Of course, right after January 20th Biden’s administration takes credit of Trumps work the last year getting these vaccines made and produced. Now sports can all come back thanks to Newsome and Biden right? Give me a break…

JazzMan February 21, 2021 - 3:23 PM - 3:23 PM

If we give Trump credit for anything, it’s making the COVID situation last a year longer than it needed.

Ilovepopcorn February 21, 2021 - 11:06 PM - 11:06 PM

You forgot Tweetalini dismantled the entire pandemic department early on. He did nothing to prevent this virus from spreading by ignoring it. It was looking bad for Trump so he kept it quiet which caused many people to die. Give me a break!

Rollo Tomasi February 22, 2021 - 1:07 PM - 1:07 PM

Popcorn, that is a lie. Do your research. Most of the pandemic response team was reassigned to another, streamlined department and retained the same responsibilities.

Cyn February 22, 2021 - 1:47 PM - 1:47 PM

@Concord Guy
You really should stop parroting CNN…..it makes you out to be quite the liar when you’re probably not.

The Fat Cat February 23, 2021 - 11:04 AM - 11:04 AM

@Cyn

Parroting CNN?

He is merely summarizing Trump’s own words and actions at rallies and press conferences.

Debate the work behind the scenes or the vaccine development effort all you want, but Trump’s favorite tool (the bully pulpit) was used to downplay and distract rather than to protect public health. And I don’t need CNN to tell me that; I watched those briefings and I heard his rally speeches.

Inb4 “tRuMp nEvEr sAiD iT waS A HoAx”

Sure, he did not literally say, “The COVID-19 pandemic is not real and there is no real virus” but misinformation is intrinsically non-literal. He used “hoax” as a way of associating his political opponents’ past criticisms of him with their criticisms over his handling of the virus, while simultaneously making statements such as:

“within a couple days is going to be down close to zero” Feb 2020

“it’s going to disappear. One day it’s like a miracle, it will disappear” Feb 2020

The pandemic is “fading away. It’s going to fade away.” June 2020

“I happen to be a believer in hydroxy. I used it. I had no problem. I happen to be a believer”

“So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way.”

“And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful.”

The combination of these statements (ramblings, musings, wild assertions) is very clearly not of someone that was organizing an honest and coherent effort to combat the pandemic based on the information that was available. I don’t need CNN to show me how terrible Trump’s messaging was because you can just read the words that he said himself.

Anon February 21, 2021 - 1:14 PM - 1:14 PM

LOL, because it was all fraud and exaggeration.
The only reason they are changing their tune is because they realize that people have had enough and are IGNORING the garbage “mandates”.

That’s right, there’s not enough police or karen’s in the World to Stop the Majority.
See the video entitled ‘The Tiny Dot’ by Larken Rose. Explains it all perfectly.

Kirkwood February 21, 2021 - 2:31 PM - 2:31 PM

Anon –
Are you saying that if everybody had ignored S.I.P, masks, eating in restaurants going to parties, etc, nobody would have gotten sick or died?

Most of the problems with COVIS were in low income, crowded conditions and were invisible to the upper classes but were still there.

Sam February 21, 2021 - 9:32 PM - 9:32 PM

That conflicts with my reports from the hoods in east Oakland, Richmond and west Pittsburg, but ok.

Kauai Mike February 21, 2021 - 1:27 PM - 1:27 PM

Despite skepticism that an overnight ‘Biden recovery’ is proof we were played all along, I do hope imminent herd immunity is true!

Concord Guy February 22, 2021 - 10:37 AM - 10:37 AM

I hope its true as well. Following the science, it would only be attainable with a sizeable portion of the population being vaccinated. My guess is that we can only be in this position in Q4 2021 at the earliest.

Gebertx February 21, 2021 - 1:50 PM - 1:50 PM

A Biden miracle or more like phony reporting to get Trump out, I know alot of people, I only know of 1 who caught CoVid, and why are the Flu deaths non-existent ? I’m in FL, lower numbers plus no draconian edicits from State Government, and we’re not in economic hell, and ask me how I really feel, the unmentionables is the State really doesn’t care about small business, their position , someone will take their Place

Jazz February 22, 2021 - 12:54 PM - 12:54 PM

I agree about the incidents of cold and flu cases – however a friend in the medical field has told me it is due to mask wearing and social distancing – COVID is much more contagious than both.

Also, I personally know 40+ people who have had COVID – and myself have had it. You cannot mistake it for a normal cold. So it is very much real.

Original G February 21, 2021 - 2:04 PM - 2:04 PM

Question, … was there a change in virus detection level or cycle threshold (Ct) for test results ? ? There was controversy back in September regarding test sensitivity and false positives.

Chuckie’s Wife February 22, 2021 - 10:51 AM - 10:51 AM

I read somewhere that the CDC recommended lowering the cycles to 20. That was right around the time Biden was sworn in. I don’t know if that recommendation was accepted, but it sure would explain the rapid drop in cases.

Captain Bebops February 21, 2021 - 2:24 PM - 2:24 PM

We probably reached “herd immunity” last May. That’s when they moved the goal posts. A leading professor of epidemiology even said we would be out of the crisis by June of last year. Of course she was defamed by the tyrannists.

This was not about solving a pandemic but changing the global economic system. The “pandemic” was just a tool to achieve that.

Gary Benton February 22, 2021 - 3:06 PM - 3:06 PM

Captain Bebops: “We probably reached “herd immunity” last May” I don’t think the loved ones of the 200,000 people that have died from Coronavirus since May would agree with that.

PESFG February 21, 2021 - 2:47 PM - 2:47 PM

Praised be Joe Biden who walked on water with Obama! Hallelujah! Now let’s send the information to Lord Newscum to fully open up the state before there’s still a long list of businesses that are closed or not open 100%.
Glad to know things are looking up so we can welcome all the illegals Biden is allowing through, pretty sure none of them could possibly be sick or can become sick with Covid.

remember February 21, 2021 - 2:49 PM - 2:49 PM

what a crock! it couldn’t just be that clod and flu season are over. science, my behind!

Bob February 21, 2021 - 2:55 PM - 2:55 PM

Almost as if……

cheeseburguesa February 21, 2021 - 3:09 PM - 3:09 PM

So Biden can say that black and brown people especially in the urban areas don’t know how to get on the internet to sign up for the vaccine list, but the numbers are still going down? Neat.

https://thesource.com/2021/02/17/watch-president-biden-suggests-blacks-hispanics-cant-get-covid-vaccine-because-they-dont-know-how-to-get-online/

Kirkwood February 21, 2021 - 3:59 PM - 3:59 PM

There’s an attitude/mindset difference between the blacks seen by upper and middle class whites and the ones who mostly live the “hood” culture. We have all witnessed it.

Natalie February 21, 2021 - 4:15 PM - 4:15 PM

He didn’t make a generalization about all or most people in Black and Hispanic communities. He said not everyone in those communities. He also didn’t only mention urban areas, he mentioned rural areas.

Here’s a quote from a news article: “Most of those patients don’t have easy access to the internet or need technical assistance.”
The news article is titled: Black Americans Are Getting Vaccinated at Lower Rates Than White Americans

Source: https://khn.org/news/article/black-americans-are-getting-vaccinated-at-lower-rates-than-white-americans/

There is a digital divide in this country. Not everyone has access to internet, or has “internet literacy” skills. It’s a problem. Inner city areas, and rural areas have the largest gaps in internet access, often due to personal financial reasons.

Original G February 21, 2021 - 4:55 PM - 4:55 PM
Rollo Tomasi February 21, 2021 - 10:32 PM - 10:32 PM

Natalie, were you hoping nobody would read the article you posted? You cherry picked one quote regarding internet issues from an article that by and large concluded that low vaccination rates among black Americans is rooted in mistrust of government and the often used but rarely defined “systemic racism”. Why did put you fail to mention the the part about the Nation of Islam recommending the vaccine be avoided via messaging on their website? Seems Louis Farrakhan believes people of color can manage to access the internet.

Joe Biden repeatedly makes racially ignorant statements that would get anyone except a Democrat cancelled. But the complicit media will run cover for him the rest of his life.

Natalie February 22, 2021 - 12:40 PM - 12:40 PM

@Rollo: Beyond Mistrust: The Digital Divide Is Preventing Older Black People From Getting Vaccinated, Too: https://tinyurl.com/1p4wq21c

It’s not at all racist to point out there is a digital divide in this country, and that the disparity in internet access is making it difficult for some seniors in some communities to sign up for vaccines.

The Fearless Spectator February 22, 2021 - 10:34 PM - 10:34 PM

Grandpa Joe was buddies with Robert Byrd. Fact checkers say Byrd gave up his KKK membership so he’s a good woke guy now, although deceased. Rules for thee and not for me, yet again………

Natalie February 21, 2021 - 4:20 PM - 4:20 PM

This news video had nothing to do with Biden, and yet nearly every comment posted here has something to do with Biden. When Trump was in office, Conservatives used to say that obsession with attacking the President was a “derangement syndrome”.

Chicken Little February 21, 2021 - 5:08 PM - 5:08 PM

Now it’s just called payback.

BORbeliever February 21, 2021 - 5:24 PM - 5:24 PM

I never had “derangement syndrome” about any president, even if I didn’t vote for them or like them. I didn’t vote for Obama, but I respected that he was the President of the United States. However, after four years of watching the unhinged left rant and rave about every single thing Trump did, never recognizing that ONE single thing he did was good (including Operation Warp Speed which resulted in the creation of multiple Covid vaccines) I will NEVER respect a Dem president again. I have succumbed to “Biden derangement syndrome” and am fully on board with the “not my president” crowd.

Original G February 21, 2021 - 6:14 PM - 6:14 PM

“derangement syndrome”, . . . well they were liberals and as we’ve just observed they’re, easily triggered.

These four years will be entertaining. When biden’s cognitive decline becomes embarrassing apparent and he resigns then it’ll be, the giggles show.

Dr. Jellyfinger February 21, 2021 - 9:11 PM - 9:11 PM

That claim “The Big Guy” made that “There was no vaccine when I took office” was pretty embarrassing…. especially since there’s video of Biden getting his vaccine shot in December.
Anybody wanna tell me I’m wrong? Claim it never happened?

Rollo Tomasi February 21, 2021 - 10:34 PM - 10:34 PM

Natalie, leftists like you set the standard. Now you can live by it.

Janus February 22, 2021 - 8:43 AM - 8:43 AM

So it was perfectly fine when you were doing it but suddenly now everyone should take the high road?

When the Republicans take control of the House, you can expect as sure as God made little green apples, that Harris will be impeached for bailing out rioters and putting them back on the street to loot and burn more buildings.

You set the rules, now live with them.

Fred February 22, 2021 - 9:20 AM - 9:20 AM

natalie, you’re just another tool of the left. Quit pretending to be an expert on everything/anything.

After all of the insults and violence by the left, YOU are now calling for unity.

Hah – payback is hell….and karma is a b****

Jazz February 22, 2021 - 1:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Disclaimer: I identify as independent but CANNOT stand the hypocrisy of some clearly right-wingers.

So, you all openly ADMIT to antagonizing and condemning the left “just because” some democrats have done it this previous term?

So what I’m hearing is neither side will take the high road. You guys are all determined to hating, condemning, and ridiculing the other side. Then you wonder why our country is in shambles.

Humility is sorely lacking. But this is what happens when you try to take Jesus and biblical values out of everything.

Rollo Tomasi February 22, 2021 - 1:56 PM - 1:56 PM

Disclaimer: I identify as independent but CANNOT stand the hypocrisy of some clearly left-wingers.

JRocks February 22, 2021 - 2:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Actually Jazz Man this is what happens when you steal an election. Biden and Harris have zero credibility.

Dr. Jellyfinger February 22, 2021 - 3:41 PM - 3:41 PM

@ Fred ~ Where the hell did you get Karma? It is spelled “Kamala”.

Tired February 21, 2021 - 5:23 PM - 5:23 PM

All hail Biden. May we bask in his gloriousness and magniminity

America February 21, 2021 - 8:47 PM - 8:47 PM

Now that Ma and Pa Kettle are in the Whitehouse, covid will disappear! Pa Kettle will beat it up behind the barn.

just me February 22, 2021 - 12:18 AM - 12:18 AM

ROFLMAO!!!!! And punch it in the face!

BORbeliever February 22, 2021 - 9:09 AM - 9:09 AM

Perfect! Biden will be “Pa Kettle” to me from now on!

Chris February 21, 2021 - 10:22 PM - 10:22 PM

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m getting tired of calling the coroner’s office every morning to have them come out to our street to pick up all those bodies from the pandemic.

Deb Shay February 24, 2021 - 8:20 AM - 8:20 AM

Hahaha good one!!!

WC Resident February 21, 2021 - 10:27 PM - 10:27 PM

Trump says “It’s going to disappear. One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.” Instead of disappearing, the virus kills 500,000 Americans.

Biden gets elected and the virus is disappearing — it’s like a miracle.

Doh February 22, 2021 - 6:57 AM - 6:57 AM

Trump said, “If we get 100,000 or 200,000 people who died we will have done a good job.”

Trump knew last January this virus was deadly but he chose to play it down and not wear a mask so “the people would not panic.”

500,000 dead in America.

Justifiable languor February 22, 2021 - 9:44 AM - 9:44 AM

Duh…and yet, Nancy Pelosi was mocking Trumps concern by giggling in the streets in front of China Town restaurants encouraging the population to do the same. In fact, she swung both left and right opposing our President at every angle. She kicked the proverbial hornets nest at every opportunity.

Rollo Tomasi February 21, 2021 - 10:38 PM - 10:38 PM

One would hope that the thousands of people who are newly unemployed thanks to Biden’s extreme left agenda can afford internet access to get their magic elixir.

Doh February 22, 2021 - 6:59 AM - 6:59 AM

Until we get 70%-80% vaccinated I would not talk about Herd Immunity. Let’s see what the infection rate are then.

Charlie February 22, 2021 - 11:27 AM - 11:27 AM

@Doh

It is highly unlikely that 70-80% want to get this vaccine.

Rollo Tomasi February 22, 2021 - 1:44 PM - 1:44 PM

I doubt we’ll get even close to 70% 80%, especially if Biden and the “experts” claim that masking and social distancing will still be required.

Kauai Mike February 22, 2021 - 7:04 AM - 7:04 AM

Understanding herd immunity:

https://n.pr/37z15s3

Gary Benton February 22, 2021 - 3:16 PM - 3:16 PM

The Wall Street Journal is doing a disservice to the people to listen to what it says in saying we may have “herd Immunity” by April. Most people under 65 will not even be able to get the vaccine by April. None of my children or grandchildren have been able to receive a vaccine shot yesterday. So don’t talk to me about “herd immunity”. That talk will cause more people to let down their guard and there will be an unnecessary surge in infections and death.

The Fearless Spectator February 23, 2021 - 8:56 AM - 8:56 AM

Yes they are, and saying things like that true are not, moves markets.

Fauci is all over the place, Newsom is all over the place, and Grandpa Joe thinks we may be a year out. And now they are trying to smear DeSantis for having good Covid statistics in Florida, how dare he make other states look bad!
These are all good reasons to stop paying attention to the news.

annoyed February 24, 2021 - 1:13 PM - 1:13 PM

Well Gary, you are already wrong, at least In Contra Costa Coutny. Most people over 65 have already gotten at least their first shot. 54% of aged 65-74 and 81% of aged 75+
