JazzMan October 29, 2020 - 12:05 PM - 12:05 PM

George Carlin

Barge October 29, 2020 - 12:12 PM - 12:12 PM

Johnny Carson. Day in and day out the best ever.

Hanne Jeppesen October 29, 2020 - 1:02 PM - 1:02 PM

I agree, he was not a late night talk show host, more than a comedian, however, he was hilarious, especially some of his segments with animals, and his thanksgiving skit with Doc Severinsen, who also was very funny. Available on UTube
Loved John Cleese in Fawlty Towers, The Germans and the guest that died, others.
Also love Dana Carvey when he does George W. H. Bush, and Bush 41 invited him to the White House Christmas party and laughed along with everyone else when Carvey imporsonated him. Class act President.
Many SNL characters Tina Fey, McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy as Spicer, too many to mention. Of the older ones Jonathan Winters (in it’s A Mad, Mad, Mad World”. Don Rickles and Rich Little.

Dorothy October 29, 2020 - 12:18 PM - 12:18 PM

Red Skeleton by far. George Burns and Gracie Allen a very close 2nd. Actually, all the really good ones are gone.

Dawg October 29, 2020 - 12:22 PM - 12:22 PM

My number one pick is Rodney Dangerfield, he was just downright funny without even trying, just looking at him made me laugh.
Next on the list is Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, Rich Little, and Redd Foxx.
My favorite TV characters that made me laugh was Barney Fife, and Lucy Ricardo.
Favorite cartoon character is Wile E. Coyote.

StewB October 29, 2020 - 12:43 PM - 12:43 PM

All time: George Carlin
Tv: Dick Van Dyke
Current:Brian Regan

4 corners October 29, 2020 - 12:32 PM - 12:32 PM

I enjoyed Bill Burr’s SNL. So he’s at the top for me right now.

Rolaids October 30, 2020 - 8:47 AM - 8:47 AM

I’m a huge Bill Burr fan, but sadly I think his SNL show was his weakest performance. He had to pull his punches, and his solo stand up genius was not on display when he had to collaborate with sketch comedy actors. It’s a different skill set.

George Carlin, Louis C.K., and Bill Burr have excellent material and their delivery is top notch. I think Dave Chappelle is a different kind of genius. His writing is not as dense as those three, but his ability to connect with the audience and bring them along unparalleled.

Pony October 29, 2020 - 12:41 PM - 12:41 PM

So many: top three Lenny Bruce, Jonathan Winters, George Carlin

Gititogether October 29, 2020 - 8:48 PM - 8:48 PM

Hmmm, that’s a good one. The funniest folk make me laugh just anticipating their comeback…Don Rickles, Curly Howard, Don Knotts, Lou Costello, Oliver Hardy. For me the best was Jack Benny.

Martinezmike October 29, 2020 - 12:52 PM - 12:52 PM

Jonathan Winters. If i had to pick one.

Sancho Panza October 29, 2020 - 1:02 PM - 1:02 PM

I enjoyed watching Lucille Ball… and Robin Williams!

Ricardoh October 29, 2020 - 1:07 PM - 1:07 PM

Don Rickles Jonathan Winters George Carlin Johnny Carson. Bob Hope
None of today’s comedians are worth anything. They are all outspoken democrats and not funny. Sort of sad for younger people.

ALF October 29, 2020 - 1:32 PM - 1:32 PM

Daniel Tosh and Kevin Skinner

Barbosa October 29, 2020 - 1:32 PM - 1:32 PM

Not even a question on this…Don Rickles

Dawg October 29, 2020 - 4:43 PM - 4:43 PM

I saw Don Rickles in Vegas once, and he picked on some poor guy that was sitting the closest to him. When the show was over, he bought the guy and his party a couple of bottles of Dom Perignon for being such a good sport. Rickles was a classy guy.

S October 29, 2020 - 4:56 PM - 4:56 PM

You wanted to sit in front, so you could be picked on….

Was his Shtick….

Sarah Cooper and SBC for *cringe*

Hanne Jeppesen October 29, 2020 - 4:21 PM - 4:21 PM

How could I forget my fellow Dane Victor Borge (his real name Boerge Rosenbaum). My mother didn’t think he was that funny, and she was always annoyed that he took so long to play the piano. After I had been the in US for almost 2 years I went back to Denmark for a few month, and Victor Borge was performing on Danish TV, and I realized when you understood both Danish and English he was even more funny, the way he intertwined both languages into his jokes was just hilarious.

an iota of maturity October 29, 2020 - 5:02 PM - 5:02 PM
