175 teachers were absent from school today in the Mount Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD), according to MDUSD Superintendent Dr. Adam Clark.
59 of those teachers did not have substitutes, Dr. Clark said.
Administrators and other credentialed staff stepped in to cover, and some classes were divided and those students went to work with other teachers, According to Dr. Clark.
Due to HIPPA laws, at this point, the district cannot say if these absences are due to positive COVID-19 tests, quarantine due to exposure, other illnesses or caring for a family member.
Prior to winter break, the district passed out at-home COVID-19 tests to all students, teachers and support staff to take before they returned to school today.
And this comes as a surprise? I’m surprised parents even send their kids to school, but they need them as babysitters I’m sure.
I’m glad to see they can’t state why they are absent.
Embrace the future people, it’s has arrived.
I actually do not send my kids to school because they need a baby sitter. I send them to school to be educated in aspects of life that I cannot teach them. For example, they are learning more math and foreign languages than me.
How do you expect childrent to learn in today’s world?
We will find out soon enough at the schools if they were COVID … the local schools are notifying parents when someone has tested positive and their last day on campus.
Social skills are important to learn at school as well
A babysitter? You say…boy, are you far out with the way you think. How about an Education, the ability to think on your own, to be a productive person rather than a drain. Haven’t the children been abused enough with not being able to go to school because of the powers of be controlling every move we make? Perhaps, the old President should have closed the borders and international flights to prevent the ongoing spread of COVID.
Did you used to work for the Oakley school board?
Yeah, all they do in public is essentially babysit. Most are not even worth that much. That’s why we go to private. Our teachers are not playing these games with us. They actually care. But, Taco, I can tell you are in the same category as most public school teachers… fairly dim.
“I’m surprised parents even send their kids to school”
Wow! This sounds right in line with other comments by Torco. In addition to hating law enforcement (there’s usually a reason when people hate cops to that extent. 😉 ), he apparently has the same opinion about the educational system. While it’s far from perfect (especially in the MDUSD), I would bet most believe teachers are of greater importance than being babysitters!
I thought tomorrow would be the future 🙂
Sounds like an unsanctioned sick out to me.
… or vaccine mandates have not allowed teachers to set foot on campus? Possibility? Probability?
All you have to do is go to the store and you’re more than likely exposed to it. What a joke these “teachers” have become.
Jokes? I am not sure if you are fully aware, but the teachers are following very strict rules. They do not create them. Did you want them to stay home all day, everyday, so they can’t build natural immunity? You should see what the requirements are to substitute…since the teachers who are working very hard to fill educational gaps and who have also become huge emotional supports for their students, aren’t meeting your criteria. Just a food for thought… you sound like a really positive person. I’m sure students would love to be around you..
The teachers are setting the rules.. first they need to be vaccinated before they go back to in-person instruction, now the children need to be vaccinated and boosted, then they all need to be tested after being vaccinated and boosted. What a vicious cycle of self-fulfilling prophecy…
The district should have waited until Monday to start, and require negative test results from all staff and students. By starting too early, just wait until next week and there will be even more absences after all the exposure this week.
This is ridiculous. People who have this argument are just not very bright because you don’t realize it would never end. Push school back? They will keep pushing it back. There is no reason to do so. This is a COLD.
This is just a very small part of the story… how many KIDS were absent? That is what I’m wondering.
ALOT
@oh please… a cold? Tell that to my husband who was on a ventilator for a month with less than a 50% chance of survival. Tell him he cannot walk very far without becoming extremely exhausted because he had a cold. Tell him the shooting nerve pain he now has throughout his legs is a cold.
I am sorry that your husband had pre-existing conditions. But, yes. This is classified as a cold. Unhealthy people can certainly die from a cold or, pneumonia, that can be caused by this. So, yes. It IS a cold and is classified in every medical source as such. I would be more than happy to tell him this and to refer you to many medical sources. The folks at risk can choose to squirrel themselves away, but leave everyone else alone. Just because you are emotional about this does not mean that you and those like you should get to decide for everyone else.
It’s spelled a lot.
At least 4 pre existing conditions.
I really wonder why his nerves are irritated. 🤔
Watch the charter school enrollment shoot up.
Government (“public”) schools closed all throughout Chicago because the CTU overwhelmingly voted to go back to online immediately….won’t be shocked if MDEA pulls the same thing.
Xi Jinping’s weaponized virus is mutating, as expected, into a more virulent and less deadly infection. I don’t run around wearing a mask when I go to the store, Church, etc… We had a masked family come (late) to our Church, sat down for maybe 5 minutes, and then left. They were the only ones wearing masks. The rest of us were able to worship freely!

When a black communist from Berkeley who has no relevant experience other than a “non profit” feels she is at home working on the MDUSD board then we have reached peak stupid
This district is nothing but a political tool for the democrat Marxist cult
It is no longer serving the students or the parents
It exists to serve a corrupt anti-white and anti- American agenda
Time to break up MDUSD and return to single community districts with only parents serving on boards
Yep. You get what you get from black communists. Good luck kids.
Why do you feel the need to list a person’s race?
“Why do I feel the need to list the persons race?”
Your team has found it profitable to invoke race for decades. What’s the problem?
Sam, the problem is you making broad generalizations about people relating to race and other things. And you just proved your point with your comment because I am not on any one team, but you assumed I was. Nothing will ever get resolved with people like you being so rude and divisive.
Oh you’re on the team alright. You’re on the team trying to act like you’re not is exactly what your team does. You sound like one of those fake insurrection people.
All of a sudden we care about HIPAA when teachers have been forced to state whether they’ve been vaccinated? Come on, it’s all covid-related. California, in its infinite wisdom decided to send home tests to all and then ignores the CDC’s study (and several other studies, but we will not mention them here because they only care about the FDA, CDC, Newsom and Fauci) on the useless tests. The tests cannot distinguish between influenza and covid. Additionally, the tests are not reliable.
Enough is enough: I’m confused, if a person’s test was positive for flu OR Covid, if they are experiencing symptoms, are you saying they should go to work? If the tests truly are flawed as you say, and when a positive test result cannot distinguish between Covid and the flu, should the person be responsible for determining which it is and go to work hoping it’s just the flu, which you have deemed appropriate to go to work with? I’m just going to put this out there, you know, to see if it sticks: when a person is sick, they should NOT go to work. Wild, I know, because Americans prioritize work and money over everything else, but if you are sick, you should stay home… especially if it is a communicable, possibly deadly virus. Just some crazy, out of the box thinking.
Stand in line to get a test. Catch covid that doesn’t show up on the test you are standing in line for. You got to love the communist Chinese.
Every teacher that participated in this needs to be fired immediately, the teacher’s union needs to be abolished they have failed our children at every level. If you can look for other alternatives enough is enough…
Do you get fired from your job if you are sick and unable to go to work?
It sounds like you are against them getting special “hero pay”
Teachers are public servants, they are accountable to taxpayers.
As a teacher in the district who was present at work today, I can say that 100%, without a doubt, there was zero discussion of a sick-out. Teachers are humans, and they are getting sick with the same frequency as the rest of the population. 175 teachers out of how many? Additionally, staff were out across the board, from custodians to campus supervisors, SEAs, office staff and food services all had shortages today because of the massive increase in positive cases, additionally teachers were given at home kits so maybe staff who had no symptoms tested positive and are required to stay home (or risk lying and spreading it on campus).
Also, you should know that teachers are collegial and we know that when we call sick, it’s often up to our coworkers to fill the missing spots because of the massive sub shortage. It’s stressful and makes so many feel guilty for taking a day off. Before Covid, my colleagues would come to work walking zombies with colds, fevers, migraines, the flu and so much more just so they didn’t have to put out their coworkers (and often friends).
Let’s separate teachers from the teachers union. As HolySpiritActivate said, teachers are collegial; the teachers union is the scum of the earth.
So in this cohort of “good” teachers are we counting the ones who openly and proudly indoctrinate their students with kook America-hating leftist ideology? You know, like the crazy eyes whackadoodle who, on video, sneers and talks about how she put up a rainbow flag in place of the Stars & Stripes to which students can salute? Or how bout the two cat lady teachers who detailed how Zoom school was awesome because they could snoop on kids’ internet searches and then target them to join a trans student group without parental knowledge? Of course that’s just a smidge of the myriad examples of their ilk…like the admitted Antifa soi boi who is one of my kid’s teachers at Northgate. Am I supposed to presume they’re a tiny minority? I don’t, I know they’re the majority.
KBB- that is impossible. The teachers ARE the union. The union does what the teachers say. If the teachers were against any of this, they would pull their membership They do NOT have to join the union. Any teacher that proudly belongs to MDEA is an ENEMY of children.
taking a page out of the Chicago Teachers Union playbook

Everyone is preoccupied with Covid.
Do a little research about what MDUSD pulled on the teacher over the last few years…….. In the years leading up to Covid…. Teachers were not given a raise (cost of living) for years. MDSU agreed to a raise (like 5%) but they demanded that a percentage of staff would be let go. This happened.
But then Covid hit. MDSU pocketed the money from the 40+ employees they let go for almost 2 years. The money that was supposed to cover teacher raises. The teachers didn’t get the money. Then in the Fall of 2021 MDSU offered like a 2-3% raise… That’s less than what the offered 5 years ago!
https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/12/23/strike-talk-begins-as-mount-diablo-unified-teachers-union-reach-an-impasse/
With students graduating HS with a 7th grade education at best… why do they deserve a raise?
When the schools have 3/10 rating then they can kick rocks.
!. Why do they deserve a raise when they refuse to teach and do their jobs?
2. Where does that money come from when they refuse to allow teachers to be fired?
3. How is this sustainable when they fire only the newest hired versus the most effective?
I know all the research, but it sounds like you do not.
lots of flights cancelled too….coincidence?
Too many teachers frightened for their health AND THE HEALTH OF THE CHILDREN are stuck in Cancun, Hawaii, Florida and every other place they went for the holidays to party with their people unmasked and not 6′ apart.
The teachers’ unions are public enemy #1. I’m sorry to say that I used to differentiate between the evil union and the individual teachers, but the longer the individuals don’t stand up against the union, the more culpable they are as people.
If you were to look into the past you will find out that teachers have done this after Christmas break for years.
They better not send the kids home and make the parents be the teachers again. No more 2 hours of instruction and mom or dad do the rest. We were doing our career jobs and theirs. Just postpone school until they can resume normal. Im not paying taxes to do their job,
MDEA is in Impasse with the District. So this was a work stoppage tactic. Had nothing to do with COVID – just a means to have a sick out. MDEA is so obvious – their leadership is really stupid. But, then again, the Board is really stupid. The kids are now officially the pawns in the war between MDUSD and MDEA. No won wins and the kids lose big time.
Considering the Chicago school union just voted to strike/sick out, I’m sure it’s spreading. The unions feel like they have the wind at their backs since the labor market is so tight, so they are going for it. Meanwhile, those same teachers expect the food will be on the shelf at the store for them to buy when they get hungry. Some animals are more equal than others.
Risk and sacrifice is for the underclass. Teachers consider themselves to be part of the white collar upper class. It’s your right to work from home and minimize your risk if you are a part of that class.
Your so right, it is a sick out. And MDEA and the board is the reason why the district has no money for a contract. MDEA=greed board= reckless spending. When A independent auditor comes in and does your books and tells you that you are millions in the whole, if the Union can give proof that the district has money then employees should get their contract, but they don’t. #kids1st
Just more childish games from the individuals who claim to care so much about the children. I’m telling you, these are the most selfish, arrogant little brats of our society. They have been brainwashing kids for generations. Nothing but agenda driven socialists who never grew up. Fire them all by removing your children from their presence. You really do not want these people around your kids.
I’ll defend most of fhe teachers. I think most of them want to do a good job and help kids become good educated citizens. And admin level overhead in the schools is so insanely out of control, I have no doubt the teachers have valid grievances with “management.” I’d like to see a 20% cut in administration across the board. They can start with the diversity officers.
Just the same, I think everyone has forgotten who serves who in public schools. They have a government mandated service that you can’t opt out of, and they collectively behave as such. If teachers have a legitimate grievance, they need to plead their case to the customers, that is the parents, if they want support. You can’t just go go war with management and tell your customers to ef off.
Lol. I’ve worked grocery for the last two years, and my company has offered to pay for zero tests. Only time they test you is if you have a known exposure, which I have not. Must be nice to be part of the ruling class.
The more you test, the more asymptomatic cases you will find. And since we are all going to get the Omnicr0n, I don’t understand the point. If you feel sick, stay home until you feel better. If you don’t, go to work/school. I mean, test or no test, the procedure after is the same.
The war on covid is over. Covid won. Might not be too late to get the Vax if you want to improve your odds a little, but other than that, its done.
I would like to know why the author of this article chose to specifically write about teacher absences today and not include absences from other school staff. Classified staff, cafeteria staff, custodial staff, office staff, site techs, transportation, campus supervisors, on-campus daycare staff, and others were absent as well. Morale among MDUSD school faculties are at an all time low due to being disrespected and unsupported by both the district office personnel and parents. The comments here prove that this community does not value the hard work of our educators. Some needed to call out sick due to needing to care for an ill child of their own that could not attend their own school. As a MDEA member who is always honest, I will tell you there was absolutely NO discussion of a sick-out. We all care about our students too much to do that…especially the day returning from winter break. Please show your child’s teacher a little love. We are continuing to navigate teaching in a pandemic which we were NOT trained for. This is taking a toll on our mental health, and we need our community to stay as positive as possible for us and most importantly, for our students.
Fair enough, I take your word on it. Cases are surging like crazy, and it will get worse for a couple more weeks.
The stress of teaching in a pandemic is all government created (along with union demands). Nothing has changed for me in retail other than the stupid mask I’m required to wear and a pro forma temperature scan at the start of shift. Kids are not at risk from the virus and should be treated as such. Teachers are more so, but everyone has had a year to get the shot. At this point there isn’t anything else we can do. The constantly flip flopping policy edicts and forcing the kids home are ridiculous theater. I’m sorry you are caught in the middle, and its not fair for parents to take their frustration out on you. But the circus is totally unnecessary and useless. Put the kids back in the classroom and leave them there.
Understand, the frustration stems from seeing the teachers getting far more consideration and leeway than the rest of us. None of us like dealing with the pandemic, but sooner or later we have to get on with our lives and stop hiding. I did about a month after the first lockdown everyone else needs to cowboy up and get back to living.
@Teacher. Thank you for that post.
I am not sure why many are so against the teachers. My son is a recent graduate of the MDUSD system. He graduated with 3.5 GPA and was well prepared to enter college upon graduation. He was not a naturally high achieving student and had to work very hard to achieve this. His teachers were always there through the years to ensure that he was successful. While we have encountered a few teachers that were far below the level of competent and/or caring, the VAST majority of educators were extremely caring. To blankety blame the teachers is wrong. The trouble with the MDUSD is at the administrative and union levels.
Poor morale can be a killer in any profession. I hope others will lighten up on the teachers and focus your anger where it belongs. We need to gut the administration and dissolve/replace the teachers union. Our children need to get back in school and get back on track. The harm done by COVID will be evident in the years to come. Enough us enough!
The writer probably chose teachers because it shocks the public conscious.
Sadly, in education field non-teaching positions are still though as 2nd class employees; if not less.
People do not recognize or accept that with out all the other non-teaching positions the system would collapse.
@teacher,
What would go a long way to improving my, and many others’, view of government school teachers is for you people to get out of the business of indoctrinating our kids with America-hating leftist ideology. But not only do the vast majority you people not push back against it, you embrace it, you promulgate it.
You gaslight us with BS like “we don’t teach CRT”, all the while I’m seeing my kid’s assignments from multiple teachers where that tripe is imbedded…oh sure, you don’t trot out a unit called “Critical Race Theory” or “1619 Project”, but the whack ideals, the insane tenets of it are there, like why in the cornbread f***, in a Calculus class, is my kid having write an essay about “privilege” in math? Now before anyone dusts off the lame retort of “oh here’s another parent who doesn’t want his kids to learn about slavery”, let me say I absolutely want my kids to learn about slavery, Jim Crow (and the political party that created/supported it then opposed civil rights)…what I don’t want taught is a warped view of America, and assigning guilt/oppressor status/victimhood to kids today based on their skin color.
Another example, history teacher, proudly admits Antifa affiliation and brags about blocking 680 during 2020 summer of love, is obsessed with Trump, with nearly every lesson and assignment reflective of that psychosis. And these can’t be dismissed as one-offs, because it’s EVERYWHERE and way too many teachers agree with and push it. And it’s not just teachers, it’s the BOE, it’s MDUSD Board…I’ll never forget Nzewi in one of the Zoom meetings last year blaming white parents with their privilege for wanting their kids back in school…no gasps, no rebukes, just nods of agreement or silence. Tell me again why I’m supposed to feel sorry for teachers…?
If you are a union member, YOU are part of the problem. The teachers and the union are NOT separate as they want you to believe. Why would they be? The union does what the teachers want. Please think about that.
The absences includes that elementary music teacher DM that was arrested, correct? I wonder when his trial will be? Our kids deserve better.
Maybe some of the teachers who led students off school grounds to march through Treat Blvd and shopping centers during the riots of 2020.
Northgate had its out from MDUSD and voted against it. Blew it. Thanks.
Because a bunch of idiot wuss white parents bent the knee to the pro-MDUSD “progressive activists” who did what they’ve done every time this comes up: call anyone supporting getting out of the s-hole known as MDUSD a “racist”. So you get the well-to-do white parents who KNOW their kids are far better off not being in MDUSD, but they’re spineless cowards who can’t abide being called racist so they vote against the best interests of their very own kids.
I work for this district and at home test kits were NOT offered to staff. I believe CPHS handed them out to staff and students as they should have but have not heard any other MDUSD schools that offered staff the at home kits.
Who cares? Please quit.
CHS gave one to every staff member and to any students who wanted them.
Sounds like a walk out of sorts to send a message
Do you want these kinds of teachers teaching your children?
You all sound like Babies. There’s over 3,600 teachers in the MDUSD. Pretty sure you wouldn’t want a sick or exposed teacher stuck in a classroom with your kid all day..
Cursory look at HIPPA laws indicates that they are to protect individuals. In fact, hospitals spew numbers all the time re Covid.
So does someone smarter then me ( most posters ) know if the districts refusal to cite numbers re sick teachers is a valid use of HIPPA or is the district playing hide and seek with us again?
I work at an elementary site within MDUSD (I’m part of the classified staff). All students and staff were offered the at home antigen Covid test kits prior to closing for winter break. We had a lot of students absent today; some parents reported the reason why, others didn’t. As for staff on our campus, we had two teachers out. One has been out all year, non Covid related. The other teacher was home sick. Both classrooms had a qualified substitute in place. We had only one other person out today due to illness. A staff of approximately 50. There was no sick out on our campus……..
@Anon That is not correct, Not every student and staff were offered the tests. My site and the email sent out last week stated the at home tests were for students only.
So what !!!!! Teachers are people and the first and foremost is to their health and their families. First !!!!! Get that straight from the get go !!!
@holyspiritactivate …👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Sounds like an awful lot of vaccinated people with the ‘rona…hope it was worth it lmao
All the people saying teachers should quit , who is going to replace them? Unhappy with your school or district ? Send your kids elsewhere . You’ve always had the freedom to do so . Stop being crybabies and make a change if you want it
Nobody needs teachers like the current group. Who will replace them? Anyone off the street could do a better job.
“Unhappy with your school or district ? Send your kids elsewhere . You’ve always had the freedom to do so . Stop being crybabies and make a change if you want it.”
The most moronic statement on Claycord to date. Most people can’t afford to send their children elsewhere. Do you know how the public school system operates? Your school is determined by your zip code.
Our public education system has a cancer, and school choice is the only cure.
Hire anyone off the street? And after they hire anyone off the street, there will be new complaints on Claycord calling for their jobs as well, correct? What a stupid suggestion. Then pay for private school for your kids. That’s always a choice.
Good point tod. Just send everyone home and don’t bother replacing them. Better off that way for sure.
Tod and Jaime should go bowling. They are either independently wealthy and extremely out of touch with the normal working people, or they are completely clueless.
Many people cannot “pay for private schools”, they can’t afford it. The freedom you speak of simply does not exist.
Teacher Certification at the level it is today is a joke. I don’t see that more teacher accreditation equates to better educational outcomes.
We ALL pay for the schools. These are public employees and are payed by taxpayers. If the police were doing a poor job, I’m sure jamie and tod would speak up. It zero different. PUBLIC EMPLOYEES.
I should NOT have to pay for private school. I pay a ton in taxes already to pay for public schools. However, those schools are out of touch and just a big brainwashing system of people who don’t want to teach. We go to private, but will also push for school choice. Why should your money not follow your kid to whatever educational institution is best? Other states do this. Force the public schools to actually do something for once and compete to retain your kid.
@ON DA
Listen up. It’s the children who are first, and it sounds like YOU had better be the one that gets that straight. The “people” you’re defending didn’t even arrange for subs. They were just demonstrating how much they really care about the students and according to you, showing that they’re first and foremost. I know, so what?
Care to share the source of your claim that they did not arrange for subs? I’ll even let you go even more broad and ask you to explain to me how one arranges a sub in a district where there are not enough subs and many of the ones on file do not take calls or requests to sub because WE ARE IN A PANDEMIC and they are retired teachers who are high risk. So many Claycordians tell people to “stay home if they’re high risk” and then when they do that, your response is to blame the teacher who is out sick? Please make it make sense.
@HolySpiritActivate
Sure, I’ll share the source of my claim, teacher……he’s called the MDUSD Superintendent and his name is Dr. Adam Clark; and had you actually done the work and read this article, you would have known that. You also asked me to explain to you how to arrange for a sub, which in itself is pathetic since you claim to be a teacher, but I’ll give it a shot…… how about just picking up a telephone and asking? Was that broad enough for you?
@Cyn
Just because Dr. Adam Clark says 59 of those assignments didn’t have substitutes doesn’t mean 59 teachers didn’t “pick up the telephone”. Teachers report an absence (and it’s actually done on computers these days), and then filling it depends on having a substitute accepting that job. If a substitute doesn’t accept an assignment (and they are not required to do so), then teacher doesn’t “have a substitute”. So Dr. Adam Clark’s phrasing really looks like an attempt to make teachers look bad to incite negative feelings from the public to not support them.
@Follow the Money
Explain that to HolySpiritActivate…he/she is the one that asked.
@Cyn
Hopefully that explained how the subbing thing works. Just because a teacher “doesn’t have a substitute” doesn’t mean the teacher didn’t arrange for a substitute. They may have arranged it all, but no substitute picked up the assignment.
But, your comment appears to claim that because Dr. Adam Clark said there were 59 teachers without substitutes it must mean that 59 teachers didn’t arrange for substitutes. That is not necessarily true. It could be that there were 59 teachers that properly arranged for substitutes but there weren’t enough substitutes to fill those assignments or they didn’t want to fill those particular assignments.
Dr. Adam Clark will have to provide some additional information to clarify what happened in those 59 cases he mentioned.
And how many times have we heard them declare; “Teaching is my PASSION!” (frequently while applying for an administrative job)…
There are 50 school campuses in Mt.Diable. 175 teachers were out. That’s an average of 3-4 teachers absent per school. This number seems way less of a big deal when you think about it. The way information is presented is trying to make you react. And if you test positive or are close exposure, you are required to follow the protocols, you can’t just choose to come to school if you are displaying symptoms. A lot of teachers see the whole school population. A lot of teachers are using their sick days to keep the students from being exposed. Regardless of teacher beliefs around a medical issue, they have been given procedures to follow. Their choices are to either show up with symptoms or with the possibility of passing them along or follow what they are told will keep everyone safe. Also, sick days and personal days are used at the teachers discretion. If you are jealous of that, please come sub or earn your credential and teach. We need more teachers and apparently it’s an easy babysitting job that’s overpaying so we shouldn’t be experiencing a shortage in people wanting to get into the profession.
..I’m willing to bet only about 20% of the call outs were legit – at most ….teachers taking advantage of the system 🙁
Discussions like this make the communist Chinese tickled pink. Don’t forget who the real enemy is.
Public schools and their employees are a middle class welfare system where mediocre everything is the norm. Dumbing down the students and teachers has been the primary purpose outside of providing reliable babysitting services for the saps at work financing the whole scheme. Yes, you have been duped and the end goal is a docile herd of future saps to continue greasing the wheels of unions, government parasites, and global corporations. Welcome to the new paradigm. Your vax card and tax number please. Next ….
My daughter goes to Northgate. She never was NOT sent home with a Covid test before break. Where are you getting this info?
@NG mom
We received multiple emails regarding this. You had to sign up through a link NG provided. My student picked it up in the office ( a label with his name was on the box).
@oh please
Where did I say my husband had pre existing conditions? Because he didn’t. I happen to agree with most everything you’ve stated but your assumptions are not true. Covid hit my entire family, and yes for me and my kids, it was fairly mild. It obviously affects everyone differently.
