Officers from the East Bay Regional Park District located a large amount of illegally dumped trash in the Concord hills this week.

The officers were able to identify a suspect and had him return and clean up the trash he illegally dumped.

It’s unknown if he was cited.

Should make him clean somebody else’s too…

Chicken Little August 13, 2019 - 1:38 PM - 1:38 PM

Good to hear. I hope it was really hot and the officers sat in their air-conditioned vehicles and gave the guy orders over the PA while he was picking up his garbage. Hopefully, he learned his lesson.

Chicken Little

That made me laugh out loud!!
“Attention! you missed a spot!”

OverWhelmed August 14, 2019 - 10:56 AM - 10:56 AM

Ya, he just went and dumped it someplace else after the cops left.

RT August 13, 2019 - 1:47 PM - 1:47 PM

LOL. Love it, what better punishment than that! He wouldn’t have paid a fine anyways…just follow him to the dump to make sure he goes in and pays the dump fee LOL

Weezie August 13, 2019 - 1:48 PM - 1:48 PM

How could you catch ‘em all and make them clean up? Even better than citing them. 👏🏻

Kentucky Derby August 13, 2019 - 2:05 PM - 2:05 PM

This is good to hear. They’re rarely caught, and making them pick it up is more effective than a fine that will never be paid.

Fig newtons August 13, 2019 - 2:14 PM - 2:14 PM

I hope it was a hot day ! This illegal dumping is pathetic

ConcordNative August 13, 2019 - 2:17 PM - 2:17 PM

Hahaha….there is something so great about busting a garbage dumper. They should get the littering fine as well if they didn’t.

Jeff August 13, 2019 - 2:24 PM - 2:24 PM

I’d have made him pick it up with his teeth. 108RS

Wrongly Accused August 16, 2019 - 12:37 AM - 12:37 AM

I’d like to see you try!

Ricardoh August 13, 2019 - 2:24 PM - 2:24 PM

I approve this story.

RANDOM TASK August 13, 2019 - 2:24 PM - 2:24 PM

uuuhh oh
while I applaud the forest service for their actions I really do

this is sanctuary county and the lawmakers and politicians don’t like it when people are held responsible for their own actions…they prefer to let this state rot and pay high taxes to do so.

obviously there was no sign not to dump or enough of a barricade or deterrent to stop him so yeah welcome to crazyville

population who knows because they allow open border and refuse to count the illegals …I wonder why ? anyone care to let me in on that secret
yeah for over 30 years illegals have been flooding in …yet lawmakers here would rather they stay illegals rather than make them legal why ?

anyways well done forest service even though the dems will have someone else come and dump there to prove their point

Curlybird August 13, 2019 - 2:53 PM - 2:53 PM

Can’t you just enjoy the moment?

grandmato3 August 13, 2019 - 3:24 PM - 3:24 PM

Random, Do you ALWAYS have to be negative? Always have to blame someone? BTW, it wasn’t the ‘forest service’, it was the Regional Parks Police, don’t you read before you comment?

Sending a shout-out to the park police, excellent job!

Willis August 13, 2019 - 3:39 PM - 3:39 PM

Illegal dumping has increased dramatically since the demographic change in this area. Dump fees cut into the profits. Sad…

Bob H August 13, 2019 - 4:13 PM - 4:13 PM

Your way out in the left field. Come in out of the sun.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 13, 2019 - 4:52 PM - 4:52 PM

I have no sympathy for illegal dumpers!
But you have to admit, dump fees are outrageously high!…. that’s why all this illegal dumping is going on.
How do they justify the incredibly expensive rates they charge?

Julian Gelber August 13, 2019 - 9:09 PM - 9:09 PM

Random Tasks,
I don’t believe this is a sanctuary county.
Sheriff Livingston is very pro- ICE
and works with them.

AJR August 14, 2019 - 9:21 AM - 9:21 AM

Yeah, why so negative? Can’t handle your own insecurities and short comings in life? Seems so.

Simonpure August 13, 2019 - 2:27 PM - 2:27 PM

Simply AWESOME!

ON DA August 13, 2019 - 2:30 PM - 2:30 PM

He should learn to wipe his behind more often too.

Pat August 13, 2019 - 2:33 PM - 2:33 PM

How many other times has he done this????? fktrd

I’m going to note (then post here if allowed) the bumper sticker on the back of the construction truck and black, tool trailer driven by an idiot coming from the Clayton/Concord Blvd area who thinks it’s ok to toss a lit cigarette. Another fktrd.

Mary Fouts August 13, 2019 - 2:35 PM - 2:35 PM

I’d like to see same thing happen with dog owners who do not pick up their dog’s poop during walks and at parks. They should be required to spend an hour or 2 picking up dog poop and other trash.

I see dog poop in Larkey park within 10 feet of trash cans and a poop bag dispenser. Also in home front yards right off sidewalk. Infuriates me.

Simonpure August 13, 2019 - 3:35 PM - 3:35 PM

Yes Mary…I actually have a dog in my neighborhood that poops right on my driveway. Not even in the lawn. I have not been able to catch it in action but a day will come.

Dr. Jellyfinger August 13, 2019 - 4:57 PM - 4:57 PM

I’ve actually seen a dog clean up it’s own poop before… I’d prefer to just clean it up with a shovel than see the dog do that again.

Nutcreek Frontier August 13, 2019 - 2:39 PM - 2:39 PM

Love this, way to go EBRP! Wish we could do this for all the losers who dump their trash at schools and in neighborhoods too.

Anon August 13, 2019 - 2:44 PM - 2:44 PM

That’s awesome! Hopefully he learned his lesson.

Yes August 13, 2019 - 3:03 PM - 3:03 PM

Best news I’ve heard all year. GREAT WORK from the officers of the East Bay Regional Park District.

Cindy Talbot August 13, 2019 - 3:39 PM - 3:39 PM

I applaud you East Bay Regional Parks Police! 👏👏👏👏

RANDOM TASK August 13, 2019 - 4:00 PM - 4:00 PM

sorry grand show me something positive about this state besides the banning of plastic straws and legalizing theft oh and usurping the poor manhole cover

please preach how sanctuary has placed a positive cloud over this poor state

Kirkwood August 13, 2019 - 4:04 PM - 4:04 PM

Just curious, I wonder where this is. The key words would be EBRP, Concord, and hills. Accessibility to the public could be another factor.

WC Resident August 13, 2019 - 5:02 PM - 5:02 PM

That barbed wire topped fence on the right side offers a clue that it’s adjacent to the naval weapons station. It’s likely the Concord Hills Regional Park which is not open to the public yet. https://www.ebparks.org/civicax/filebank/blobdload.aspx?BlobID=23435 has a map of the park. Willow Pass Road is on the western boundary and Baily Road runs through it. My guess it’s somewhere on Baily Road.

https://www.ebparks.org/about/planning/cnws.htm has more about this park.

Kirkwood August 14, 2019 - 10:36 AM - 10:36 AM

The hills east of CNWS was my first guess but I didn’t think EBRP had yet taken control of the property, also I didn’t think there was any public access. My other guess was the EBRP areas in the Morgan Territory areas, but that’s not near Concord. There IS a ton of garbage along Bailey Rd but the photo suggested the site was some distance from the roadway.

Tim August 13, 2019 - 4:06 PM - 4:06 PM

Should be cited and FINED. Think it’s $1,000 for illegal dumping. He probably did it in the past. There needs to be consequences.

Your way out in the left field. Come in out of the sun.

Anon August 13, 2019 - 4:42 PM - 4:42 PM

Surprised that they didn’t hover there with their chopper since they Love terrorizing neighborhoods with that thing!!!

ChuckStir August 13, 2019 - 5:24 PM - 5:24 PM

Right on. I do agree with the others that he should be fined.

concord ygnacio August 13, 2019 - 5:48 PM - 5:48 PM

Unless the police had video or eyewitness proof, the person was under no obligation to clean up anything. I suspect the police fund some identifying info in the trash, but that in itself is not proof the person was the one who dumped it.

Sandy G August 13, 2019 - 9:36 PM - 9:36 PM

They probably found mail with their address on it
I hope they played the long version of Alices Restaurant the whole time

Bob August 13, 2019 - 6:23 PM - 6:23 PM

Love it!!!

They should’ve had him work all this week.

Silva August 13, 2019 - 6:40 PM - 6:40 PM

Sweet!!!

Non-litterer August 13, 2019 - 7:11 PM - 7:11 PM

Beautiful! Post of the a Week!

RS August 13, 2019 - 8:03 PM - 8:03 PM

LOL! I was thinking please please please let the evidence consist of 8×10 color glossy photos with the circles and the arrows and the paragraph in the back of each one!

Chester E. Kitty August 13, 2019 - 7:16 PM - 7:16 PM

This is awesome!!!! But I agree with the others that he should also get a fine! A very hefty fine.

Suz August 14, 2019 - 9:15 AM - 9:15 AM

Good! One down… 6437 more illegal dumpers to go!

AJR August 14, 2019 - 9:18 AM - 9:18 AM

YES!

Judy August 14, 2019 - 10:12 AM - 10:12 AM

Wouldn’t it be nice if this POS had his picture on here? The Wall of Shame.

Old-school guy August 14, 2019 - 10:22 AM - 10:22 AM

I hope, that afterwards, the cop escorted the idiot to the landfill to properly (and pay fees) dispose of the junk.

The Mamba August 14, 2019 - 10:41 AM - 10:41 AM

Probably mail or a document with his name and address on it. Good job CPD, litterers suck.
