A vehicle crashed into at least one mobile home and a fire hydrant Sunday evening, sparking a small grass fire and causing two injuries in the Pacheco area of unincorporated Contra Costa County.
The crash occurred at an address on Via Peralta in the Rancho Diablo Mobile Home Park near Buchanan Field Airport around 8:35 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
Two patients were transported to a hospital, although details about the nature of their injuries were not immediately available.
Drugs and alcohol are not thought to have been factors in the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

First tornados go after mobile homes; then hurricanes; now clueless drivers.
Not clueless driver hunn, they lost control when brakes went out. You guys assume and misjudged people without knowing what truly happened. Remember God is the only one who can judge us at the end of the day.
Then they must have been going 45-50 in a 5 mph zone.Nice save.
The day is still young.
@ Jocelyn
The brakes don’t go out on a car like that. She was clearly speeding and probably texting with a child in the car. And that’s is completely unacceptable. CPS needs to get involved and take the child away if she was indeed speeding and texting. This sounds like a dangerous situation.
Not a clueless driver. Witnesses said they saw a large truck behind her that hit her back bumper. I live in this neighborhood and talked to the people who got the woman and her child out of the car.
@ Sam
Can you please explain to me why that wasn’t in the police report if it’s true? Funny how the people who got her out the car said nothing about a truck hitting her to the police. According to Jocelyn her brakes went out but according to you a truck hit her. Sounds like her family members trying to make excuses for her. Tell her to own up to her mistakes. She was clearly speeding and or texting with a child in the car which is clearly unacceptable. The truth will come out!!
Looks like someone was driving in a rage.
How do you know it’s not a medical condition??
Because your a Libbie that needs to contradict and disagree with anything you see or hear until you see “proof” then “poof” you disappear.
Yes, and I want proof before I shoot my mouth.
That’s a high speed crash that had nothing to do with brakes other than they didn’t touch the brake pedal. The reason they have spped limits is too be able to stop in a timely fashion if something goes wrong, like brake failure.at 5-10 mph .which is the speed limit in that park, would be just enough to stop the car from rolling if it hit something.
The car was driving on Marsh St. (Road..) not in the mobile home park. Based on what I saw (I happened to be driving by when I saw the small fire and water spewing) the driver looked to be heading south (coming from Solano headed towards Center) and lost control right at the curve.
did you read the article?it happened INSIDE the mobile home park.
Eliae is correct.
She was driving down Marsh at a high rate of speed, never touched the breaks, launched through the hydrant, over the wall, and landed INSIDE the mobile home park on Via Peralta in someones yard. Everyone lived. Amazingly with minor injuries.
So, Jon S, you can’t always believe what the news says.
That corner on Marsh drive can easily be negotiated without touching the brakes, unlees youre going 65+ and not paying attention.Brakes don’t fail much anymore unless you’ve been driving on bad brakes for 2 months and spending money on things other than car maintenance. That is purely human error.Blame the object. That sounds familiar.
We live in that park and were driving home about five miknutes after it happened. We saw the small fire and a broken hydrant spewing water in the air. There were plenty of people there but no authorities yet. We found out later the driver was going about 100 and didn’t make the turn. I looked this morning. She turned but not enough. She went between a power pole and its support line, taking out a power box and the hydrant, making a straight line to the houses they hit. The car was going so fast it went in the air, cleared the retaining wall and hit the two mobile homes. It was 8:35 but it was still light out. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as factors? Seriously? She had a small child with her!
