Taco Bell, located on Clayton Rd. in Concord, is about to get a makeover.
On the outside, the building will be repainted with a new color, and the parking lot will be repaved.
The interior remodel includes upgrading the bathrooms to current ADA standards, adding a new tile floor in the dining and restroom areas, and replacing the old dining room furniture and wall tile with a more modern version.
The upgrade is expected to cost about $300,000.
Here are a few pictures of what it might look like, courtesy of the City of Concord:
Oh good. I offten drive down Claycord road thinking what a beautiful area it would be if they only painted the Taco Bell.
That made my day!!! LOL
LMAO!!! I didn’t think it was all that bad compared to say ummmmm Jack in the Box! Or Burger King (Treat and Clayton)
Good one!
I’ll do it for half that.
I’ll supervise.
Business must be good! We’d never “dine” there, though. Our home-cooked Mexican fare is really good, the atmosphere is quieter, we probably won’t get some intestinal disorder, and we’re less likely to get shot in a crossfire.
You don’t eat Taco Bell because you want Mexican food. You eat Taco Bell because you want Taco Bell.
I think I stand corrected. Tacos? Not Mexican? Enchiladas? Not Mexican? Burritos? Not Mexican? Nachos? Not Mexican?
Maybe not.
Taco Bell is not Mexican food. Taco Bell is Taco Bell. I also would not consider it Mexican food. Sorry *shrugs*.
Love TB! But I hope the “new” paint job isn’t the drab grays like they did the one on Contra Costa Blvd/Pacheco. Ugly AF!
HAAAAAAAAHAHA
I hope they do most of the work on the inside because the “concept art look almost exactly like the picture. 300K for some rock work and new paint.
Exactly, I think it’s honestly pathetic when people spend all this money and resources for these very pointless superficial changes that you only might notice
But it’s still a Taco Bell, right?
Once again, your never see local family owned restaurants doing this Only chain restaurants.
Why can they do this? Because they are serving GARBAGE.
I wish they could make it like the one in Pacifica 🙂 Beer, wine and tacos!
Because they have an ocean. We just have traffic.
Another “lipstick on a pig” remodel. Just like Treat Plaza
Bring back El Taco!
Ditto
Why not save the $$ and advertise the area’s only retro Bell? The 80’s are making a comeback you know….
Then they could bring back the 79cent taco….and maybe Tab?
good! I was in their the other day and the floor was flooded and ants were all over one wall.
think ill wait for the makeover!
That means that ants live there regularly but the flood displaced them from their safe floor home, and to the employees(and customers) this is just normal.(Hello, health dept?)
Might want to use that money to train and hire more staff the wait times are atrociously long
Well they will have to sell a lot of 2 for a dollar tacos to cover the cost. 600,000 of them if you don’t include the cost to make them! 😂
They are going from vibrant, energetic colors to ho-hum boring colors. I’m surprised they didn’t go with gray for the color, like Treat Plaza. To me, gray is cold and drab; not appealing at all, and not at all eye-catching.
It goes with what Concord is trying to be and look like.A low income, uncleaned lawless area that’s some call a city.
We need Jim Boys here. The closest one is in Fairfield. Oh and we need to bring back Arby’s.
Yes, I would love to have a Jimboy’s here! When I go to areas that have one (Fairfield, Sacramento) I have to bring some home to Martinez.
Did they ever fix the sewer gas smell that hit you in the face when you walked in? Maybe the price seems so ridiculous because they have to re-plumb the place.
This place is my 90’s summer childhood memories of riding bikes or walking down there with neighborhood friends.
Any business that updates it’s exterior and interior is highly commendable. We need more of this! This improves the city. Modernizing the kitchen will hopefully make it more efficient.
