You’re going to need to vaccinate teachers’ families as well, otherwise they will be at risk as you can transmit the virus after being vaccinated.

And their dogs and cats too.

Just watch…..teachers won’t return until all kids are vaccinated. We are probably looking at 2024 or 2025 here folks.

There is no need to vaccinate dogs and cats, they aren’t amble to transmit COVID as far as I am aware. The teachers can though.

Not if Brian Lawrence has anything to say about it.

Isn’t little Brian gone now … Cause you are correct, if he had a say, it would be NEVER.

To be honest, not sure if Adam Clark is any better right now ..

Let’s see … other districts around us are open with hybrid learning.
In our district, private schools are open with hybrid (at a minimum) learning.
Child Care programs are running FULL TIME …

But our our MDUSD is so special … we cannot open until our ‘beloved’ teachers are vaccinated. I personally have lost all respect for Brian and Adam, and am starting to lose it for the teachers.

@parent. My wife teaches, and my son has immuno issues. I will NOT let them be exposed, even after vaccination, until the students are also vaccinated just because you want your kids back in school. They don’t like it any more than you do. It’s a matter of safety for all. Has nothing to w District politics.

Jazzman
You are making a choice for you and your family. Let me make one for mine. That is all we are asking.

However, couple of questions …
1. What vaccine is approved for kids? none …. so it is a long wait for you. Are you willing to teach your kids from home for the next several years?
2. If your wife was in Solano county (Vallejo), she would have been given a choice “teach or resign” as a a friend of mine was. She resigned. Are you willing to accept that?

As for you saying that it is not district policies … well then how come other districts have opened for in person classes already and ours has not??

Rollo Tomasi January 20, 2021 - 3:10 PM - 3:10 PM

Maybe your wife should learn to code.

Rollo Tomasi January 20, 2021 - 3:12 PM - 3:12 PM

It just occurred to me. YOU will not LET them be exposed? Sounds like a strong, independent woman you’re married to.

@parent

Couldn’t agree more! I don’t understand why JazzMan thinks all schools should be closed just because of his son! Learning from home may be a good choice for some students but it’s not for ALL students.

What districts around us are open for hybrid?

Randy January 20, 2021 - 4:32 PM - 4:32 PM

… after the teachers get vaccinated the teachers & their union will think of some other “reason”

The Professor January 20, 2021 - 4:34 PM - 4:34 PM

Vaccines are not the issue. Covid will no longer be an issue as soon as a new contract is signed.

ZZ January 20, 2021 - 6:41 PM - 6:41 PM

Hmmmmm heard MDUSD is allowing the PSATs to take place next month at CPHS. Whatzzzzup with that?

Itsme January 20, 2021 - 11:35 PM - 11:35 PM

Students will be the last to get vaccinations. If the social media at my university is an indication, students don’t want to return to campus until they get a shot. That will be the hold up..

Today’s reality is that my health care provider is still slowly working through 75+ year olds. Vaccinations for tier 1b is still a ways off.
