Contra Costa District Attorney Announces Human Trafficking Hotline

Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton announced a Human Trafficking Hotline has been established to take reports of forced or coerced commercial sex and labor.

If you or someone you know has information regarding any acts or suspicions of human trafficking, please call: 925-957-8658.

A Senior Inspector with the Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit will monitor the Hotline and coordinate a response from appropriate law enforcement and advocacy partners with the goal of holding offenders accountable and connecting victims to services and support.

In 2016, the National Human Trafficking Resource Center reported 7,621 human trafficking cases, a majority of them from California. “The Hotline is one more tool in our fight to keep our community safe from exploitation,” said DA Becton.

Contra Costa County was awarded a federal grant last October to form a Human Trafficking Taskforce that enhances collaboration between state, federal and local law enforcement and service providers for victims of both labor and sex trafficking.

Wow democrat DA as well head not held on tight enough

So staff a county worker at a emergency hotline

We do have 911 right or is that not union enough or not expensive enough

Or the DA decided to force a position for a family memeber or friend to get benefits

Wow will the waste of tax money ever stop or rather ever be controlled
Obviously the county treasurer is a empty chair when it comes to spending on things we all ready have in place

Hey why not another gov chair next to newscum to shuttle and pre quality items that the king needs to see …oh he should have an aide that does that
Well not anymore some concrete moguls daughter needs a job so she proof reads addresses before they get put into boxes to be processed yay

I’m thinking that’s probably going to be an ancillary duty. They’re not going to pay a senior inspector that much money to sit and stare at a phone hoping it rings!

What I saw in the paper today seem to imply the hot line would be open on Wednesdays. Not sure if it starts then or only good on Wednesdays.

Does this hotline produce different results than the other human trafficking phone number, 9-1-1?

The radical progressive agenda includes the legalization of prostitution.

Kamala Harris has already said she supports legalized prostitution. No doubt Diana Becton follows the same script.

I’m sure the California Demorat politicians see it exclusively as another way to bleed money from any and all middle class workers, no matter what they do.

Being a Prostitute is a step up from being a politician.

Yes a step in the right direction.

ON DA September 19, 2019 - 7:10 PM - 7:10 PM

Any questions?

Human trafficking is not a partisan issue. It’s a rampant, horrible criminal industry, often victimizing children. The article describes a phone line funded, at least in part, by a federal grant. Doesn’t mention any new employees, and it also helps free up 911 for other emergencies. How is this bad?

RANDOM TASK September 20, 2019 - 8:43 AM - 8:43 AM

wow so when ever politicians want to institute something with out a vote
YOU believe they are being forthcoming …lol

also when somone says oh no cost to you like the lights on the bay bridge
they said oh no cost to the public ….then one year later
oh well the public needs to pick up the cost as it now runs upwards of 1.5 million a year to keep the lights working …yeah fell for that one too

simple when a politician does not want you to vote on it they are getting something for doing it and don’t want you to deny them their cake
