The “Water Cooler Chat” is a feature on where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you will talk about it.

The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.

Today’s question:

What’s the worst commercial you’ve recently seen? Why is it so bad?

Talk about it….

Biden’s campaign commercials… he’s a Muppet of the DNC… an empty suit.
He needs a cognitive test.

Martinezmike June 25, 2021 at 1:28 PM

Not to worry. Biden said he had a cognitive test, and it was negative.

Simonpure June 25, 2021 at 12:17 PM

Legal Help Center…they have a whole bunch of people in the background answering phones like a telethon. Hi folks were back. Then bird lips spokesperson Rob says the same thing she did. So why is he even there?

Car Shield…you sit through the commercial only to read the fine print at the end which states “Not available in California” Then why air it in California?

Both are annoying at best.

Lynne Ellis June 26, 2021 at 2:50 PM

I agree the worst

whome June 27, 2021 at 7:57 AM

Most of the TV I watch is the MoterTrend channel – those commercials run all day!

I can’t watch any live show, I have to be able to skip commercials, so I only watch recorded TV, LOL

Dawg June 25, 2021 at 12:19 PM

I don’t watch commercials, I instantly hit the mute button and turn my attention to something else, or change the channel. I have caught a glimpse of a commercial before I have the chance to take my eyes off the TV, and from what I’ve seen, most of them seem to have some sort of political message, which I think is a big mistake. Corporations should not mix business with politics, it will alienate lot of people who would otherwise buy their product.

reekorizzo June 26, 2021 at 1:10 AM

Alright Dawg, here’s our chance to get rich……I hit the mute button as well when commercials come on……we gotta develop a remote control or something that automatically mutes commercials when they come on………SILICON VALLEY HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!

Randy June 25, 2021 at 12:26 PM

… the motorcycle insurance ads where there is a hybrid person / motorcycle…. that to me is just freaky disgusting …I think its Progressive Ins.

Cowellian June 25, 2021 at 12:49 PM

I hate them all. I fired Hulu because they kept forcing ads into their premium “Ad-Free” service. Netflix and Amazon don’t have ads, and we watch broadcast shows on DVR and fast forward through the ads.

RANDOM TASK June 25, 2021 at 1:24 PM

the pro vaccine testing on children commercial

thanks mom for keeping me safe from the fauci virus by forcing me to volunteer for trials even as kids are experiencing heart problems from it

your the best

but wait the government said children are low risk for any symptoms or transference ….and yet closed the schools or rather the unions did
and the newscum had to bite the union seal and tell us the state is following the science

only to tell us
after the corrupt cdc
said ok all clear the science is good

that we the people even though we paid taxes for schools that were not open that we now had to pay 8 billion dollars to open schools partially for 8 weeks

we never were told where all that money went accept that the teachers were all paid for doing nothing while hard working people were shut out of their jobs and given nothing

the newscum never investigated the unions or state
of where the money for school janitors
<>and maintenance and pge and water <<not needed yet we paid and unions got bonuses

so yeah any commerical with a dem on it saying follow the science

Mika June 25, 2021 at 1:30 PM

So many! The lady shaving her pubic area. All the ads for IBS. That gecko—any ad with him. Joe Namath, Tom Selleck advertisements for medicare or reverse mortgages.

The Wizard June 25, 2021 at 4:29 PM

I could not believe that women weed waking her bush was on TV.

Bob June 25, 2021 at 1:33 PM

The diabetes medication ad featuring the obese actor doing half-ass exercises in the park, then ordering two iced lattes.

Seriously, who signs off on this stuff?

Gittyup June 25, 2021 at 1:41 PM

Wells Fargo used to have the most beautifully romantic commercials with a stagecoach galloping over the ridge and into the sunset, accompanied by a sublime, orchestral arrangement. They were selling a centuries old brand and the commercials were pleasant to watch. Some of the online banks these days have the dumbest, most unimaginative commercials, all with people banking on their phones. It’s hard to tell one bank from the other, or even remember their names because the commercials are so cookie cutter. I certainly don’t look forward to any of the commercial breaks these days the way I looked forward to those Wells Fargo commercials..

Old Timer June 25, 2021 at 1:50 PM

Governor Newsom roaring back. How much good he is doing for California.I have to turn the channel when that bull___t comes on.

BWIZZLE June 25, 2021 at 7:17 PM

It says he’s just getting started!
This commercial makes me laugh and cry at the same time.
Im sick of it too!

Mtx Guy June 25, 2021 at 7:27 PM

Amen Old Timer.
Such a waste of our tax dollars.
Not only his salary but the advertising!

Randy June 26, 2021 at 7:18 AM

SF oh June 26, 2021 at 8:16 AM

Yep – agreed. That Newsom commercial is so annoying. Instead of the narrator they’ve got, they should get one of those guys that sells drinks at baseball games, But instead of yelling, “cold beer, here”, the line would be, “ Free stuff here! Step right up and get your free stuff! Free child care, here. Free government giveaways, here. Come on down and vote for Newsom to keep those freebies coming!” As another poster said, it makes me laugh and cry at the same time. Disgusting.

Old-school guy June 28, 2021 at 1:43 PM

Higher taxes is what’s in it for me.

Roz June 25, 2021 at 2:10 PM

The PC Matic Commercial.
The girl says PC Matic like10 times?
I could ring her neck after saying it 3 times.

Badge1104 June 25, 2021 at 2:27 PM

Frankly I’m a little tired of the AAA commercials because there’s so many of them. Maybe they could lower our insurance rates if they stopped blowing millions on ads.

But the commercial that is really rubbing me wrong is Liberty mutual insurance. They have all different forms of commercials: the guy with the emu (or what ever), then the ads on the deck in front of the Statue of Liberty featuring kids, teenagers, et al or a teddy bear vendor. I definitely would never call them for insurance coverage.

Ricardoh June 25, 2021 at 2:36 PM

I never watch anything that isn’t recorded so I can fast forward commercials. I never have purchased anything that I have seen on a commercial. Although I fast forward I have seen a few and the ones that get me are like a commercial for a cold medicine and at the end they tell all of the possible fatal side effects very swiftly.

S. Martin June 25, 2021 at 2:57 PM

Kars for Kids has got to be the most obnoxious thing ever produced for TV and radio. I nearly barf when I hear it.

The Wizard June 25, 2021 at 4:22 PM

I agree… Their phony playing of the instruments and and their off pitch singing, triggers me.

The Big Cheese June 25, 2021 at 4:51 PM

Agreed, and don’t get that jingle stuck in your head… destroys your memory banks….

Roz June 25, 2021 at 6:39 PM

Ditto on that one.

Lamont June 25, 2021 at 6:49 PM

The new group is even more obnoxious than the first one.

ClayDen June 25, 2021 at 9:44 PM

The worst commercial EVER. If they were the only charity in existence, I wouldn’t donate to them.

Just The Facts June 25, 2021 at 11:40 PM

Kars for Kids is deceptive about where the money is going. I would much rather donate to St. Jude than oorah

Bdpirate June 25, 2021 at 3:00 PM

I shot my TV years ago…best thing I ever did cause there ain’t nothing on but crap..

nytemuvr June 25, 2021 at 6:41 PM

bdml June 25, 2021 at 3:02 PM

They are all terrible and push an idiotic agenda

Sancho Panza June 25, 2021 at 3:32 PM

I don’t particularly enjoy the Descovy for PrEP commercial…”Step-up, prep-up”…not been studied on people assigned female at birth…for your one and only love, or many loves…for kings and queens and royals in between…

…don’t want to explain this medication to a child…

Jeff (the other one) June 25, 2021 at 7:45 PM

Definitely agree with you, first one that I thought of, however, I was unable to articulate it as well as you, as what I thought is no longer allowed in this (once free) land of ours. Especially that, well, never mind….

The Wizard June 25, 2021 at 4:26 PM

I like the new Flex Seal one. Its the one he saves all the disasters that are unfolding.

Well Folks June 25, 2021 at 4:43 PM

Any and all Progressive Insurance Commercials.

Fred June 25, 2021 at 6:15 PM

Newscum having California “roaring back.”

Bulk$hit – trying to stave his recall.

Tim June 25, 2021 at 5:11 PM

Karsforkids. Turn the radio off or change the channel. Check their charity rating on Google.

Pony June 25, 2021 at 5:40 PM

Any insurance commercial but especilly Liberty Mutual of late. The Emu and Doug are bad enough but the kids skipping rope and the guy selling Wet Teddys are really obnoxious. Its like Progressive, Geico, and Liberty are in a competition to see who can make the worst commercial. They haven’t hit that bottom yet LOL

CoCoOld June 26, 2021 at 10:24 AM

I really want to see an ad where the LiMu emu eats the Geico gecko.

Dee June 25, 2021 at 6:32 PM

The two Kraft mac and cheese ads with the two little girls The one that irritates me the most is the one where they are siting at the dinner table and she is refusing to eat what is in front of her. Mom says something about sitting there for a while and the little girl pops off and says ‘Well guess I’ll just sleep here then” Then the Mom makes her the mac and cheese. .Oh really?? Not in my house would that ever happen and my kids all knew they better not even talk to me that way. To me Kraft has no problem with the way kids talk back and sass their parents and all wonder what is up the youth of today??
The other one that really grates on my nerves the Haribro candy one with a bunch of adults sitting around a table in a board room talking like a bunch of 5 year olds

JAFO June 25, 2021 at 7:20 PM

A few general, comments, if I might. First, would anyone seriously consider taking a medication after hearing the list of possible side effects? I think I’d rather suffer the ill effects of nearly any disease rather than face the side effects caused by the medications intended to treat them, “Including death.” Yikes! Second, has anyone else noticed the increasing number of casual references to “down-there care?” I predict it won’t be long before we start hearing references to “around-there care, “in-there care,” and “up-there care.”

SueZQueue June 25, 2021 at 7:46 PM

The paper towel commercial where a tabletop wet spill disaster is about to hit your expensive electronic device and you throw up your hands and shout in slow motion Nooo! or Ohhh! yet grab the paper towel just in time when you should have just lifted your device up off the table to avoid getting wet. The version where the pot sticker falls off the table is cute when the dog catches it though, yet sometimes they air the short version omiting the dog which was the best part. Please just use cloths to wipe spills to save our trees, anyway.

Jeff (the other one) June 25, 2021 at 7:56 PM

Easier to state the ones I like, but that is not the topic. Most all those mentioned above could qualify, except some of the Progressive bits (I like the aunt, Ratt, and pipe problems). The latest worst one…hard to choose between the noid (was awful when it first aired in the 80’s), Jake and the 70s-teen-boy looking girl with the pizza stuff for State Farm, or that creepy sounding guy talking about balance with his Hanes…

Ilovepopcorn June 25, 2021 at 8:52 PM

I really dislike the pharmaceutical ads! All those silly names for their expensive designer drugs! Then the ads on the radio for men that have wilted 🥀 male part problems. They crack me up. Never boring anyway.

PO'd June 25, 2021 at 10:08 PM

Any and all the Liberty Mutual ads, especially when taken with the Statue of Liberty in the background. The worst. And ubiquitous.

jose June 26, 2021 at 5:44 AM

Our Governor hocking everything in California
except used cars. That may come next with him.
Then the ambulance chaser insurance companies that seen to pop up like weeds every week.
We just fast forward the commercials or mute them.
Or any commercials that are bent towards a particular political party.

Savagette June 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM

Every single vaccine commercial. They really believe throwing out a whole bunch of commercials with celebrities touting the vaccine and kids saying “thanks mom” is really going to appeal to vaccine hesitant? If anything it makes me more suspicious of the vaccine!

Ilovepopcorn June 26, 2021 at 3:18 PM

The vaccine commercials, in my opinion are very useful and important.

Bob Kazamakis June 26, 2021 at 10:31 AM

I use an ad blocker, which saves me from ads on YouTube (uBlock Origin) and pirate most anything else I watch. I’ve forgotten how terrible commercials were.

Gremlin June 26, 2021 at 10:48 AM

The latest Oscar Meyer hot dog commercial is down right creepy. Looks like a preview for a new Exorcist movie. Also, the Allstate commercial with the singing hood ornament. Oh, and the Terminix ad with the man flexing while standing on his bench because of a mouse. That man should be embarrassed!

Tim June 26, 2021 at 4:57 PM

Karsforkids. Change the channel of turn the radio off. Check their ratings a charities.

The Wizzard June 26, 2021 at 7:16 PM

That damn wet teddy bears one.

Steve June 27, 2021 at 5:08 PM

99% of commercials on TV and radio are insults to intelligence and play to emotions, flashy and/or speedy objects, and catchwords. Alas, my greatest TV friend is the mute button on my remote. It’s the way our visual/audio system works: crap (commercials) first, dig for facts second from the pretty faces we see.

Old-school guy June 29, 2021 at 7:41 AM

The commercial using the motivational speaker who prevents you from becoming your parents. How degrading.
