A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck Contra Costa County on Thursday.

The earthquake was centered in Concord, according to the USGS.

Did you feel it?

Jenn January 21, 2021 at 4:55 PM

Yes I felt it

City girl January 21, 2021 at 4:57 PM

Nope, but I think my ex-husband must have! He texted me from San Diego within one minute of the earthquake to ask if I felt it. I live in Concord off of Bailey Road.

Oh, yeah.

Jess January 21, 2021 at 5:01 PM

Yes, small rumble, then a bigger shake. But pretty minor overall.

KC January 21, 2021 at 5:01 PM

I told my husband there was an earthquake and it made the couch shake. He was walking in the same room and didn’t feel it.

Gmap January 21, 2021 at 5:05 PM

Yes a bump. Near Concord High

KJNofConcord January 21, 2021 at 5:08 PM

Sure did…Solid hit but minor in intensity…

Debbie January 21, 2021 at 5:09 PM

Yes not to big but felt it all the same!

Dr. Jellyfinger January 21, 2021 at 5:11 PM

Not sure I felt it……I was doing laundry and had a load of wash going off balance on the spin cycle…. so ….. no, at least I don’t think so… maybe?

Simonpure January 22, 2021 at 6:52 AM

I knew it wasn’t a earthquake jelly

ClayDen January 21, 2021 at 5:12 PM

We felt it in Clayton.

Miket January 21, 2021 at 5:13 PM

Yep! One jolt them done, here on Chestnut Ave

Cellophane January 21, 2021 at 5:19 PM

One or two more, now three.

Concordite January 21, 2021 at 5:19 PM

Oh, yes, I felt our house shake! That’s the second one in a week!

Cellophane January 21, 2021 at 5:22 PM

The first quake was centered at the end of San Carlos Dr and Wildwood Drive.

I felt it, and love the Nancy Bennett I’m seeing right now with the shaking chandelier. . Awesome. LOL

Sancho Panza January 21, 2021 at 5:31 PM

I heard it coming with rumbling noise then a jolt that shook the wine glasses…needless to say, I was summoned to pour a glass of wine for myself!

Ricardoh January 21, 2021 at 5:31 PM

I heard the room creak and thought my wife was sneaking up behind me.

Chuckie’s Wife January 21, 2021 at 5:39 PM

Yes, I did feel it. A little shaker. Let’s hope it stays that way

DJ January 21, 2021 at 5:39 PM

Felt it. and loving the Nancy Bennett swinging chandalier banner I’m see n the page right now. Awesome.

J January 21, 2021 at 8:09 PM

I heard it more than felt it. I thought it was a squirrel jumping on the roof. I live pretty close to the epicenter.

Superstitious Aloysius January 21, 2021 at 5:41 PM

Yes, but not as strong as last week’s quake.

KAD January 21, 2021 at 5:49 PM

No, near Bailey.

Ancient Mariner January 21, 2021 at 6:02 PM

I was on a Zoom meeting and someone said there was an earthquake and I felt it just after he said it, so it hit his house (to the NE) before it hit our office in WC.
Plus it was a short, sharp jolt (so: local) and that means it was small, nearby and roughly northeast of downtown WC.

Mary Fouts January 21, 2021 at 6:14 PM

Not an inkling of any earthquake for Jim and I in south PH. Nothing from dogs Sid and Lexi, either

qwerty January 21, 2021 at 6:27 PM

Felt and heard a short, negligible rumble out here by the Pavillion. Wouldn’t even call it an appetizer, more like a waft of the restaurant’s kitchen as I walked by.

Dorothy January 21, 2021 at 6:45 PM

Missed it again.

Rae Dio January 21, 2021 at 6:46 PM

In the Silverwood area and did not feel it.

3.1……. meh.

Silva January 21, 2021 at 7:18 PM

Not @ Silverwood, as usual.

Singledout January 21, 2021 at 8:00 PM

Earthquakes are not on my care about them list.
Yes so we had a earthquake big friggin deal..

Dr. Jellyfinger January 21, 2021 at 8:28 PM

and yet you still posted a comment……..

Tom Henneberry January 21, 2021 at 8:31 PM

I was in the exact same place as the last one, and it felt almost identical but with slightly less intensity. No shaking – just a jarring boom

Lari January 21, 2021 at 9:27 PM

Yes, and so did my cats. Freaks them out.

Wait a minute January 21, 2021 at 10:01 PM

What time was this? I had a funny feeling at some point, but can’t remember the time anyway, so wouldn’t be able to verify if that’s what I felt. Still curious… I wonder if these small ones are an omen of something major happening soon.

Antler January 21, 2021 at 11:34 PM

No, but I was in the car a lot (driving in the area between Concord Blvd/Bailey, Clayton Station and Bel Air Shopping Center….. also Safeway).

Roz January 22, 2021 at 7:15 AM

Yes, sitting on the sofa and it was one very little jolt. The cat looked at me like what did you do, and I told her it wasn’t me.

Jeff January 22, 2021 at 7:58 AM

If you live in California, we should not even discuss quakes less than 4.5.
