Gov. Newsom: Non-Essential Travel Is Not Permitted At This Time

by CLAYCORD.com

Non-essential travel (leisure, vacation) is currently not permitted in the state of California, according to a post on the official Facebook page of California Governor Gavin Newsom.

“Even though California is beginning to move into stage-2 of re-opening, the Stay-at-Home order is still in place,” the Governor said.

“so about memorial day weekend…”

“YOU’LL GET NOTHING AND LIKE IT!”

Patriot May 23, 2020 - 6:35 AM - 6:35 AM

No thank you Gavin. Kid my A$$

Where is the pushback from our Supervisors, Mayors, Council members and Police Chiefs? CRICKETS !

They are ALL guilty of this tyranny.

There is NO science or data to support this quarantine of the healthy.

The Wizard May 22, 2020 - 1:12 PM - 1:12 PM

This is what happens when you vote blue…Show me your papers !

GOOD LUCK!!!!

chuckie the troll May 22, 2020 - 1:18 PM - 1:18 PM

Is THIS where I give Newsom my stage-2, non-essential, middle-finger?

Come and arrest me, but I’m going for a drive because it is essential. If asked, how many people would say that leisure travel is MORE essential than Newsom?

Joatmon May 22, 2020 - 1:24 PM - 1:24 PM

Isn’t this a form of false imprisonment? telling people they cannot travel because it may be “non-essential” wtf? Texas is open and I have grandchildren there that I haven’t seen in a very long time. Even Dr. Fauci said the lockdown was not intended for the long term but rather just long enough for the health system to be able to get things manageable and somewhat under control. The CDC itself has said there is less likelihood of contamination from contact surfaces. I believe as long as we continue to practice distancing we should be able to roam freely. Newsom has opened up the beaches but I guess we’ll have to watch them from our Televisions if we can’t leisurely travel to them? It makes no sense to me

Tugboat May 22, 2020 - 1:24 PM - 1:24 PM

Hey Gavin, is there a double standard being applied here? You and family travel to Montana for a wonderful vacation while us deplorables must shelter in place, and not travel per the above referenced order. Do you see anything wrong with that? If I choose to travel anywhere please do not try to stop me.
You are a piece of work and really need to be replaced.

Puffandstuff May 22, 2020 - 1:27 PM - 1:27 PM

Hahahaha Newsom! You are insane! We the people are free! So sorry! Bye bye!

Yves Harlowe May 22, 2020 - 1:32 PM - 1:32 PM

I think it’s already too late for that, Gavin. People have already been out and about, visiting friends and family, taking leisure drives to just get the h*** out of the house for awhile.

Please knock this crap off.

Sam May 22, 2020 - 1:33 PM - 1:33 PM

He can say whatever he wants to say. Declaring a “state of emergency” when there is not an active emergency is a crime.

concord ygnacio May 22, 2020 - 2:34 PM - 2:34 PM

This is what Donald Trump did when he declared an emergency to get the wall built. But his time will be up come January.

Sam May 22, 2020 - 4:11 PM - 4:11 PM

Two entirely different things nice try.. besides your teams plan was to get him to put the country on martial law so he could be called literally hit*er. There has been a human trafficking and s drug smuggling emergency on our border for 30 years..remember the war on drugs??Trump will win California in November..possibly NY get over it

The Wizard May 22, 2020 - 4:18 PM - 4:18 PM

Yes his first term time will be up and he will start his second.

Alan May 22, 2020 - 1:38 PM - 1:38 PM

Very interesting…

So I have a hypothetical question that Gavin Newsom might answer for me. Let’s say I have an old friend, a close friend, say someone who is my campaign manager. And let’s say I’m sleeping with this close friend’s wife. Let’s say I’m cheating on my friend and lying to my old friend’s face every day while I’m actually sleeping with his wife…

Gavin Newsom, is it okay to travel to sleep with my close friend’s wife? Is breaking up someone’s marriage covered by your stay at home order? If I’m cheating on my friend at his own home, is that considered staying at my friend’s home while I’m sleeping with my friend’s wife?

Asking for a friend…

RoRo May 22, 2020 - 3:31 PM - 3:31 PM

I just LOLed. That’s an excellent question to ask Governor Nuisance!

From the Liberty Fest website: “No group or individual is in charge of the rally.” Why don’t the organizers admit who they are and admit that this is an organized event? This isn’t a random assortment of people. Someone set up the Liberty Fest website and social media accounts, and arranged for the bands and speakers to show up. Why don’t they come forward and be transparent about who they are?

FYI- Hitler declared a State of Emergency shortly after taking office, restricting travel, commerce, etc…in the beginning. It only went downhill from there.

What would happen if every store, every restaurant and bar, every music venue, every Church, opened up this weekend and people simply ignored Nancy’s Nephew?

Brandi May 22, 2020 - 4:57 PM - 4:57 PM

The cops wouldn’t do anything about it….. avoid a riot.

Sam May 22, 2020 - 5:12 PM - 5:12 PM

This Jew is very aware exactly how thing went down..and I’m nervous about the way he has declared a state of emergency and immediately changed the maximum length of 60 days..the president has now effectively opened the entire country. You can worship anyplace, anytime with any amount of people staying apart or not and with or without masks. Gavin doesn’t get it yet but we have been released with blessings from Trump

Escape while you can!!! Soon the barb wire and road blocks will be going up at the boarder. Newsom has been wondering how to stop the flow of people and businesses leaving the state for a while. Covid-19 is his big chance to “reimagine the future of California”.

Suffice it to say – stuff it. I will ignore your illegal order – or whatever it’s called.

DVC Student May 22, 2020 - 8:04 PM - 8:04 PM

I understand defying this order on principle but they are giving out $1,000 fines and we don’t know yet if the judges are upholding the fine or not.

You guys know students will never be able to get out from under a $1,000 bill while still in college & we cannot afford an attorney who will come in & fight it on Constitutional grounds.

Uhhggg – Some of us are just stuck having to obey the Man which sets a terrible precedent for the future.

Sam May 22, 2020 - 10:52 PM - 10:52 PM

Sorry to hear that. National parks are open, state parks may not be. You are allowed to travel. Doubt you would have any issues regardless of destination however if I was given a ticket I would consider signing “under duress”

What does it mean when you sign under duress?

Duress is defined as coercion of a party to execute a contract against the free will of that party. … Essentially, duress is the act of forcing another person or party to do something against his or her will, usually with a threat of violence or other harm.

When the King speaks, the subjects must listen.

Led May 22, 2020 - 11:51 PM - 11:51 PM

Besides how tyrannical and pointless and unenforceable this is … isn’t it just great that it is so vague? How close is “close to home”? What is the legal definition of a “significant” distance? Given that outdoor activities are explicitly permitted in the SIP, how far is too far to go for such activities? If someone from CCC goes to Alameda County for outdoor recreation and exercise, is that illegal?

I have a bunch of very law-abiding friends who think they aren’t allowed to cross county line. There’s a reason laws are supposed to be specific enough that a reasonable citizen can understand when they are breaking them or not.

I know those Nazis over in San Mateo Co are handing out fines to people who travel more than 10 miles from their home for recreation or exercise – which basically just means the rich people want the beaches for themselves – that’s an old story. But at least they have the tyrrannical guts to say what “close” means. It’s an outrageous rule but at least it is intelligible and they are declaring just how controlling they want to be. Newsom just throws out nanny-ish stuff that isn’t even defined. I don’t know which is worse, frankly.

Natalie May 23, 2020 - 10:48 AM - 10:48 AM

The radius is 10 miles. Like so many rules, there’s wiggle room. If you aren’t obnoxious, don’t cause trouble, and don’t draw attention to yourself, then going a little further isn’t a problem.

The rules do say not to cross county lines unless it’s for essential reasons. If you need to see a friend in another county to maintain your mental health, or that person’s mental health, then go visit that person. Just keep it low key; don’t go throwing a Liberation Protest in the middle of the street and drawing attention to yourselves. If you need to visit a family member to boost spirits, go do it.

Every area has its special recreational spaces that need to be managed with crowd restrictions during this time to allow for more spacing of people. It certainly would be annoying if this weekend tons of people from out of county flocked to the Mt Diablo foothills or Lime Ridge and the parks were super crowded. For those living near a beach, it would be just as annoying if people from outside their area took over the beach. Plus the beaches have been so politicized that they are drawing people who are going there out of spite, or to cause disturbances, not going because they genuinely like the beach. Again, if would be annoying if a place like Lime Ridge became a political focal point, and was overwhelmed by people waving “Don’t Tread on Me” flags, and screaming through megaphones. So it’s understandable why beach towns are trying to limit outsiders.

Dear Gavin,

Kiss my grits!

–An American

Well??!! May 23, 2020 - 2:18 AM - 2:18 AM

What I find really curious is that the usual libs have not commented nor defended the latest news items. “King Gavin Demands you to stay home”, “We need more money from Trump because we spent all of our surplus on illegal immigrants, condoms, and bubble gum”, “we have a lunatic in charge of our county heath department and telling us how to have sex”. I could go on, but yet radio silence from popcorn, dan, Ozzie, Natale, math challenged Kauai Mike, clothed and financially secure thanks to Macys Hanna, concord ygnacio., you all know who you are. But I have also noticed that when you get called out, you never respond.
See you on the beach! I’ll be the one NOT wearing a mask. God Bless America!

Sam May 23, 2020 - 10:01 AM - 10:01 AM

Wait till 4th of July comes around..they will be demanding fireworks, American flags and throwing away their masks.. libs are Americans too. They have just been conditioned to think this is not the greatest nation in the world for freedom. They forgot it should never be undermined. If America ever lost its freedom, the world would truly come apart.

Natalie May 23, 2020 - 10:22 AM - 10:22 AM

You summoned me? The Bay Area has plenty of parks and nature areas. “Close to home” is so poorly defined, but I’m assuming that the 10 mile radius rule applies. This radius still gives plenty of options of things to do and things to see.

I also feel like venturing too far out with be wrought with complication. The lack of open public restrooms certainly would be an annoyance.

I don’t always respond when getting “called out” because I have things I do during a day. I am not obligated to debate people constantly. I do respond to people sometimes, and sometimes I don’t, but it’s not true to say that I “never respond” to people in these conversations.

Why should they? He is not doing this for our benefit no matter what some of our Newscum loving folks believe.

In the grocery store, Local, and in locally grown produce, is defined as being from anywhere in California. So I think I’ll follow their definition.

BTW- had a couple of essential, locally produced glasses of wine in our neighbor’s back yard last night. Newsom never showed up. So we had a wonderful time.

The Fearless Spectator May 23, 2020 - 4:28 PM - 4:28 PM

This morning I witnessed several vehicles towing boats and jet skis, and people inflating towables at gas stations. 2,000 join rally against Newsance’s illegal stay-at-home coronavirus orders at the Capitol
