A three-alarm fire is burning at a roofing supply business at 2120 Piedmont Way in Pittsburg.
The first call came in at 2:39 p.m. and the fire quickly elevated to a second and third alarm.
The blaze, clearly visible from Highway 4, has spread to a structure at the business and then ignited grass across the nearby abandoned train tracks.
A huge plume of smoke is visible.
Thanks to Lisa Lemus for the photo.
I saw the smoke! That makes me cool
WOW! I hope everyone’s okay! Excellent picture Lisa!
I sure hope it’s not a spare the air day. That would be a very large fine!
Stay away from Pittsburg. Air quality is horrible!! Stay inside, hunker down.
There goes the savings from the smog control systems on about ten million cars.
Wow! Where are the Spare the Air people?
Saw the smoke – didn’t know what or where it was.
Roofing material – nasty stuff when it’s burning.
I drove by that fire on my way home from the grocery store, these fires are back-to-back around here and fire season for the year has barely just begun.
That is one ugly fire.
KTVU.com is reporting that the three alarm fire has been contained…
Ew. Which way is the wind blowing?
