Officers were on scene this morning in Pleasant Hill investigating a burglary that occurred at about 5 a.m. at the Stop and Save, 607 Gregory Lane, according to police.
The suspects stole an ATM after causing major damage to the front of the business, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pleasant Hill PD at 925-288-4600.

These guys are getting increasingly active. A couple of weeks ago, someone smashed and cleaned out a drive-through Chase Bank ATM in Martinez. Success breeds more criminality. At least they were probably wearing masks.
Catch them red handed and take them directly to the train station….

It is not difficult at all to get an ATM machine open, the hardest part of course is stealing the thing in the first place.
Is there a tracking device and alarm on atm machines?
Probably not, but there should be! They should start adding those to every ATM.
We have gotten to the point where ATM machines need tracking devices. Wonderful.

That is really terrible, that’s a family owned business and they are very nice (have been there occasionally). Hope the evil-doers are caught.
ATM means Automated Teller Machine, so why do so many people consistently say ATM machine?
It’s the same with the VIN on a vehicle, it means vehicle identification number, and people are always saying VIN number.

Spoke with the owner (great guy) a little while ago. It was a bit coin ATM, “installed” 2 months ago and has been used just twice, had zero cash inside. Can’t make that stuff up!
Just doing their part to spread the wealth. Banks represent the rich and wealth.
They do need tracking devices on atm machines. Wonder why they didn’t think about that before.

This is total crap that criminals get away with. Time to fill up the prison system but the powers that be won’t do that because there isn’t enough prisons to hold the criminals.
