If it’s the store that we think it is, located near a very large community of senior citizens in WC, then that store should hire a real security staff to watch over its customers to protect them from criminal parasites.

Eddie van Halen July 30, 2020 - 7:48 PM - 7:48 PM

The name of the store is trying to tell their customers something.

Shes wearing a mask..This is why masks are usually outlawed. It’s as if Idiocracy and 1984 had a baby. Then that baby puked all over 2020

I hope she bought a new bra.

Stealthy Mama July 30, 2020 - 8:48 PM - 8:48 PM

Why can’t they say she used the stolen credit card to make purchases at Target instead of “at a retail store in Walnut Creek”? Based on the security camera, I can see her Target bag, the red and white shopping cart image on the floor just off the escalator. That has to be the Target store in Walnut Creek.

People, if you are leaving your house for anything, pay attention to what’s going on around you. Masks are being worn for a variety of reasons, which makes the criminal element harder to identify. Be smarter. I don’t want to blame the victim but please be vigilant. Especially the older crowd.

Another low life who takes advantage of any situation. With everything lawful citizens are dealing with it is so disappointing to see thieves and criminals thriving at this time.
Defund the police I don’t think so. This person should have the book thrown at her no matter what her lying excuse is for thievery and suffer the full extent of the law. She must be so proud of herself. This is not her first crime and will not be her last if she continues to get away with these crimes.

If the banks would just require a pin for credit card use these petty thefts would go away….Unfortunately the banks know that people run their debit cards as credit to avoid entering a pin and this earns them higher fees…..Congress is asleep as usual.

Aunt Barbara July 31, 2020 - 12:12 PM - 12:12 PM

They just steal pin codes..a quick fingerprint with purchase would scare them away..

Kentucky Derby July 31, 2020 - 5:01 PM - 5:01 PM

They’ll just use the card online or over the phone. Theft will never go away, unfortunately. I use my debit card without a pin and pay no fees at all.

Should maybe check the 58 unit Riviera apartments that Walnut Creek is so proud of

SF oh July 31, 2020 - 9:14 AM - 9:14 AM

🤫 Why Do we need a decoder ring to read this article? “…. a grocery store in Walnut Creek….”. “… a retail store in Walnut Creek”. Why is there no actual information here?

Ilovepopcorn July 31, 2020 - 3:21 PM - 3:21 PM

I agree with you? Why be so secretive? This crime is small potatoes! No big deal.

ON DA July 31, 2020 - 6:01 PM - 6:01 PM

Cause the business would quickly get a bad rep and protestors would set up shop and claim they want free wallets too.

TOB July 31, 2020 - 9:25 AM - 9:25 AM

Seems like this would not be a problem if they checked ID’s on credit card purchases. At least at brick shops. Online not much can do but this is preventable just checking ID. Once upon a time we use to do this.

The Wizard July 31, 2020 - 5:28 PM - 5:28 PM

Checking ID, that’s racist !

double dzzz July 31, 2020 - 9:50 AM - 9:50 AM

Later next year she will also get a nice free apartment condo to live in at 699 Ygnacio Valley rd. Rewards are abundant.
