That’s what happens when the government forces a large portion of the economy to shut down. Businesses shut their doors forever after four months of no revenue, former employees lose their jobs and income.

And when the largest employer in most cities and counties is the government itself and those people are never subject to layoffs or loss of work from pandemics, what incentive is there for the government to stop this BS so people can get back to work? At some point people will have no money to pay their mortgages and property taxes and government will suffer as the people suffer and rightly so.

It would have made more sense for Public Health leadership to impose stringent precautionary measure for high-risk groups, like the elderly and those in nursing and rehabilitation homes, instead of basing its model on measures that were implemented during a pandemic in the early 1900s.

There was no reason to close businesses and put so many people out of work when certain members of the population clearly are at higher risk and should have been afforded adequate protection. Instead, they have done just the opposite. They had to have known EDD would be overwhelmed and benefits would not be available, but they shrugged and went ahead with it anyway. Just unbelievable. Callous, irresponsible, and reprehensible … approaching criminal negligence, at this point.

Who cares. I get busy at my job too. I had a hub years ago where I worked 15-20 hours some days. And I never got a news story about me. Pffshhh

Maybe because some of those people can make more money being unemployed than they can working. Free extra $600.00 + whatever the state pays…….
