Deputy Health Officer Thomas Warne, along with Contra Costa Supervisors Karen Mitchoff and Candace Andersen will give an update on the COVID-19 situation in the county during an online meeting today at 1:30 p.m.
They will discuss the current COVID-19 status, the quarantine order, vaccination plan and school re-openings.
The public will have a chance to comment.

Now that the coup has been completed for Joe Biden.
The World Health Organization has now released guidance to laboratories around the world to reduce the cycle count in PCR tests to get a more accurate representation of COVID cases.
The current cycle was much too high and resulting in any particle being declared a positive case.

If you are 77, you are up. If you are Kaiser don’t wait around for them, they have no clue and I think are giving the vaccine to their employee’s that work from home (not Dr. and Nurses). Call Contra Costa County Health Department 1-833-829-2626 and press number 4. You may be on hold for one hour but just let the music play and do something else while you are on hold. They will schedule you for an appointment and bill your insurance. Not cost to you. Get on that phone and you should have an appointment scheduled about 2 weeks out.

My mother’s entire family, all nine of them, came down with the Spanish Flu in 1919 during the pandemic. They lived in a rural area and a doctor was not nearby. One of the younger children recovered first and cared for the others. They all survived. One aunt told me she was weak and ill long after everyone else in the family had recovered and was taken to the doctor who put her on iron tablets until she gained her strength back.
Limeridgelarry. If you think prioritizing teachers is going to get kids back this year you are wrong. With Union negotiations and other support staff that are not teachers that would need to negotiate, its just a pipe dream. The sooner you realize this the better off you will be.

I’d like to know how many of you have lived through a pandemic? Obviously this is not something we could just google protocols and safety measures for it. For those who think they could have done a better job at coordinating testing, and vaccine rollouts, you’re obviously more superior than anyone else in the world. In case you were wondering we have some of the most intelligent people in the world working on different solutions with many moving parts. I realize the system is not perfect, but neither are you.

California is in “45th place” in the country for vaccine distribution per capita. Even ABC news reported on this. So while California is sure to receive a participation trophy, you have to hope that other countries don’t look to California as any sort of example.
