For the second time in two months, a vermin infestation has closed Andy Sushi on Locust St. in Downtown Walnut Creek.

The restaurant was closed on Monday after inspectors say they found the infestation, although they haven’t released details on what kind of vermin was located.

The restaurant was previously closed on June 20 of this year after inspectors found dozens of cockroaches.

Just eat at home & avoid going out !!!!

What happens when you find something bad at home??? Will you never eat again???

Do people who willing eat raw fish & drink squid ink really mind a few cockroaches running around?

It’s probably just a thing with inspectors.

You would think with all of these restaurants being closed the owners would do a better job of cleaning up on their own.

Anyone can take a reasonable guess that the management from these small private restaurants only care about the money bottom line. Either it’s about money or staying afloat a reasonable guess would be more focus on those two things then cleaning.

Sounds to me like the entire area is infested. Not surprising since we had a very wet winter last year and a very dry one this year. All the vermin had a great amount of breeding and now they are all looking for water and food.

What i’m really interested in is how many inspections have passed versus how many have failed. Also what are the statistics like compared to previous years. If you go to the County website they have had 618 closures (not sure if this was just for this year as there isn’t an easy way to get to the last page). https://hsdmobile.cchealth.org/ffinspectionsearch/InspectionSearch.aspx?AgencyID=2

Yep, they have excellent reviews and a 4-star rating on Yelp.

The hand waving here is insane. My home kitchen doesn’t have cockroaches or rats and I absolutely expect the same from a professional kitchen.

What are the communities doing to help eradicate rats and mice in and near the restaurants? Or is it only the responsibility of the reastaurants?

Man I love the Dirty Dining stories and links! I’ve saved so much money since I started reading these and just don’t bother to go out to eat any more! Hah!
