I witnessed an event like this on South Main at Starbucks last week…

ANON February 26, 2020 - 9:26 PM - 9:26 PM

I believe this happened last Friday the 21st.

profiling …..PROFILING

we don’t need no stinkin profiling

remember vote democrat so these citizens don’t see jail time or paid probation or fees or even a record of the event filed

self rehab is all they need ….as they revisit the area with more friends and family

little rant February 27, 2020 - 12:02 AM - 12:02 AM

We need to release them….after all the numbers in custody for serious crimes are disproportionate to the percentages of the community….come on now…..

JazzMan February 27, 2020 - 5:40 AM - 5:40 AM

Hey, All the “they’ll be out in a minute “ people. Over $950. Prison time for them. Stop blaming the Democrats. They didn’t make these people who they are.

Joatmeal February 27, 2020 - 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM

Depends on if the divide the $2,700 by 4.

Rod Barton February 27, 2020 - 10:45 AM - 10:45 AM

Well, wherever there are criminals getting caught for committing crimes, there is always going to be nutty leftist liberals ready to take up their cause.

@ Jazz

“Stop blaming the Democrats. They didn’t make these people who they are.”

No, they didn’t make them who they are. They’re just not punishing them for their crappy behavior! No Punishment = Crime Pays!

It’s really not that hard to understand!

chuckie the troll February 27, 2020 - 3:09 PM - 3:09 PM

Release them like the Ewoks wanted to do in ‘Return of the Jedi’.

ConcordMike February 26, 2020 - 6:41 PM - 6:41 PM

Arrested and “Booked”? Or arrested and released with citation to promise to appear? Probation violation is bookable… ain’t it?

JazzMan February 27, 2020 - 5:42 AM - 5:42 AM

Booked and jailed. Probation violations plus new theft charges will land them back in the gray bat hotel. Hopefully bail will be set too high or straight remand.

Dorothy February 26, 2020 - 6:53 PM - 6:53 PM

Just take the stolen stuff away from them. Getting arrested for stealing while on probation for stealing? Nope, might as well erase that law from the books since they will only do it again – and again – etc…

Anon February 26, 2020 - 6:57 PM - 6:57 PM

Hopefully they didn’t feel disrespected during their arrest.

No Nonsense February 26, 2020 - 7:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Winners🤦‍♀️
They’re just going to slap their hands and send them on their way🤦‍♀️
Fine each one with the amount they stole and make them clean all the litter on the side of the roads. Put a time limit and amount of space that they need to have cleaned and if they dont double it.

Face Palm February 26, 2020 - 7:29 PM - 7:29 PM

These people need to get a paying job or an education ( free tuition for the first 2 years in California) make something of yourselves?! I’m assuming they are able bodied if they can stroll the streets of WC to steal. What upsets me the most is they are jeopardizing working people like me and others to enjoy shopping downtown when we have to witness this type of thing. I have witnessed such a thing, which is slightly disturbing, with their arms full of clothing when retailers just let them go to avoid any kind of violence to develop and for the rest of the shoppers not to feel uneasy or frightened for escalations to occur, which I’m assuming and understand, but still this is BS for it to even happen. These people are making their race an unfortunate target for profiling and do you blame other people for doing so, I say no.

sign from above February 27, 2020 - 7:09 PM - 7:09 PM

@ Face

Great thought. But, why would they do that? Crime is a free ride in California. The possible benefit FAR outweights the chance of getting caught/prosecuted! Crime pays in California! No need for a real job/education!

Guess those high class names don’t really mean anything…..
And the parents(you know they all live at home) are just proud and this as all a misunderstanding.

Original G February 26, 2020 - 8:16 PM - 8:16 PM

Well now this is after all California, where cash bail is frowned upon and ya have to really work extra hard to be charged with a Felony . . . Prop 47 an all.

An isn’t the new normal for some to be on probation or parole???

Would not be at all surprised if they were all, when young and fragile, deprived of participation trophies.

james February 26, 2020 - 8:16 PM - 8:16 PM

Is the one in pink just a store mannequin or is that way too much stolen make up?

…probation violations. I guess laws make no difference to these people. Trouble is, it makes a difference to me. I’m getting tired of the dirtbags that keep doing this over and over.

james February 26, 2020 - 8:58 PM - 8:58 PM

Before in Calif,if you got 3 misdemeanor petty theft cases it was then filed as a felony and you got 16 months in.San Quentin. The intake center is there and you aren’t in there long enough to be put in a ” better” prison. Now,send them to a class and put them on probation, they don’t learn anything, but it’s was cheaper,in the short run,not the long run.

Michaella February 26, 2020 - 9:12 PM - 9:12 PM

Does anyone notice the person photobombing the girl in the pink while doing the peace sign?! Absolutely classic!

ANON February 26, 2020 - 9:29 PM - 9:29 PM

Ok, I just checked and on twitter WCPD says it was on Wednesday the 19th.
It was a sight to see..

Aunt Barbara February 26, 2020 - 10:28 PM - 10:28 PM

I saw the same sight about four weeks ago…this is a regular sighting on the streets of Walnut Creek recently.
One look at those rodents and the handcuffs should be open and ready.
Nordstrom should not have let them get out the doors, they used to have good strong security. New overall hiring at Nordstrom from Pittsburgh, Antioch, Pimole, Oakland leaves much to be desired as they bring their homies in!

Dennis February 26, 2020 - 9:46 PM - 9:46 PM

It is so sad that this does not surprise me. It reminds of the church scene in Blazing Saddles where the parishioners are singing and the last line of the song is “our town is turning into s__t.

Nokeem February 26, 2020 - 10:16 PM - 10:16 PM

Now, will Prop 47 and Prop 57 have any influence ax to whether these perps are charged and booked? Here’s what I think, judging on the vanishing of the 2 of 4 perps caught after a home invasion in Pleasant Hill. Ready? NOTHING! Lots of fanfare (and no disrespect to WCPD who are doing their jobs most excellently) and the suspects are in the wind! We need some accountability as to what happens when these thieves are caught! Lots of fan fare “we got ‘em” and none when they are let go. We need to Repeal Prop 47 and Prop 57. Period we got sold a bunch of lies.

Nokerm February 26, 2020 - 10:19 PM - 10:19 PM

Have they been released yet? Are they already at Macy’s stealing?

Aunt Barbara February 26, 2020 - 10:49 PM - 10:49 PM

They better hurry before the employees take it all! bad hiring!

james February 26, 2020 - 10:19 PM - 10:19 PM

When you take a close up look at the one in pink,at first I thought she had a hoodie on but they wouldn’t take her photo that way,it’s dyed white hair. These 4 made themselves into a spectacle that everyone was looking at ,but was supposed to look away from or you offend them, and they live thrive on that .

Tired February 27, 2020 - 6:08 AM - 6:08 AM

If you do the crime, do the time. Slapping people on the wrist do not combat criminal activities. Walnut Creek has a lot of theft because people let their guard down. Its a nice city and the PD is very receptive. Being liberal about criminal activities is not a healthy outlook for the criminal. People need to learn that you cannot steal and think its okay. Enough is enough with nonsense and unitarian concepts.

Ilovepopcorn February 27, 2020 - 6:09 AM - 6:09 AM

Bad little kids. Hope one day they will straighten up.

Jeff February 27, 2020 - 7:45 AM - 7:45 AM

Just part of the liberal Bay Area problem. Liberal city councils, liberal judges, then gets to liberal police chiefs……just watch what happens with Oakland PD.

We have no one to blame as those that keep voting for the fools in California and the nation into office. It daily surprises me when people say I did not vote for so and so or such and such. Then why are these loser politicians and propositions and assembly bills passing?

This group of folks will continue to do these crimes and cause the rest of us to pay for their antics. No matter what your political affiliation wake up and get these losers out of office and off the streets.

RANDOM TASK February 27, 2020 - 9:46 AM - 9:46 AM

wow this thread is still going

and the disbelief of how this state is being run still lingers

this state is what blatant corruption looks like

there is no one fact checking or challenging anything

just like cal scams building the bay bridge section …one section …
it went over budget and twice as long to build why because no one ..not one person was asking questions or demanding answers ….so the workers all got paid twice as much and the dept heads got real rich

as well as who was inspecting the project ….yep cal scams was inspecting their own project

this is how this state is run a bunch of cronies all democrats reaping off of tax payers ….laughing all the way to their carmen islands accounts

bills are passing because they say so …..voting in this state is rigged

if no one is looking they just do what they want …..

why do you think that weiner is still in office ….or de slacker for that matter …and how did kamala get her job ….not by hard work or being liked by the people her campaign showed just how far from a politician she is

this state is doing what it wants and forcing laws to hold us down and pushing bills to layer our streets with bums and illegals that we have to pay for with our increased taxes

now they are telling you there is a lack of housing ….lol and you believe them choking down their lies ….

this state has around 600,000 they claim are on the streets because they cant find affordable housing

hmmm yet the democrats pushed in 16 million illegals

where do you think they live in black hawk and Danville paying 800k plus for housing ….lol

they are living in all the low rent apartment under section 8 payed for by us

the math is not hard to follow

American citizens are being put on the streets in favor of illegals

because the dems can control them …..they are giving them the rights of americans and sanctuary laws as well …access to every American system for money medical …drivers license welfare

while the americans on the streets get what ….nothing

this is what you wanted this is your fault right

the state has been run by dems for over 50 years now

I guess this is their utopia at least bezerklys and SF

this once proud state is now a sad corrupt hole of over taxing and politicians doing nothing for the taxpayers accept slamming them with more burden and property taxes

these crimes will increase and become normal as if they already aren’t

how far does it have to go before a change is needed …..

can anyone answer that and dem voter ….can you school us as to why this is ok ……

Concord74 February 27, 2020 - 10:18 AM - 10:18 AM

On top of all this hand-wringing concerns for these four poor disadvantaged miscreant, BART is looking into the alleged disproportionate citing of the same type of miscreants in the trains and around the stations!

What a bunch of BS re: all this!! Where is Burris??

Peter Pan February 27, 2020 - 10:36 AM - 10:36 AM

@JazzMan – Of course Democrats made them. Democrats keep “reforming” the criminal justice system to decriminalize more and more. So criminals are emboldened and they keep committing more and more crimes until they are finally stopped. Then the same Democrats will cry and say the prisons are full, let’s do away with all felonies. It’s insanity.

Rod Barton February 27, 2020 - 10:42 AM - 10:42 AM

Look like such winners to me…nice work WCPD. Always keeping up with the criminals. Broadway is such a haven for these scumbags and the employees cannot even confront thieves so the police have to be on alert.
I wouldn’t mind just having the police follow these types of people when they go around shopping malls.
It is not racial profiling…it is keeping the community safe!

Jeff February 27, 2020 - 11:22 AM - 11:22 AM

Rod,

WCPD is a soft department just like the rest of the police agencies in the Bay Area, they all report to liberal elected officials. A couple of the Sheriff’s have some backbone because they are directly elected.

chuckie the troll February 27, 2020 - 3:06 PM - 3:06 PM

Aw yes, the old ‘probation violation’. California’s experiment with ‘catch and release’ and ‘decriminalizing criminal behavior’ has proven to be a failure.

Perhaps some “Ten Commandments Sensitivity Training”, as in, Thou Shall Not…is in order. Perhaps incarceration and some forced labor, maybe fire/fuel reduction work would straighten them out. Or, we could outsource their ‘rehabilitation’ to Saudi Arabia.

Holy Smokes February 27, 2020 - 3:54 PM - 3:54 PM

And yet.

The usual suspects get selected to Concord City Council, State Legislature, and Congress, and Senate. The demographics insurers this outcome.

You guys will need to find another place to live.

Once I thought that simple market forces would lead poor people to move elsewhere to find jobs and affordable housing, but it’s the middle class that has to relocate. This is because the government intervenes by poorly allocating finite resources that enable people to behave irrationally, and, I might add, badly.

chuckie the troll February 28, 2020 - 9:32 AM - 9:32 AM

More than one expert has predicted that California will soon be home to the wealthy, and a large servant class seeing to their needs. A small remnant of the middle class will hang on because they own their home and/or have obligations which prevent them from moving.

The ‘brain-trust’ operating in Sacramento is doing everything in their power to export good paying jobs to other states. The law undermining contractor ‘jobs’ is but one example.

Bran D February 27, 2020 - 4:07 PM - 4:07 PM
