The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff’s collected a total of 513 pounds of dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs during their annual National Prescription Drug Takeback Day last Saturday.
Many hospitals, pharmacies, and law enforcement agencies offer drop off locations year-round, so if you still have some that you want to get rid of, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Xavier Becerra has suddenly discovered that drug related deaths have increased (He has a keen grasp of the obvious).
His answer is NOT to decrease illegal drug distribution, and NOT to decrease prescription drug abuse. After all, that would force him to acknowledge the Biden border drug import stimulus plan.
No, Xavier wants to “keep drug addicts alive” by providing safe drug use sites. No mention of treatment or rehab, just a nice place to do illegal drugs when the need arises. If he truly had any interest in keeping drug abusers alive he would go after Fentanyl!
I have sympathy for people addicted to anything. However keeping them alive doesn’t address their problem it simply provides custodial services. And in some cases it may simply prolong their agony.
I don’t mind my tax dollars going toward help however I prefer not to finance enabling programs.

….don’t forget about the people who are in constant pain due to Nerve Damage, Bad Back Surgeries, etc. etc., who can NO LONGER get 𝘈𝘕𝘠 pain relief just so we can keep the street buying drug addict safe from overdosing.
NOTHING was done for people like me who’s had 5 back surgeries from a hit and run rollover car accident, who can NO longer work due to the everyday crippling pain.
For those of us, who NEVER overdosed, abused or sold our prescriptions, who were functioning in society, who’ve had our lives destroyed due to the Government worrying so f’ing much about these drug addicts overdosing with pain medication so they’ve ignored us and have taken them away.
God forbid an addict dies from abusive behavior and treat the responsible people like criminals.
