county should see highs of 104-degrees.

Do not leave children or pets inside your vehicle if you go out today.

Overnight in Walnut Creek, the temperature was 80-degrees at 2 a.m.

long as I don’t have to work in it, I rather enjoy the hot. A cool beverage on the patio, some beef in the smoker…. Livin’! I do worry about those who it effects………… Check in on your folks please….

Accuweather claimed it would be cooler today, but I’m not buying it. My backyard weather station in south PH reads 93.7* now (11:52 AM), 7* warmer than yesterday. High yesterday was 103.1*. Low this morning of 59* at 6:30 AM, which is a bit odd as low temp usually happens about 1 hr before sunrise, which was 6:08 AM today.

Ms Fouts,

The reason that it’s hotter today is because as you pointed out, that it never cooled off much last night and therefore it is warmer today than yesterday.

I’ve rarely trusted (In)Accuweather. NWS said hotter today than yesterday. Trying to keep it cool in Pittsburg. 😎

Out at work this morning about 7:30 installing remote PLC I/O enclosure and conduit and it felt rather warm for that early.
Went back to my shop and checked nearby weather station on internet, humidity was 68%. As day progressed humidity dropped and wind picked up making work more enjoyable.

Back porch right now is 96 degrees and 20% humidity.

96 on porch at 4:30pm. Cooling since then. Nice breeze, 7:00pm 92 on porch. If it cools to 59 as promised, I will be very happy.

Mary Fouts – What make of weather station are you using? Do you send data to Weather Underground?

I’m a bit cold blooded so can stand the house getting up to 82 degrees without running the AC. Reflective shingles keep the house cool. Those time and temperature signs have been known to be placed wrong for accuracy. The wind was brisk, tide up, cool and white caps at the waterfront. The marina has a website where the weather there can be checked. The farmer’s market was very crowded.

Okay then, sounds like time to needlessly take my dog with me in the car and run a bunch of errands, don’t worry, I’ll park in the shade and leave windows cracked, that will keep the car nice & cool while I’m inside the store for 10+ minutes.

Warm days like this are when you find out just how much the neighbors like Zucchini.

I’m jealous!

At least it’s not Arizona hot. I was once in Scottsdale and it was 113 at 3am. The hotel pool water was 105.
