And this is house members of Congress buy elections.

Where does all this free money and stuff come from? It’s been nonstop since Covid started.

The funds are coming out of our pockets—-our children’s and grandchildren’s…

Give aways with the Government Printing money and bringing on inflation is suicidal, DeSaulnier doen’t care, I can’t wait for his Town Hall when he explains why inflation is driving poverty in his district, blaming others will be his mantra, you vote for what you get

Debt debt and more debt. Taxes can’t be raised enough to cover these expenditures. We’re already seeing inflation. Anybody else think we won’t be seeing more inflation? Does DeSaulnier care? Do Biden and Harris care?

On March 1, the gross federal debt of the United States surpassed $28,000,000,000,000 that is 28 trillion dollars or $2.8 × 10 to the 13th power or 28 X 1000 billion dollars or 28 million million dollars. – Rounded down. The actual debt is $28,165,00,00,000 and it grows at a rate of 45.486 dollar per second, or $2,750.75 per minute, or $165,046.60 per hour!

That’s $85,286 for every single person in the U.S. $219,342 for every household in the U.S. 7.7 times annual federal revenues. 134% of annual U.S. economic output. 69% more than the combined consumer debt of every household in the U.S.

The United States spends $800 million per day on interest payments on the nation debt.

It would take the United States 713,470 years to pay down the national debt if we paid $1 per second of the year.

We have mortgaged our great great great grandchildren’s futures.

It’s been non-stop since the Johnson administration, it has just grown logarithmically since Bush’s TARP and Obama’s AARA (4 months apart form each other). Biden, with a narrow majority in both Houses, does not have a braking system to stop treating taxpayer money as monopoly money. Congress has been irresponsible to the extreme for the past 2+ decades; now, they are just absurd. What is worse, they really do not care. They do not give one iota of thought of how this spending will impact the future. I wish all their riches were confiscated first, to cover this, that may make them think twice about such reckless spending. never happen though, they will even be protected at the next crash.

DOJ has enough extra time to sit in on a DeSaulnier workshop / circlejerk about grants? Grants?

I got questions for the DOJ, but it sure isn’t about grants.

More so, why they have focused so much energy rounding up all the Jan. 6th capital storming grandmas, most of whom were participating in constitutionally protected activity, instead of prioritizing the violent leftists who burned and rioted in every blue city for months on end?

Politicians are going to spend our money the way it benefits them and their party the most . Ask yourself a question , Have they ever solved homelessness, poverty, poor education ,crime ,poor race relations or any problems that face our society ? No . They maintain these problems or make them worse.. So keep voting them back in office and keep giving them your hard earned dollars.

When I moved to Contra Costa County in 1978, I had no idea we would be so fortunate to be represented by first George Miller, then Mark DeSaulnier. I worked for a corporation with 100K employees when I interacted with Congressman Miller as a grassroots activator. He didn’t always agree with me, but he outlined why not when that happened and I respected him. Congressman DeSaulnier and his staff are incredibly invested in our global and specific community. I am grateful for all of their efforts

It’s funny, when so much just absolutely bats*** crazy stuff happens in CA, people always ask “just WHO are the idiots who keep electing these clowns?”
Question answered.

@ Pete V.
Funny and so true.

King George and Marky Mark never saw a government teet they didn’t want to suck. Its hard to admire those two partisan hacks.

Mark is busy doing to other businesses what he did to his own…bankrupt them.

If there is enough extra money for these programs then the higher priority is funding for veterans who’ve lost limbs, sight, are in wheelchairs etc, so we wouldn’t need organizations asking for funding from the public on tv commercials. Rather my money go to those vets than politicians to gain popularity by handling out our tax dollars.

Ricardoh May 5, 2021 - 2:08 PM - 2:08 PM

Got an idea for solar energy here is your chance to cash in. Got an idea on critical race theory don’t hesitate the cash is waiting. Write a book on how to get more votes by mail? This is made for you.

ConcordRes2 May 6, 2021 - 5:55 AM - 5:55 AM

I know people who apply for these grants full time and make a great living off our tax dollars. If you can write great reports with colorful graphs you can make a killing.
