Attempted double suicide?

1791 May 22, 2020 - 10:28 AM - 10:28 AM

Mike,

I like that thought. Any attempted robbery should be considered a suicide attempt. If the armed citizen exercises his/her right to defend themselves, the criminal committed suicide. I’d sign that into law right now!

whome May 21, 2020 - 11:40 PM - 11:40 PM

I’m getting tired of continually reading statements such as;
“Based on preliminary information, investigators believe this is an isolated incident and do not believe there is an active threat to the community”.

Like that makes it acceptable.

It’s violence. Anyone can be harmed…and it’s spreading all throughout the Bay area.

I was recently shot at driving around Lake Berryessa. I passed a mini-van and the passenger emptied half a handgun mag at me…I was not surprised one bit. Pissed, yeah. Surprised? Nope…

Zero Bail May 22, 2020 - 12:24 AM - 12:24 AM

It’s the Zero Bail Policy in CA. Look it up. Criminals know they won’t go to jail short of murder, so they have no fear.

Don’t believe it? Look up Miles Armstead. He was harassed, assaulted, attempted arson on his home, by one guy who would never be put in jail because of Zero Bail. This last for over 2 months until he finally murdered Miles and he leaves 4 kids and 1 on the way. Look it up on KTVU.

Jeff May 22, 2020 - 7:52 AM - 7:52 AM

The mediocre WCPD has to report to the liberal City Council, that is why they never want you to see the risks.

Zero Bail,

I agree with that statement.

However the Bay Area recently had over 100 freeway shootings in an 18-month period (120?). So now we get the double whammy – violent punks + Zero Bail.

And I agree about all of the LEA’s having to bow down to the local city “RULERS”…it’s BS.

That there is one of them thar E-Ssential businesses.

ConcordMike May 22, 2020 - 12:18 AM - 12:18 AM

Oh… picture of a liquor store. Walnut Creek has Liquor Stores? No auto repair shops or auto parts stores. No 99¢ or Dollar Tree, or McDonald’s. Bars to close by midnight (not sure what happened to that one). But a liquor store? Haha. Better get your operation in tip top order. Gonna close you down.

Jeff May 22, 2020 - 7:19 AM - 7:19 AM

OK, here is the reality with no cute comments.

I frequent that liquor store for soft drinks, will be going there today if they are open.

Another news source says African-American males. One of two things happened: 1) Attempted robbery and the owner had a gun and fired back at them…..get away car reported damaged with bullet holes. 2) The sometimes gruff owner gave them a bad time about not wearing face masks and they took offense.

Walnut Creek is a very PC city and the police department is mediocre. Not that the officers and leadership are not bright, but that they work for liberals and are self trained in a slow city. Officers cannot be properly trained if they begin their careers in Walnut Creek, they are just not exposed to enough information.

1791 May 22, 2020 - 8:26 AM - 8:26 AM

Thanks Jeff, your input makes complete sense.

PC department and investigators don’t want us to know race, perps city of origin, if the “wounded” were the perps or bystanders, if the perps were apprehended at the hospital, or the fact that the store owner has more balls than them and shotgun behind the counter.

When this was posted, they knew all of the above. Every liquor/convenience store business license should come with a complementary Mossberg 590 and 5 boxes of shells. Oh, and proper training from a retired Sheriff of course!

Wow! 10 whole years?? You should run an academy! (Insert sarcastic tone).

Ancient Mariner May 22, 2020 - 5:04 PM - 5:04 PM

Ten years is a long time in any job, especially law enforcement.
Give Jeff a break – he’s providing us with useful information ahead of the media, from a knowledgeable perspective.

Janus May 22, 2020 - 6:50 PM - 6:50 PM

So Jeff 10 years is it?

So at least 3 or 4 years were spent changing underwear and pulling courts in the jails. So you’ve got about what 4 years on patrol after the FTO program and the academy?

To hear you talk, you’d think you’re a 30 year guy.

I’d love to compare POST profiles with you.

This store is right near a freeway exit and entrance. Easy for someone not from the city to access the freeway and do their thing. Hope the shop owner is carrying for his safety.

Walnut Creeks dream for 30 years.

RANDOM TASK May 22, 2020 - 9:24 AM - 9:24 AM

yeah right

gun shots rang out like a bell

its an isolated incident …move along move along

the liberal agenda of making crime a daily event and saturation of allowable offenses has worked ….I moved far away from Oakland and stayed away from pittts and Antioch …..yet our city council bussed in criminals to our schools and flooded the streets with crime from bums to illegals being given a pass…..and even encouraging theft by pushing for no jail time for crimes

always wondered how those other cities became gang ridden and how the people accepted it …now I know …

sorry to those other cities that their reputation was based on a political agenda to keep the people down and under control ….sorry you fell to the democrat political overlord fodder design …..

you would think people would not stand for being dragged down and forced to comply in being pushed into not being able to succeed and grow and thrive and move up …..yet the democrat politicians have hundreds of people working on how to keep you down ….then flood the narrative of how nice it is to be mediocre as the democrat politicians grow rich and flourish …..on our backs

Sometimes I jump to conclusions. This time I will wait for the facts.

Barbosa May 22, 2020 - 10:33 AM - 10:33 AM

What’s the fun in that?

Ricardoh May 22, 2020 - 11:02 AM - 11:02 AM

I gave my opinion on what happened on a airplane crash in Southern California a couple of days ago and a bunch of people jumped all over me for not waiting for the accident report by the feds. Even though I am pretty sure I was correct. So I will wait a day or two before giving another excellent opinion. LOL

Jeff May 22, 2020 - 11:05 AM - 11:05 AM

I’ll go by the store at 12:30 and get the facts, you’ll never see this again from the city.

1791,
You’re so correct!

They want to have the cool “Urban” cred and cool rep, but they are simply limousine liberals and now they finally got what they wanted. Let them stew in it…

Aunt Barbara May 22, 2020 - 11:42 AM - 11:42 AM

People love to blame the cities and not the scumbags that roam around
looking for trouble.

To Do List May 22, 2020 - 12:07 PM - 12:07 PM

Aunt B: You might be right if the number of “scumbags” in society is always constant, but others would say soft on crime policies created most of the “scumbags.” Perhaps there were fewer of these individuals in the distant past because if they acted like that, they would have gotten a quick attitude adjustment getting their front teeth kicked out by the police or citizens.

Walnut Creek is a great destination for people who don’t want to shoot up their own neighborhood. Easy access from BART, if you can dodge the coronavirus and homeless.

Jeff May 22, 2020 - 2:47 PM - 2:47 PM

From what I gathered from the person at the liquor store, the entire action happened in the parking lot, he thought the people knew each other. Possibly a drug deal in the parking lot, but unknown at this time.

108RS

Kk May 22, 2020 - 3:22 PM - 3:22 PM

They weren’t drug dealers and they weren’t from Oakland. They are two arms dealers both from the Dominican Republic. I know. I sold them both rocket launchers a few years ago. They ended up selling them at the Solano flea market for about 15 bucks each.

Barbie Girl May 22, 2020 - 4:08 PM - 4:08 PM

Yep both the Escalade and BMW shot at each other in front of the liquor store. They left a giant bag/box of pot in the parking lot. One took off on Rudgear to the freeway, the other down Broadway and to the hospital. Two with gunshot wounds. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
