Concord Resident Found Guilty Of Hate Crime – Ross Farca Scheduled To Be Sentenced Later This Month

A jury has found Concord resident Ross Farca guilty of four felony charges and a misdemeanor hate crime relating to Farca’s June 4, 2019 possession of an assault weapon recovered after Facra posted anti-Semitic mass murder threats on an online gaming platform, according to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.

Farca used his account with the screen name “Adolf Hitler” and a reference to the 6 million people killed during the Holocaust and boasted he intended to copy another synagogue shooter and then kill responding law enforcement.

During the search of Farca’s residence, Concord Police seized an assault rifle, along with 13 ammunition magazines, ammunition, camouflage fatigues, and Nazis paraphernalia.

In addition to the firearms and hate crime convictions, Farca was convicted of two counts of criminal threats made towards the lead investigating officer during the course of a follow up search of Farca’s residence on October 8, 2019.

“Mr. Farca is a serious danger to members of the Jewish faith,” said trial prosecutor Amber White. “I commend the quick investigative efforts of law enforcement to track the online activity back to Farca and thank the members of the jury for weighing the evidence and finding Mr. Farca responsible.”

Farca, at one time out on bail, was returned to custody where he remained for the duration of the case after the prosecution successfully argued Farca posed an ongoing threat to community safety.

Now convicted, Farca is scheduled to be sentenced on December 29, 2021.

Somebody paid attention and busted this nut BEFORE he managed to become a mass murderer?
Wow! I’m impressed.
Good job.

Antler December 1, 2021 - 9:40 PM - 9:40 PM

Agreed!

Sam December 1, 2021 - 5:21 PM - 5:21 PM

I’m not sure about this one. We’re now convicting people of crimes for words. There’s no such thing as an assault weapon. People playing games online say all type of stupid threatening things. This is just dumb, probably unconstitutional and will be overturned.

Larry December 1, 2021 - 5:52 PM - 5:52 PM

The Supreme Court does not agree with you.

They have ruled fighting words have no constitutional protection.

This guy is toast.

Mac December 1, 2021 - 5:57 PM - 5:57 PM

Found another one who should be investigated.

Cellophane December 1, 2021 - 6:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Threats are bad and directed at some people is a crime.

But from what I read here, what did he actually do?

He had a rifle with a lot of ammo.

I hope there’s a lot more to this.

I agree with Sam. He could sue CCC for million$$$ if his conviction is overturned.

Sam December 1, 2021 - 6:02 PM - 6:02 PM

I’ll remember this comment when the supreme court rules on Reee vs. Wade soon. As if the supreme court is infallible.

Sam December 1, 2021 - 6:17 PM - 6:17 PM

Yeah, the more I look at it, this is a conviction for a pre-crime. This guy definitely has a 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendment lawsuit and appeal all the way up.

Dr Jellyfinger December 2, 2021 - 7:44 AM - 7:44 AM

” Farca was convicted of two counts of criminal threats made towards the lead investigating officer during the course of a follow up search of Farca’s residence on October 8, 2019″

Face to face he threatened a Police officer.
Making threats of violence is against the law.
He has has severe autism and other cognitive disabilities… so how the hell did he get a firearm? Why?
I am all for liberty & 2A all the way, but first and always I am against utter stupidity.

Deb Shay December 2, 2021 - 10:03 AM - 10:03 AM

I’d agree with you if a search of his home didn’t find an arsenal of weapons. It really looks like he was going to act on his hateful speech. In this case I think a great tragedy has been averted.

Sam December 2, 2021 - 11:47 AM - 11:47 AM

Was his “arsenal” legally owned or not?

Dr Jellyfinger December 3, 2021 - 7:52 AM - 7:52 AM

” severe autism and other cognitive disabilities” disqualify him from owning firearms –

The law reads: “anyone who has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution”
is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Sam December 3, 2021 - 12:38 PM - 12:38 PM

It doesn’t mention that. Where is that information located?

Lol December 1, 2021 - 5:39 PM - 5:39 PM

The gangsters who frequent the monument corridor are just as dangerous as this man.

Original G December 1, 2021 - 6:11 PM - 6:11 PM

Agree, good catch and conviction will stand.
Will national media give as much coverage of conviction and sentence as they do after mass shooting incidents ? ?

Too often persons with with certain convictions and or having been determined to be a threat (fitting legal threshold) are not reported to FEDs, which would bar them legal purchase of firearms.
Wonder if he’s been added to that database yet ?

With far to much regularity after a mass shooting, media reports
firearms used were legally purchased. Shooter should have been in database but was never reported to FEDs.

Sam December 1, 2021 - 6:19 PM - 6:19 PM

You do realize he was talking crap in a video game right? 1st, 2nd, 4th amendment.

Schmee December 1, 2021 - 8:58 PM - 8:58 PM

You do realize you’re defending a horrible excuse for a human being right?

Googlar December 1, 2021 - 11:37 PM - 11:37 PM

Schmee do you know him? How do you know he’s terrible? If I had to guess: you’re jewish and want him to boil in excrement.

Sam December 2, 2021 - 3:51 AM - 3:51 AM

No, I’m not defending his words. I’m defending your rights.

Question: What was the crime committed?

If it was making threats in a video game, then this is uncharted territory and a swipe at all of our rights. It’s really not hard to understand.

I just listened to a black guy in a highly publicized tic toc chat beg for genocide of white people (killing all white people) . By this standard, they should be raiding his house any second.

Dr Jellyfinger December 1, 2021 - 6:35 PM - 6:35 PM

Well armed Nazi making death threats against Jews & Police….. are you guys sure you want to defend that? Not me!

Cellophane December 1, 2021 - 8:22 PM - 8:22 PM

Dr. Jellyfinger.

The guy? He’s a bad egg, that’s for sure.

All I know is what the story related.

I’m no lawyer, I just don’t see what he did to be charged like he was.

If he can be charged like he was for what the article said he did, then that, to me, is an infringement of rights.

If the DA can infringe on his rights then the DA can infringe on our rights.

I don’t want to see this nut walking around any more than anyone else.

Everyone is supposed to be equal under the law.

Of course, that certainly doesn’t hold true anymore.

Still, fighting for our rights is important.

yoyohop December 1, 2021 - 9:31 PM - 9:31 PM

Its not illegal to be a Nazi. It is not illegal to be armed.
Nor is it necessarily illegal to make threats.

There is a lot of context left out of the story that makes it hard to determine whether the threat was credible.

But anytime you can arrest a “nazi”…that’s a political win for the DA…great for optics. Nevermind that Farca isn’t even a German last name.

RDUB December 1, 2021 - 8:36 PM - 8:36 PM

The only good nazi is a dead one. Are people so quick to forget how many of our forefathers went to war against such scum? Nazis in all forms should be extinguished from the earth.

anon December 3, 2021 - 12:25 AM - 12:25 AM

The Nazis were terrible, but the Soviet Union killed a comparable amount of innocent people during the 1940’s, and greatly exceeded that amount by leaps and bounds by the 1960s. Communism has killed more than 100 million innocents.

Wladimir December 1, 2021 - 8:43 PM - 8:43 PM

Is good, yes, killer of 4 justice served? I very sensitive from Poland to such things. It why I come America.

PK December 1, 2021 - 8:56 PM - 8:56 PM

I knew Ross, he would come with his mother and sometimes grandmother to the local church on Tuesday night where they would feed people after they sat and listen to a word of God I would help out with the program voluntarily so many times I would talk with him as I did with many people that would come I even sat down and ate food together with him his mother was a believer in the gospel and what a nice lady she was but many times he would question or go against what was being spoken he was not convinced that God is real he wanted proof, I wanted to get to know him better and give him some guidance which I felt he needed I invited him to go hiking but he insisted that if we do go he would carry a 50 pound back pack I found it kind of odd lest to say we didn’t go hiking! But I did occasionally see him his mom was there every week and I would ask her how her son is doing and she would sway her head slowly right to left and say he’s OK she so much wanted him to be there and now look at the situation he’s is in I look back and…. think I could have did more to help him but you can only do so much, now I pray him and his mom

yoyohop December 1, 2021 - 9:45 PM - 9:45 PM

According to this article Farca is of Romanian ancestry and has severe autism and other cognitive disabilities.

Perhaps if the media could mention these facts it would dampen the fear mongering, allowing the young man to get a more equitable sentence/help he needs for a disability.

Anon December 2, 2021 - 7:32 AM - 7:32 AM

All makes sense now, usually it’s the FBI who likes to set up Austists (easy targets).
Austists do not pick up on social cues the way most people do. Also, they can be easily radicalized.

But it’s easy for most of you people to just label a partial mentally retarded person a “Hitler”…..while you ignore the criminals who are destroying your way of life.

Dr Jellyfinger December 2, 2021 - 7:34 AM - 7:34 AM

So put him in the Cuckoo’s Nest and leave him there where he can’t shoot up a Synagogue. Guy’s like this need to be incarcerated, no matter how they got that way.

Yoyohop December 2, 2021 - 11:07 AM - 11:07 AM

Seems like a very manipulative and one sided description of the events.

What business do the police have seizing camouflage pants? It’s neither uncommon nor illegal to own Army surplus clothing. But mentioning it in the article sure paints a picture of gun touting maniac. Likewise, it is not illegal to own WWII memorabilia.

Did his “threats” even extend to outside his little gaming community? What specifically were his threats?

Googlar December 1, 2021 - 11:43 PM - 11:43 PM

Talked crap in an online game roleplaying a character and saying things akin to that character and they raided his home and his life ruined.

“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize”

It really is incredible. The vaccine companies, the media conglomerates, our banks, our government at every level is entirely controlled by 2% of the population who refers to the remaining 98% as human cattle (goym).

Yertle the Turtle December 2, 2021 - 11:05 AM - 11:05 AM

If it takes one hour to bake a batch of cookies and Cookie Monster has 15 ovens working 24 hours a day every day for 5 years, would Cookie Monster be able to bake 6 million batches of cookies?

Kevin Kirkpatrick December 2, 2021 - 4:10 PM - 4:10 PM

Googlar and Yertle the Turtle absolutely get the entire farce and I commend them!!!! Well done!!!!

Officer Barbrady December 2, 2021 - 5:25 AM - 5:25 AM

I would refer some posters to 422 of the California Penal code. The section relates to threats. It’s been around and used for a long time. If this guy sues and collects , he will be the first.

Frustrated December 2, 2021 - 6:33 AM - 6:33 AM

After reading the 2nd and 3rd paragraph of article I’m not sure how someone could think this was not a credible threat.

Pete V. December 2, 2021 - 6:51 AM - 6:51 AM

What exactly is an “assault rifle”?

Dr Jellyfinger December 2, 2021 - 7:52 AM - 7:52 AM

Assault rifle is any semiautomatic firearm that looks scary to a Soccer Mom. It’s one of those non specific terms invented to cover all the bases….. like “climate change”

JRocks December 2, 2021 - 10:11 AM - 10:11 AM

Nazis, Marxists, Commies, Fascists and Socialists….. Oh My.

Though not illegal, one can argue that those failed ideologies pose a greater threat to the human race than any climate disaster or disease. What makes them so dangerous is their inevitable devolution into tyranny.

I do not support any hate crime or hate speech law. A crime is a crime. When you add the term ‘hate’ to a legal definition you make the law more subjective.

Elwood-“Illinois Nazis.”
Jake- “I hate Illinois Nazis.”

Jeff December 2, 2021 - 11:04 AM - 11:04 AM

I am intimately familiar with this case.

I was the Security Director at a Jewish institution here in CoCo.

I am former law enforcement.

I had lengthy conversations with the detectives and the ADA.

I own a semi-automatic rifle and believe they should be owned.

But, this individual has psychiatric issues, enjoyed watching a mass murder video and through Calif. law was found to be a danger. Not optimal, but the best that could be done.

Yoyohop December 2, 2021 - 1:12 PM - 1:12 PM

@Jeff, So given your intimate knowledge of the case why do you think the DA brought hate crime charges, instead of trying to pursue a route that would get him psychological help?

Severe mentally illness seems mutually exclusive with a logical but hate driven agenda.

Should the mentally ill be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law when their delusions take on a politically unpopular manifestation?

Bingo December 6, 2021 - 9:02 AM - 9:02 AM

When you call EVERYONE a Nazi, NO ONE is a Nazi.

This guy was an actual Nazi but notice how people are skeptical? That’s what happens when you overuse the word.
