Contra Costa County has updated their health order for the “general public.”

The updated order now allows social gatherings of up to 25 people from three households, as long as they follow certain guidelines:

  • Gatherings must take place outdoors and should be 2 hours or less
  • Gatherings that include more than three households are prohibited
  • People from different households must keep at least six feet of social distance from each other
  • Face coverings must be worn except when eating or drinking

Thank you for your opinion, I will take it under advisement.

I took it under advisement and have decided to ignore your suggestions.

Thanks!

Contra costa county can go pound sand 🙂

Following orders is not an excuse to violate rights. The reckoning is coming for all of you.

Casari October 29, 2020 - 7:43 PM - 7:43 PM

And we all have a right to be protected from those who unknowingly can pass it on. That’s the reason for masks. I protect you; you protect me. Kinda like the golden rule 😊

LL Cool J October 30, 2020 - 9:14 AM - 9:14 AM

@Casari. I implore you to read the label on masks. They do not protect against viruses. This is not about protecting people against a virus that has 99+% survival rate. This is about surrendering your freedoms. Please, we need everyone to wake up.

There’s just no way to make sure this all goes as dictated. Someone at these “gatherings” will have to be appointed Gathering Monitor.

Sounds like a repeat from what the state published October 9 and reposted here a couple days ago.

Since I’ve only come across one person who doesn’t think Newsom is a doofus (two if you count Camala Harris) I can’t believe we don’t have 2M signatures by now. Somehow not enough people are finding out about this opportunity to improve California.

Chuckie’s Wife October 29, 2020 - 9:04 PM - 9:04 PM

@Fearless – there is no media coverage, no donors and Covid is seriously impacting signature collection. The organizers will try to get an extension, but I doubt the courts will grant that, even though they’ve granted extensions for other groups trying to get stuff on an upcoming ballot.

Sam October 30, 2020 - 3:18 PM - 3:18 PM

No mike. Perhaps you have a crush on him and are a submissive jellyfish. There is plenty of support but simply recalling him would allow him to just walk away. Suing him, which is happening is much better as he can be held personally liable and face prison time if criminal charges are appropriate. Don’t you worry your submissive little brain, you will find another boot to lick.

Outdoors. Do the people coming up with “mandatory” rules understand that we’re getting into late fall soon, and the rainy season? Thanksgiving is late November. It’s pretty chilly, and might be raining and windy on Thanksgiving Day. So no, we’re not going to be gathering and eating outdoors. We’ll indoors, in comfortable chairs near the wood stove, and eating at the dining room table like normal people. And then there’s Christmas. It’s even colder then. That’s just nuts. Sorry. Not going to do it.

Nah, I’m sticking around. I consider it my civic duty to point out the hypocrisy and ineptitude of California politicians and the stupidity of those who blindly follow them. Why leave it to future generations that are being constantly indoctrinated by public schools and social media?

Sam October 29, 2020 - 6:41 PM - 6:41 PM

Lol jokes on you.. every millennial I know is voting for Trump, refuses masks, and laughs at old boomer democrats freaking out and ruining normal life. Not many people are actually leaving. Most decided to stay and fight. I have 10 votes for Trump straight red tickets in my family alone to cancel out your vote and I know several families just like mine. Lil Wayne, 50cent, Ice Cube, the conservative nature of Mexicans..The only new neighbors you’ll be getting will come with a big Trump flag.

Delusional = Thinking it wouldn’t take a very small percentage of black and latino inner city voters to flip the state for Trump.

Mr. D I’m happy to help you out. The mind will desperately search for anything to make it feel better. Denying the reality of my post will carry you through Tuesday, until the need for rubber boots, floaties, and kleenex sets in. We will measure the tears by the foot. Question: my team is likely to win out Turkey Bowl. I assume by precedent set, our celebration is completely warranted without any masks.

Follow up Question: my family plans to protest the oppression of native Americans by white settlers by eating traditional Native American foods. Can I assume that it is okay for my family to not wear masks for the duration of our protest?

“i didn’t wear a mask at Christmas and all I gave was Covid”

That’s worse than deciding to give everyone cats for Christmas.

Bob Wiley October 29, 2020 - 9:20 PM - 9:20 PM

Next time please think twice before you post such an insensitive comment. Cats have killed, and will continue to kill much more people than COVID ever has or will. I do believe in freedom of speech. Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion, but your comment really hit home for me.

Amateur Teacher October 30, 2020 - 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM

Mr. Wiley,

I represent that American Association for Tennis Racquet and Violin String Equity. Our organization has devoted countless hours for decades to attempt to stamp out hate speech against cats. We here at AATRVSE feel that cats are so integral to our society that they must be properly venerated by all members of our community. This is why we are so devoted to allowing their memory to live on by hitting a ball against remnants of their entrails or sliding a bow across the sinew of their memory. Please consider how your comments affect others next time.

Many loud anti-maskers have in fact changed their minds about masks and how dangerous it is to ignore the pandemic. Usually after they get sick or people they personally care about gets sick (or dies, or suffers lifelong health problems).

I wear a mask to protect to protect you. You should wear a mask to protect others.

Sam October 30, 2020 - 11:56 AM - 11:56 AM

Masked slaves is what you are. You have no voice as a slave. You have no identity as a slave. You are not a person anymore. Subhuman slaves. So we are totally clear, I don’t owe you anything. Stay away from me with your mask on you don’t deserve to be in my presence

How are they going to enforce the 3 households thing? We had a family gathering at someone’s house to say goodbye to a relative dying of cancer and we had 5 households present. We did wear masks, though, as he’d just come out of the hospital. I’m deeply grateful we had the gathering. Nobody got COVID and the relative passed away a month later.

I am convinced that masks are the key to reducing the spread, rather than trying to lock things down.
