The CDC has updated their recommendations for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The following is from the CDC:

Fully vaccinated people can:

  • Visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing
  • Visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing
  • Refrain from quarantine and testing following a known exposure if asymptomatic

For now, fully vaccinated people should continue to:

  • Take precautions in public like wearing a well-fitted mask and physical distancing
  • Wear masks, practice physical distancing, and adhere to other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people who are at increased risk for severe COVID-19 or who have an unvaccinated household member who is at increased risk for severe COVID-19
  • Wear masks, maintain physical distance, and practice other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households
  • Avoid medium- and large-sized in-person gatherings
  • Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
  • Follow guidance issued by individual employers
  • Follow CDC and health department travel requirements and recommendations

So that means schools. As I’ve stated, as soon as the teachers, students, and admin are ALL vaccinated, we can get back to traditional learning. Don’t rush it.

Puffandstuff March 8, 2021 - 2:17 PM - 2:17 PM

Yeah bc otherwise only 99.9 percent of us will survive and that would be scary

Vaccinate the students? Sorry but You’re wrong

hmm.. March 8, 2021 - 2:44 PM - 2:44 PM

Wondering if you have kids in public schools? Kids need do go back. Period.. This is not working for the overwhelming majority of kids.. mentally, academically, and physically! .. It’s been a full year. Other states are in school without issues.. Private schools (most likely in your own town) are in school without issues.. It’s unfair to the public school families to be held to a lesser standard….The public school community can’t afford a private education so our children are suffering.. If you have a child in K-12 you can’t truly feel that we “shouldn’t rush this”.. Opening school should be the priority.. but yet we have indoor bars opening in SF, amusement parks, theaters, every grocery store..
What wrong with this picture??? Our children deserve better than this!

parent March 8, 2021 - 2:48 PM - 2:48 PM

Evidence from throughout the United States shows that we can open schools TODAY without vaccinating the terrorists (teachers and union) and the victims (children). Schools are open across our states without negative results. If you do not want your children, or yourself in the classroom, STAY HOME.

ZZ March 8, 2021 - 3:06 PM - 3:06 PM

Can’t force people to vaccinate.

Sancho Panza March 8, 2021 - 3:16 PM - 3:16 PM

@Jazzman~That’s a blanket statement about ALL vaccinated…schools have already been given the green light to open…1 year of substandard education is enough, already!

Mmaze March 8, 2021 - 3:46 PM - 3:46 PM

99.9 %. That is not reflective of the infection or death rate in the United States.

Rollo Tomasi March 8, 2021 - 5:07 PM - 5:07 PM

@Mmaze:
“99.9 %. That is not reflective of the infection or death rate in the United States”

You’re right, not only because Puffandstuff made no reference to the infection rate but rather the survivability rate, but also because the survivability rate for people 0-17 years is higher than that.

Same March 8, 2021 - 2:29 PM - 2:29 PM

The vaccinated are supposed to wear a mask around unvaccinated people. Hah. So they don’t get brow-beaten by Karen?

SmileWC March 8, 2021 - 2:31 PM - 2:31 PM

Wow. Physical distancing has almost become natural – it will be hard to re-adapt.

Bob March 8, 2021 - 3:25 PM - 3:25 PM

That’s right CDC, you scrape up that credibility….

Badge1104 March 8, 2021 - 3:33 PM - 3:33 PM

I think I’ll still wait a bit even though I am fully vaccinated now. I do not trust the CDC scientists 100%. Remember they and Fauci in the beginning said that masks were not needed. Then they said being out at the ocean was dangerous. (Which I knew was wrong because the saltine air and bright Sun at the ocean kills airborne virus) (in German scientists said different). so I’m going to be a little more cautious for a while still.

Anon March 8, 2021 - 4:03 PM - 4:03 PM

You don’t trust CDC scientists….but do trust the “experimental” vaccine (which is really not even a vaccine).

PH_Dad March 8, 2021 - 4:40 PM - 4:40 PM

Fauci lied, people died. Asia was masked up before he even started telling people that “masks aren’t needed”.

The public from all around the world have been under the rule of government. It did the public to comply to rules and regulations. This is the beginning of something way bigger than the public knows. I can’t deny the fact that we have done what science has directed us to do. Science and government will be what the public needs to respond to. In a division around the world, it’s definitely directing us, like herds of cattle. Just a thought for both sides.

cheeseburguesa March 8, 2021 - 3:55 PM - 3:55 PM

It’s like a sale at old navy with all these flip flops. Can they at least stop with the fear monger pandering ads on the radio and TV now?

Clayton Black Glove March 8, 2021 - 4:06 PM - 4:06 PM

Fear is the point.

Bob March 8, 2021 - 4:17 PM - 4:17 PM

Fear = control

Rollo Tomasi March 8, 2021 - 5:09 PM - 5:09 PM

A frightened populace is an easily controlled populace.

Cellophane March 8, 2021 - 4:20 PM - 4:20 PM

How much longer are people going to keep believing this incredible hoax?

Sure the China Virus is a bad bug and precautions need to be taken.

Many people have given up all of their freedoms simply to comply with the people they elected to represent them, not lead them.

Should I say some people are fools? I don’t believe so.

Should I say some people are gullible? No.

Should I say that some people greatly mistaken?

Yes.

And mistakes can be fixed.

remember March 8, 2021 - 5:05 PM - 5:05 PM

are people really that dumb that they have to be told this? isn’t that the point of being vaccinated? goodness gracious

Chessy March 8, 2021 - 5:48 PM - 5:48 PM

So how do we know who has been vaccinated? We can be around other people that have been vaccinated unmasked but we still need to wear a mask when around unvaccinated people. Okay … so we go to a party at a friend’s house … do we need to wear signs that say Vaccinated or Not Vaccinated? Need to know which friend group is safe … This is still pretty insane!

Sam March 8, 2021 - 7:49 PM - 7:49 PM

That’s easy. Have the not vaccinated friends wear a yellow star patch on their shirts and make sure they wear their masks. Then you can keep those sub humans far away from you.

I can’t believe this is where we are in 2021. Where’s all the cool tech I was promised? No flying cars, no robot maids. Now all we got is total government control, barking orders like we are dogs. I want my original timeline back.

Anon March 8, 2021 - 8:04 PM - 8:04 PM

I identify as a non-binary covid cure, my verb is vaccinated. So I’m good.

cheeseburguesa March 8, 2021 - 8:19 PM - 8:19 PM

check their social media. The “I got my Covid 19 vaccine!” sticker is the new “I voted!” sticker.

Ilovepopcorn March 8, 2021 - 9:18 PM - 9:18 PM

Funny you brought that up. I just received my grey cotton long sleeved T shirt! It reads: I got both vaccines. COVID-19 Go Away.

Former Californian March 9, 2021 - 9:32 AM - 9:32 AM

Probably a serial number tattooed on your wrist that you have taken the vaccine (maybe with the lot number and type just to prove it). I have seen in this thread that maybe also a star on your clothing would help identify you (but of course those can be faked so the necessity of the tattoo is paramount).

Schulz March 8, 2021 - 8:45 PM - 8:45 PM

Show me your papers!

Ilovepopcorn March 8, 2021 - 9:13 PM - 9:13 PM

Yes it will put an end to the virus eventually if enough folks get vaccinated. Not getting a vaccine is risky. You could end up very sick with lingering serious lung disorders and heart disease. I just received my second Pfizer today. The only symptom of it is a slightly sore place where the injection was. Believe me I feel very relieved. Both brothers and their families refuse to get the vaccines. I will have to remain masked up and social distance around them. So dumb. Some say they may get vaccinated later to see how it all works out.

“badges, we don’t need no stinking badges!”

RIP Blazing Saddles (humor)

You are always on the mountain looking down on the masses as if you are any better. It you didn’t virtue signal you would be doing nothing with your life how sad and pathetic.

Clayton Black Glove March 9, 2021 - 6:59 AM - 6:59 AM

Wait until all those that are coming from Venezuela. More fear, possible links to terrorist, those that have dealings with Iran. The fear has just begun

Simonpure March 9, 2021 - 7:47 AM - 7:47 AM

Guess I wont be gathering anytime soon. The photo itself grosses me out.

LL Cool J March 9, 2021 - 12:06 PM - 12:06 PM

Even though the vaccine doesn’t actually protect from Covid. And it’s 99% not likely to kill you. COVID was brought in to get people to the vaccine. The vaccine was not brought it for covid. It is about control. Wake up!

LL Cool J March 9, 2021 - 1:15 PM - 1:15 PM

Hilarious double speak. Hey vaccinated people: you are protected but NOT protected. Kind of like that time (actually many times) when Bill Gates said that if we do a good enough job with vaccines we can save lives and reduce the population (all in the same sentence). Yes, he really says that.

Again. Wake. Up.

Greenjrl March 9, 2021 - 5:09 PM - 5:09 PM

Some states consider clergy essential (for getting vaccinated). I cannot find this directly addressed in CA. Anyone know? We have a young pastor whose congregation is majority over 65. Seems to be in best interest to all that he be vaccinated. Thoughts?

Plinko March 9, 2021 - 9:34 PM - 9:34 PM

I just cannot envision the look on a liberal’s face while watching blazing saddles. Damn that was a wild movie.
