Sounds about right. Trump voters are voting in person so it’s definitely gonna be a tight race here in California. We may actually save face and go red.

mtzman October 29, 2020 - 12:12 AM - 12:12 AM

Excellent strategy there, big guy, especially when you couple it with Trump’s demand that the winner be declared on election night. Those that voted early by mail will have their ballots teed up and ready to be counted right away. For those that vote in person, the polls close at 8 pm. Having run or supervised many polling places over the years, I know that it will be 9:30 or 10 pm at the earliest before the ballots reach the county registrar. That will give the state at most 2.5 hours to declare winner, meaning a whole lot of November 3 ballots won’t be able to be counted in time for that declaration. Bottom line is, you’re going to lose regardless.

Ash October 29, 2020 - 3:09 AM - 3:09 AM

if joe and heels up harris win we all lose

bdml October 29, 2020 - 4:42 AM - 4:42 AM

The same rhetoric from 2016 all over again…keep counting your chickens before the eggs hatch that’s a great strategy big guy…

Sam October 29, 2020 - 5:39 AM - 5:39 AM

Woah salty…Joe Biden is the “Big Guy” in the Hunter/ China emails. Are you just triggered or is this your desperate attempt at suppressing R voters? Votes are scanned into a machine right away when you vote in person. I’m not going to lose because I’m not running for anything. But I will be here with my measuring tape and floaties selling kleenex to the blue wave of tears. I do know that those who voted by mail early pre debate and before the Joe/China/Hunter/Bobulinski/laptop are changing their votes to Trump as Joe is a threat to national security. But don’t worry we’re just making our country and state great again, again. Nothing to fear but media itself oh and the coronavirus…it’s real, for real real..be afraid

Pyrrhus October 29, 2020 - 9:02 AM - 9:02 AM

You’re kidding right? Tight race in California for President? Please tell me where you are even getting that idea? Californians aren’t that dumb to make it a tight race. This is going to be a landslide for Biden, the polls could be off by 25 points and Biden would still win by 9 points. Anyone that thinks California could go red is delusional and is a perfect example of why the rest of us see these die hard Trump supporters as cultists.

Gruesome Newsom October 29, 2020 - 9:13 AM - 9:13 AM

@mtzman

If you ran polling place then you would know that if you’re in line at closing time you must be allowed to vote even after closing.

PEOPLE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR POLLING PLACE IF YOU’RE IN LINE AT CLOSING TIME.

CA LAW:

Poll workers must be trained about the right of voters to cast a ballot if they are in line at the polling place when the polls close at 8:00 p.m. Voters who are in line at the polling place at the time polls close are entitled to vote and must be allowed to exercise that right. (§§ 2300(a)(3), 14212, 14401, 14402)

mtzman October 29, 2020 - 9:14 AM - 9:14 AM

Uh, Sam, the number of ballots are counted when they are scanned into the machine at the polling place. That is done to match up the number of ballots cast with the number of ballots issued at the precinct. The actual votes on the ballots are not counted until they get to the registrar’s office.

mtzman October 29, 2020 - 11:39 AM - 11:39 AM

@Grusome, you are, of course, correct, but that only further illustrates my point, for delays in closing the polling places would decrease the available time to count the votes IF one were to adopt the argument that the results need to be announced on November 3. Fortunately, your governor (and state legislature) isn’t stupid enough to buy into that kind of nonsense but apparently some states and some of the conservative SCOTUS justices are.

Sam October 29, 2020 - 11:43 AM - 11:43 AM

@Pyrrhus
It’s actually delusional to think California can’t go red. If even a small percentage of the inner city votes for Trump it’s over. I know you know that. 90% of the state is rural conservative. San Francisco and LA will only get you so far. Cult is a fun word tho.

chuckie the troll October 28, 2020 - 10:01 PM - 10:01 PM

How many of those votes were from people who are alive and legally entitled to vote?

Plinko October 28, 2020 - 10:07 PM - 10:07 PM

Hopefully, no one voted for willie brown’s mistress….if you did….shame on you. You deserve everything coming your way.

Hanne Jeppesen October 29, 2020 - 11:08 AM - 11:08 AM

So Kamala Harris when she was single had an affair some umpteen years ago, and you wish ill on those who vote for her and Biden.
I shudder to think what you wish on Trump voters then, since he has cheated on ALL his wives, even with a hooker. Or is it ok because he is a man, or because he is Trump? Curious minds like to know.

S October 29, 2020 - 11:36 AM - 11:36 AM

Hanne,

Kammy laid down with a “Married” Man. Does not matter that Da’Mayor was separated… He was still married. Shame on them both….

But, I guess in these common times such things are ok… Just ask Bill !

bdml October 29, 2020 - 4:39 AM - 4:39 AM

Good then the lines might be shorter on voting day.

Kauai Mike October 29, 2020 - 7:21 AM - 7:21 AM

Wife (Linnie Poo) and I voted early – mailed & certified – TRUMP 2020!

Roz October 29, 2020 - 7:29 AM - 7:29 AM

I was watching the News on a earlier day this week, and Joe Biden on one of his outings mentioned he would be bring the ‘Crew'(?) of 9 with him?

Well, sounds like a vote for Biden will really be a vote for Harris, AOC and the Squad, Bernie and some others. Joe is the “Front Man”, but thinking he won’t be holding that spot long.

Yes, green new deal, free medical & schooling for all, and who knows what else, which is why a lot of people with be paying higher taxes. I don’t really care about the Hunter thing, because that’s Joe Biden’s issue, not mine.

My Issue is, paying for others with our tax money, while working our butts off for what we have and want to keep,…Did not vote Blue.
Thank You Very Much.

Pyrrhus October 29, 2020 - 9:11 AM - 9:11 AM

I’d gladly pay higher taxes to give universal health care to everyone like the rest of the 1st world countries do. We pay the most in healthcare and we have nothing to show for it except tons of medical debt and people still dying. How about we hold our military accountable for their spending? Nearly half a billion dollars can’t be accounted for in their spending. Instead of forcing the military to build tanks they don’t even want, how about giving that money to the soldiers? Or giving them better equipment? There is so much waste in the military that doesn’t even make them more effective.

TTD October 29, 2020 - 9:18 AM - 9:18 AM

@Roz, I agree! I am tired of working hard only to have our taxes (income/sales/dmv/gas/property taxes/CA’s mental health tax, etc) go to the “general fund”, pensions, etc. and not towards the stated target. We live well below our means so that we are not a burden on society or our kids. Why should the taxpayer be penalized for saving money (tax on interest/dividend/capital gains/CA’s mental health tax), earning a nice living (increase in medicare taxes, etc), owning our home for years (potential increase in basis when the kids inherit the home), etc.

Roz October 29, 2020 - 1:28 PM - 1:28 PM

@ Pyrrhus~
Fine,…just make out “Checks” to the Feds/State for what ever amount you are willing to give for causes you want, and that goes for anyone else who has disposable income.

@TTD~ Yep – Yep !

Chuq October 29, 2020 - 2:56 PM - 2:56 PM

I’ll take Biden’s crew over Moscow Mitch, corrupt Ivanka and inept Jared. Not to mention the ever expanding list of Trump appointees and advisors who have been fired or are in jail since 2017.

Cellophane October 29, 2020 - 7:45 AM - 7:45 AM

That’s really great news.

I am happy to see so many people voting.

With half the registered voters already having voted, I guess it’s time for all of the living voters to vote now.

LOL

I’m out of town so I mailed my ballot some time ago. I check evey day and it has not yet shown up to be counted.

Roz October 29, 2020 - 8:39 AM - 8:39 AM

@ Cellophane~
Did you at least find out it was received? Ours has, but has not been counted yet,…maybe on the 3rd of November,….?

Sam Malone October 29, 2020 - 8:39 AM - 8:39 AM

I voted by mail and did so for Trump. Biden and his crew are the most sad and useless group to run in my lifetime and I am no kid. Biden’s family props him up and if you ask him a question off script or his notes-he resorts to the one liner of “oh come on man” whilst his eyeballs roll around like slot machine wheels.
Harris and the leftists-socialist-marxists group of progressives are waiting to bump him off or declare him incompetent(which he is already) and she will take over. Why has no one asked that a medical team review Biden’s competency and health?????? Why is it that the media does not pick up on that. Oh foolish me-they are to busy pushing the leftist point of view on all of us and eliminating my right to speak as I have a far different opinion.
Trump is no angel but he has done much of what he promised and that is more than I can say about the 47 years of destruction that Biden has caused.

Pyrrhus October 29, 2020 - 9:42 AM - 9:42 AM

Yes, Trump has done so much he said he would.

Release Taxes? No
Build a Wall? Partially built a Fence that falls down.
Mexico pays for Wall? No
Plan to Replace Obamacare? No
Bringing Troops home? No
Fix National Debt? No, He blew it up more than Obama did in a Recession
Deporting All Illegals? No
Rebuilding our Infrastructure? No
Ditching NATO? No
Save Coal? No, more plants have closed under Trumps 1st term than Obama’s 2nd.
Grow the Economy by 4%? No

To sum it up he has only accomplished 24% of his promises. Obama? 47%. Not that I agree with Obama’s policies (specficially drone strikes, a half assed healthcare plan, increased power of the NSA, lack of whistle blower protections, squandered the time when Democrats had the majority)

Concord Guy October 29, 2020 - 9:07 AM - 9:07 AM

I like the ritual of voting in person. Then I saw that in the 94521 and the 94517, there are only four in-person voting centers near us. So instead, I am going to vote to save our democracy and to throw out con man Trump by dropping off my ballot at one of the available ballot boxes in our community.

Fred P. October 31, 2020 - 1:34 PM - 1:34 PM

Concord guy – It is NOT a democracy! Let me repeat – it is NOT a democracy! Ever hear of a “constitutional republic?”

If you don’t yet understand, look at line #1.

I can’t understand why so many democrats don’t understand the basic concepts on which this country was founded. WTH!!!

Bobfished October 29, 2020 - 9:11 AM - 9:11 AM

Democrat voters do not get to choose who they vote for. In 2016 most democrat voters wanted Bernie Sanders, however the democrat elites wanted Hilary so they made sure Bernie did not get the nomination. This time they wanted a radical left wing Harris. Their problem was that the democrat voters did not want Harris. So their plan to run her as Vice President and run Joe as a moderate would work to get Harris as president once the democrat elites get rid of Joe. He will be removed either because of his mental problems or his dealings with his family with foreign countries. Then they will have their radical in the White House. Harris came in 15th during the primaries.

Cyn October 29, 2020 - 3:59 PM - 3:59 PM

@Bobfished
I believe your post is 100% correct; which is why I also believe Trump will win huge.

Gruesome Newsom October 29, 2020 - 9:17 AM - 9:17 AM

To everyone that is voting in person. DO NOT leave your polling place if you’re in line at closing time. It is your right to cast your ballot and the polling place MUST stay open to allow the line to clear. Below is California law, cite this if you’re told to leave.

https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/voting-california/help-strengthen-our-democracy/poll-worker-info/poll-worker-training-standards/section-two

Poll workers must be trained about the right of voters to cast a ballot if they are in line at the polling place when the polls close at 8:00 p.m. Voters who are in line at the polling place at the time polls close are entitled to vote and must be allowed to exercise that right. Probably the same thing that will happen to ‘your friend’ when he doesn’t….we’ll all just keep moving along.

Obamavirus October 29, 2020 - 9:55 AM - 9:55 AM

There is a detailed expose of Harris and her long-time Marxist background on the redstate.com website
She is not “black Hillary” but is a vile hard-core Marxist like Obama

an iota of maturity October 29, 2020 - 9:55 AM - 9:55 AM

It is going to be a California landslide. So I guess they will explode, like trees.

Dorothy October 29, 2020 - 9:56 AM - 9:56 AM

Trying to find out if your ballot has been counted is like pulling hen’s teeth. The CCC site will say if it has been received and accepted but not if it has been counted. If you email the site it will refer you to the State’s site – that doesn’t say much either. I was in Martinez yesterday and was told the counting has started.

Jeff October 29, 2020 - 9:57 AM - 9:57 AM

I have not yet voted, but my vote to continue the America first administration will be given (though not of any value in this state). Let them here keep listening to their fading multi-millionaire candidate talk about taxing “the rich” from the basement of one of his 2 homes, after almost half a century of “public service.”

Bill Cutting October 29, 2020 - 10:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Of course you are a concord guy because you don’t have a fundamental understanding of what America really is it’s a constitutional republic it’s not supposed to be run by Mob rule … our founding fathers understood that pure democracy is flawed you have to have levels and branches of government only a brain dead communist with no understanding of history or economics would vote for Biden and that camel thing he totes around with Thanks for making us all pay more taxes if he wins … Question con guy do you have a job do you like paying more to the government Did you do good with mathematics do you understand supply and demand obviously not

The Fearless Spectator October 29, 2020 - 12:53 PM - 12:53 PM

I read the entire Biden tax plan. Anyone who truly read it would come to the conclusion that it won’t work.
It will raise a fraction of the dollars speculated, and that $400K limbo bar is very misleading. Increases in Capital gains, and eliminating the step up in basis and many people will get a lot poorer shortly, as will their heirs. Throw in the Green Deal spending and the GDP tanks, all while trying to exit the Covid disaster. Next they legislate Fracking out of business. The net result: huge layoffs, and many will be of the population they claim to want to help.
A vote for Harris/Bidon is a very expensive one.

mtzman October 29, 2020 - 3:21 PM - 3:21 PM

@Fearless, so if the Biden tax plan will only raise a fraction of the dollars speculated, how is it going to make many people and their heirs a lot poorer?

LL Cool J October 29, 2020 - 10:59 AM - 10:59 AM

And a large number of those mail-in votes for Biden now wishing they could take it back now that the corruption news has hit the fan. Biden has and is a national security threat to our nation. he is compromised. Very scary situation indeed if he wins. Kiss ANY freedom good-bye. Notice how the news combed through Justice Kavanaugh’s yearbook but won’t touch the Biden story? It has been confirmed that it is not Russian disinf. WATCH the Tony Bobulinski interview.

Bill October 29, 2020 - 11:48 AM - 11:48 AM

@LL Cool J – Hunter Biden “corruption” is fake news. Besides, Hunter Biden is not running for president. Trump owes how much to foreign lenders. That seems to be a bigger threat to national security. I’m not a Biden fan but I voted for him. A vote for Biden is a vote against Trump!

yogurt October 29, 2020 - 3:26 PM - 3:26 PM

It was not confirmed by anyone worth listening to. You are telling me that a man who live in LA, flew to Delaware to get his computer worked on by a legally blind man and then left it there. Then that blind man called Rudy Guliani instead of Hunter after he went through his emails.

Fox News passed on this story, so please it is nothing and the fact you keep pushing it only shows that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Why not talk about how Hunter and Joe have been investigated for these things and NOTHING was found. Much like benghazi..

Jeff October 29, 2020 - 4:39 PM - 4:39 PM

Daily we heard about President Trump and Russian collusion (including how much news time was wasted about a dossier put together by Clinton’s campaign), Emoluments clause, the Ukraine phone call, 25th amendment, Stormy Daniels, unpaid taxes, or no taxes paid, and countless other non-items given as true. We shall see to what level this is all actual, because as we have learned from the last 4 years, there are people who will fabricate whatever they can. Thing is, I believe this. The few bits I have seen actually compile more potential evidence in just one week than was ever brought forth after 3-4 years of the Russia collusion investigation. Certainly more time was spent investigating, and reporting on how Justice Kavanaugh may have acted as a teenager, where there was only 1 unstable “witness,” than investigating if the former Vice President was involved in a corruption scandal, where there are apparent emails, texts, and even pictures of the former vp himself in pictures with the individuals accused of benefiting from said corruption.

Yogurt October 29, 2020 - 7:25 PM - 7:25 PM

Jeff,

They did not investigate “collusion”. It’s obvious you didn’t read the report. If nothing happened why did so many people get arrested?

The dossier was originally funded by right wing news agency and then when Trump became the nominee they dropped it and then the democrats picked it up. It was not used as a basis to start the mueller investigation.

I find it amazing that you are willing to give trump a pass on all the things that have been proven true.

Regardless of what is a crime or not, at what point do you look at the long list of lies and absolutely immoral things he has done and say enough is enough.

The mask issue alone should be enough. He sent millions of masks to China in February (after he knew covid was going to cause massive deaths) and didn’t have a mask manufacturer in Texas start making them while lying to the public the whole time.

How many frontline workers in March and April and may and still now need them? I guess you don’t care about them either?

Cyn October 29, 2020 - 7:53 PM - 7:53 PM

@yogurt
You wrote “……and NOTHING was found. Much like benghazi.”

SHAME ON YOU!

Dr. Jellyfinger October 29, 2020 - 8:16 PM - 8:16 PM

Trolls are desperately trying to cast doubt on the Biden corruption scandal even tho they know the FBI has the computer & that they are actively investigating the Bidens….. but only until the election is over.
Then, if by some miracle Biden wins… they will embrace the case and impeach Biden so that they can put Queen Kamala in charge.
EZ Peasy!

Fred P. October 31, 2020 - 12:58 PM - 12:58 PM

Yogurt speaks of immorality, but conveniently ignores heels up Harris, slick willie and the blue dress and Hillary’s email escapades.

Whether or not the others aren’t running for president (although I’ll bet Harris is standing in the wings waiting for Biden’s dementia for force resignation), the fact is the democrats don’t hold any records for being moral.

Now take your faux outrage elsewhere, sour milk…

redrazor October 29, 2020 - 11:33 AM - 11:33 AM

@Kaui Mike … We did just as you and millions of Trump voters did already.
The early voters were heavily pissed off about all the abuse the President was subjected to for the last 4 years, and couldn’t wait to get their votes for him in to show their support! An electoral vote landslide for Trump, and probably a narrow popular vote victory as well.😉

Sam Malone October 29, 2020 - 11:35 AM - 11:35 AM

@Pyrrhus
Granted Trump has had an uphill battle since he announced he was running prior to the 2016 election. Honestly, how much could you get accomplished if everyday of your life you were scrutinized by the opposing party? Little if none. He is lucky he has accomplished what he has to date. Give credit where credit is due.

Hanne Jeppesen October 29, 2020 - 12:06 PM - 12:06 PM

I think if Trump spend less time on twitter and attacking everyone that are critical of him, it would at least give the appearance of him trying.
Yes, he has accomplished some things, a few I even agree with, it would at least appears as he really was 100% focused on running the country. Certainly Obama dealt with much opposition, Mitch McConnell said his goal was to make sure Obama did not accomplish any of his goals. Right wing radio was just as tough on Obama as some liberal news outlet has been on Trump. There were more threats on Obama than any other President, and then there were the birther issue. I think any President has more than their share of opposition, best to ignore most of is, joke about it and go about governing the country.

Fred P. October 31, 2020 - 9:18 AM - 9:18 AM

Yet Trump was being attacked by all of the democrats right from the time he was elected… and what did they accomplish? Not one damn thing… except to vote to impeach him. And that went nowhere .

Democrats are a bunch of sore losers.

redrazor October 29, 2020 - 11:40 AM - 11:40 AM

RANDOM TASK October 29, 2020 - 12:36 PM - 12:36 PM

hmmm electoral college places deciding votes
or did the democrats rig that too

the electoral college decides that is why we have winners on nov 3

sure most states finish the count for the record
which is why the college exists

if a state that was cast blue actually was a high red count that state becomes on the radar for the electoral vote to be more diverse and widening the next time
and yes demifornia is always cast blue until we change that
…..this year maybe …then you will see the politicians really asking what we want
instead of shut up and vote socialist democrat

the electorates have the say
not crying liberals calling for hate and slander
screaming like spoiled college kids that dont get the grade they wanted
and demanding the professor change it or else

the constitution and bill of rights was formed so demifornia could not do what it is doing to the state

they however have slipped past dozens of laws to cancel you out of the equation
as well as your safety and your children’s sanctity

supporting criminals over hard working american citizens

this is why this state cant split into 3 dem monoliths and secure the potus for 40 years ……

lets hope we the people still exist in 10 years

Joatmeal October 29, 2020 - 2:12 PM - 2:12 PM

For those of you worried about who Kammie or the Don slept with in the past or even in the future should be ashamed of yourselves.
Really I couldn’t care less if they were doing each other in front of Jesus Christ himself. All I care about is my God given freedoms and that they follow the Bill Of Rights and keep OUR Country and the Constitution intact. Way too many of our brave loved one’s that paid the ultimate sacrifice and spilled their and fellow brothers and sisters in Arms blood fighting for OUR Country Our Bill Of Rights. For those of you that need a refresher. “The Bill of Rights is the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. It spells out Americans’ rights in relation to their government. It guarantees civil rights and liberties to the individual—like freedom of speech, press, and religion”.

I can’t believe anybody would vote against anybody that has made our economy as strong as it was before the Kung Flu virus was unleashed on us to control our union and our Government. Instead of getting mad at each other try standing together and fighting for Our Country Our Freedoms and OUR Rights as US citizens. Anyone that votes against Trump is a complete COMMIE Imbecile that does not give two turds about where their family came from or where it’s going in the future. And I guess we can toss in the retirement and 401K plan thing as well, as in kiss yours good by if Kammie steals this bogus/ botched election.
