Concord Police are investigating what they’re calling an unprovoked stabbing that left a victim in stable condition in the intensive care unit.

As we previously reported, the stabbing occurred on Meadow Lane at Riley Ct. just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The suspect, 25-year-old Concord resident Jose Mario Calonge Aguilar, was arrested near the scene of the crime after he was identified by witnesses, according to police.

Police say the attack was captured on surveillance and shows numerous vehicles stopped in traffic while the victim was stabbed several times.

If you were in the area and witnessed any portion of the stabbing, please contact police at 925-603-5922.

Suspect was just lucky that 108RS was not 10-8.

Doh February 19, 2020 - 12:45 PM - 12:45 PM

What a bunch of useless comments that just make assumptions about the suspect based solely on his name. Yet they are stated as if they were facts.

Dawg February 19, 2020 - 1:17 PM - 1:17 PM

Maybe it’s because most of Concord’s illegal residents reside in the Four Corners neighborhood.

MAG February 19, 2020 - 2:15 PM - 2:15 PM

I agree with you Doh ….Sometimes I read these comments and I am said they live in the same town. Life is to short to be so angry

Doh February 19, 2020 - 4:26 PM - 4:26 PM

Dawg, how did you arrive on your conclusion? Is it based on any survey done? If so. done by whom? Or is it strictly empirical?

james February 19, 2020 - 5:54 PM - 5:54 PM

A name says a lot,and does state fact, and there is no confusion as to who lives there, but liberals of course are like, why are you assumimg? Its called fact,no assumption ’bout anything in that nieghborhood.Stop it,I know realty doesn’t sit well with all,but the truth is needed.

Meh February 19, 2020 - 6:20 PM - 6:20 PM

James “a name says a lot” is that so? You’re aware there are many people who have Spanish last names that aren’t “Spanish” or “Hispanic”. Facts may not sit well with you unless they’re from faux news or categorized as alternative facts.

Cristina February 19, 2020 - 7:20 PM - 7:20 PM

I agree with James and Dawg. I get nobody wants people to assume, but it’s just common sense as to what that neighborhood has become and with a pattern of crimes it just fits the demographic. I almost find it offensive that people are so offended with people stating the obvious, If you keep over protecting everybody because you’re afraid to offend people nothings going to change.

james February 20, 2020 - 1:37 AM - 1:37 AM

Faux news and alternative facts are liberal publicatiobs so why would I be looking at themn,.the same people that lied to theor own people by say Clinton would “win by a landslide” just to make voters think any other vote is throwing your vote away, shes got it on the bag.Meh,if these people aren’t Spanish or Hispanic, what would itt matter, they still commited a crime, and that doesn’t sit well with you that their name is in the news.

Googlar February 19, 2020 - 1:17 PM - 1:17 PM

I lived there as a child. Unprovoked attacks were a daily occurrence on the way to and from school. Glad we were young and they weren’t using knives, yet.

ON DA February 19, 2020 - 1:19 PM - 1:19 PM

yeah high density housing. Fringe benefits. Send the memos to the state legislature.

James bond February 19, 2020 - 3:54 PM - 3:54 PM

I’m in the picture

james February 19, 2020 - 5:49 PM - 5:49 PM

Riley ct is not off Meadow lane.Could they be a little more honest about the Virginia lane street this happened on?What are they trying to hide?

Dirtnap February 20, 2020 - 7:51 PM - 7:51 PM

If you look at the picture of the crime scene, it’s at the intersection of Meadow Ln. and Riley Ct.

John P February 19, 2020 - 6:20 PM - 6:20 PM

Nothing good ever happens on Meadow Lane.

Tiba February 20, 2020 - 8:47 AM - 8:47 AM

I lived there back in the 90s 😳
