Jim and I got our Christmas presents earlier this year from the City of PH: Our 2021 business license renewals. We each maintain a home office and associated business license, no employees. For a 1 professional office, our fee each is $453, for a total of $906 we get to hand over to the City of PH. For which we get nothing in return.

I’m waiting for the next money grab from our local governments when they start enacting home office business licenses for the many workers working remotely. In these trying times, sad it remains much about the $$ grabbing for our local governments and related entities.

Humorous aside – the City of PH’s technology is so outdated, our renewal forms are still printed pm a form from dot matrix printer. The printing and the form don’t even line up. You’d think with the outrageous PH Business License fees, the City could afford to update its 1970s technology.
